Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Hempstead

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Hempstead, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Hempstead.

How does a metal roof handle Hempstead's winter snow and ice buildup?

Aluminum's smooth, non-porous surface naturally sheds snow and ice better than asphalt, reducing ice dam risk in your climate's typical 55 cm annual snowfall. The four-way interlocking panels lock together so tightly that water cannot penetrate, even during freeze-thaw cycling, which Hempstead experiences about 58 days per year. Optional snow guards are available if you prefer controlled release, and the roof's lightweight design (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed to support snow loads — a major advantage over slate or clay tile roofs that require expensive bracing.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Nassau County damage my metal roof over time?

No. Aluminum's fundamental chemistry protects it: the metal contains no iron, so it cannot rust when water enters cracks or seams. Instead, it develops a self-healing oxide layer that continuously protects against corrosion even through 58 annual freeze-thaw cycles typical of your region. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle and cracks under temperature swings, or wood shakes, which split and curl, aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without degradation. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is also warranted 30 years against weathering damage, giving you double protection across frozen winters and warm summers.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust like steel roofs sometimes do?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and corrodes in steel. Instead, when aluminum is exposed to moisture or oxygen, it develops a thin, transparent aluminum oxide layer that immediately seals the metal beneath and heals itself if scratched. This is why Interlock's roofs have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998 without rusting. For Hempstead's 1,214 mm annual rainfall and occasional salt spray from proximity to the Atlantic, this corrosion immunity is a genuine structural advantage over any iron-based roofing alternative.

What hail rating does an Interlock metal roof have, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this rating and offer discounts for Class 4 roofs because they are less likely to file claims. We recommend contacting your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification and the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 to explore potential savings. Over Hempstead's 50+ year lifespan, such discounts can compound significantly, reducing your total cost of ownership below traditional asphalt.

How does Interlock handle Hempstead's nor'easter gusts and coastal winds?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Hempstead's typical wind gusts reach about 136 km/h during nor'easters, well within the roof's rated capacity. The interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire panel array rather than relying on fasteners alone, so each panel reinforces its neighbors. This engineering is why the roof performs in exposed coastal and mountain locations worldwide — the panels cannot separate or lift under stress like loose asphalt shingles do.

Will an aluminum metal roof help lower my cooling costs?

Hempstead receives about 3,193 sunshine hours per year, and Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect much of that heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. Cool Roof Rating Council measured colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, which means less heat enters your home and less air conditioning is needed. Over a 50-year roof life, this translates to thousands of dollars in avoided cooling costs — particularly valuable in summer months when Hempstead's mean temperature climbs. The Alunar coating maintains its reflectivity for 30 years under warranty, so energy savings don't fade as the roof ages.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof really need compared to asphalt?

Interlock roofs require almost no ongoing maintenance. The aluminum does not rot, split, curl, or lose granules like asphalt shingles do in Hempstead's 1,214 mm annual rainfall and 58 freeze-thaw cycles. You'll never need to have missing shingles replaced, re-sealed, or the entire roof re-coated. Occasional debris removal from gutters and downspouts is all that's needed. CALGreen has verified Interlock for reduced maintenance, confirming this advantage officially. Over the roof's lifetime, you'll save thousands in repair labor that asphalt roofs demand — making it the last roof you buy and install.

Can Interlock install a metal roof over my existing asphalt roof in Hempstead?

Yes, in most cases. Because aluminum panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile — about 96% lighter than traditional concrete or clay tile — the roof installs directly over your existing asphalt shingles without costly tear-off or structural reinforcement. This saves significant labor and landfill costs upfront. Interlock Roofing of America has served the Nassau County region since 2014 and is familiar with local codes and roof configurations. They'll inspect your deck during the initial assessment to confirm feasibility. Installation typically completes in a few days, with minimal disruption to your home or neighborhood.

Is an aluminum metal roof actually more sustainable than asphalt?

Yes. Interlock panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, and the aluminum retains value as scrap material, making recycling economically viable. Traditional asphalt roofs, by contrast, end up in landfills after 15–25 years, contributing to long-term waste. Over its 50+ year lifespan, one Interlock roof eliminates the need for three or four asphalt roof replacements and tear-offs. By choosing aluminum, you break the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle and invest in a material that supports circular economics. For environmentally conscious Hempstead homeowners, this is a meaningful way to reduce construction waste.

Does an aluminum metal roof meet fire safety codes in New York?

Yes. Interlock offers Class A fire classification (non-combustible aluminum) and complies with the current ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, which covers the International Building Code and International Residential Code as reissued in 2025. New York enforces these model codes, so your installation will meet local fire safety requirements. Unlike wood shakes or asphalt (which are combustible), aluminum cannot ignite and will not contribute to fire spread. This non-combustible status may also appeal to your homeowners insurance carrier, potentially lowering premiums alongside the hail rating benefit.
