Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Barnum Island

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Barnum Island, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Barnum Island.

Will an aluminum metal roof handle Barnum Island's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts naturally, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement without cracking or warping. With about 58 freeze-thaw days per year in your area, this matters: the panels' 3105-H24 alloy and double-sided Alunar coating remain stable through repeated temperature swings. Unlike slate or wood, aluminum doesn't absorb moisture that locks in and splits when frozen. Your roof stays weathertight season after season.

How does a metal roof perform under Barnum Island's snow load?

Metal roofing handles heavy snow well, and Interlock's exceptional lightness helps. You receive about 55 cm of snow annually; the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft—light enough that no structural reinforcement is needed even over existing roofs. Snow slides off the smooth, hard surface more easily than asphalt, reducing ice dam risk. Optional snow guards can be installed if desired. The interlocking panels distribute any remaining load evenly across your structure.

Can this roof withstand Barnum Island's coastal winds and gusts?

Yes. Gusts in your area reach about 136 km/h; Interlock's warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together mechanically—no adhesive reliance—so wind cannot lift or separate them. This design proved itself across coastal salt-air homes and proved itself at an Antarctic research station. Your roof will remain secure through nor'easters and seasonal storms.

Will heavy rain leak through a metal roof in Barnum Island?

No. Your area receives approximately 1214 mm of rain annually; Interlock's panels are designed for exactly these conditions. The four-way interlocking seams overlap and direct water downward and outward—water cannot be driven upward into joints. When installed over solid deck and underlayment per ICC-ES ESR-1790 spec, the roof performs like any properly installed roof, with no special vulnerability to leaks. Thousands of installations worldwide in high-rain climates confirm this.

Does aluminum rust in salty, humid coastal air like Barnum Island's?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, a microscopic oxide layer forms instantly on the aluminum surface and self-heals when scratched. Barnum Island's salt-air environment is exactly why Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel—extra protection against salt spray. The coating carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Steel roofs corrode; aluminum roofs in salt air stay sound for decades.

What's the hail rating on this metal roof, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers offer discounts for Class 4 hail protection. Contact your agent with the UL rating and ESR-1790 certification to discuss your premium. In a region that can see severe weather, impact resistance translates to fewer claims and potential savings over your roof's lifetime.

Is this roof light enough to install over my existing asphalt shingles?

Yes. The Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft; even the heaviest profile, Mediterranean Tile, weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is required, and installation can proceed directly over most existing roofs. Removing old shingles costs time and money and fills landfills; installing Interlock on top saves both. Structural engineers sign off on this approach because the weight is negligible.

What warranty covers this metal roof, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited, non-prorated for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. Few roofing products offer this. With 3105-H24 aluminum, double-sided Alunar coating, and a 30-year finish warranty, your roof will outlast two or three asphalt replacements. This is genuinely the last roof you buy.

Does a metal roof help with cooling costs in the sunny months?

Yes. Barnum Island receives about 3193 sunshine hours annually; energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorb it. Interlock's rated colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55—meaning less heat enters your home, particularly on the south and west exposures. Cool roofs rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council reduce air-conditioning demand. Over a 50-year span, that efficiency gain compounds into real dollars.

Who installs Interlock roofs in Barnum Island, and do they know the local climate?

Interlock Roofing of America has served this region since 2014 and understands Nassau County's weather patterns—heavy rain, coastal salt spray, nor'easters, freeze-thaw cycles, and occasional severe wind. They know how to spec the roof for your specific site: underlayment, ventilation, snow guards, and interlocking panel orientation. Local experience matters; they can answer questions about your neighborhood's architectural standards, your home's exposure, and insurance or permit details. Call them for a site evaluation.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Barnum Island’s climate?

Yes. Barnum Island averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
