Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in East Atlantic Beach

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in East Atlantic Beach, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in East Atlantic Beach.

Will a metal roof handle East Atlantic Beach's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens under freeze-thaw stress, unlike asphalt or wood. Your area experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year, a cycle that cracks shingles and splits cedar shake. Aluminum panels expand and contract uniformly without degradation. The four-way interlocking design (ESR-1790 certified) accommodates thermal movement while maintaining the seal. That's why Interlock roofs have been installed in Antarctic research stations — if they survive the South Pole, East Atlantic Beach's seasonal swings pose no structural concern.

Can aluminum roofs rust in a coastal salt-air climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it develops a natural oxide layer that self-heals when scratched — a passive defense asphalt and steel roofs don't possess. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on BOTH sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. That dual-coat protection was specifically designed for homes exposed to salt spray, like those around East Atlantic Beach. The Guardian warranty covers rust-through for the original owner's lifetime.

How does an aluminum metal roof handle snow loads in Nassau County?

East Atlantic Beach receives about 55 cm of snow annually — manageable for aluminum's light weight and rigid four-way interlocking frame. Snow doesn't load Interlock panels the way it does asphalt or slate; the Slate profile, for example, installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, so accumulated snow adds minimal stress to your structure. The interlocking design prevents snow migration under the panels and eliminates ice-dam formations that plague asphalt roofs in freeze-thaw regions like yours (58 freeze-thaw days per year). Optional snow guards are available if architectural steepness demands them.

Is a metal roof worth the initial cost for Nassau County homeowners?

The arithmetic favors aluminum over a roof lifetime. Asphalt shingles in your climate, with 1214 mm of annual rainfall and freeze-thaw cycling, typically fail in 12–18 years; you'll buy three asphalt roofs before one Interlock roof requires replacement. The Guardian warranty is non-prorated for the original owner (lifetime material coverage), then transfers to the next owner with 50 years of coverage — a resale advantage asphalt cannot match. Installation cost is higher upfront, but when you stop replacing roofs every 15 years and eliminate maintenance, the total cost per year drops sharply over 40+ years of ownership.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof installation?

No structural reinforcement is needed in nearly all cases. Interlock's Tile profile — the heaviest aesthetic option at 0.59 lb/sq ft — is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so it imposes negligible load on framing. Shake profiles run 0.58 lb/sq ft, and the lightweight Shingle comes in at just 0.41 lb/sq ft. Most homes can support these weights without any structural modification. In fact, aluminum roofs often install directly over existing asphalt, eliminating the cost and landfill impact of tear-off. A licensed installer from Interlock Roofing of America can confirm your home's readiness during the site survey.

Can an aluminum roof withstand East Atlantic Beach's coastal wind gusts?

Yes. Your area experiences typical gusts up to about 136 km/h, and Interlock roofs are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking panel system distributes wind pressure across the entire roof surface rather than concentrating it on fasteners. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms this performance under IBC/IRC wind load standards. The mechanical interlock — not reliance on sealant alone — is what gives you that 120 mph warranty. Coastal storms and nor'easters are common in Nassau County; this roof is engineered for exactly that exposure.

Will hail damage my aluminum roof, and can I get an insurance discount?

Interlock roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the panels withstand the severity of hail most U.S. regions experience. Because the material is non-combustible aluminum and backed by proven impact performance, many homeowners report lower insurance premiums or qualification for hail-resilience discounts. Contact your insurance agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 classification; many carriers recognize these credentials and adjust your policy favorably.

Who installs Interlock roofs in East Atlantic Beach, and how long have they been serving the area?

Interlock Roofing of America is the authorized local installer, serving Nassau County and the surrounding region since 2014. They understand the specific challenges of coastal New York — salt air, heavy rainfall (1214 mm yearly), freeze-thaw cycling (58 days per year), and unpredictable nor'easters. They carry the training to install over existing roofs, manage the interlocking assembly, and ensure your warranty is properly registered with The Guardian. Schedule a site visit to discuss your roof type, the profile that matches your home's architecture, and a timeline; they'll provide a detailed estimate and answer questions about your specific property.

Is an aluminum roof environmentally responsible compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles are torn off every 12–18 years and sent to landfill — a cycle that repeats multiple times over a home's ownership. Interlock panels, with their 50+ year lifespan, break that cycle. Because the material weighs only 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft (depending on profile), tear-off is simpler and generates less waste during installation. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance and minimal environmental impact. Over a 40-year period, choosing aluminum instead of asphalt eliminates roughly three full tear-off cycles — a measurable reduction in landfill contribution and carbon footprint.

Is a metal roof fire-rated, and does that affect homeowner insurance in New York?

Interlock roofing is available in non-combustible aluminum with a Class A fire classification — the highest rating available. The material itself cannot ignite, and the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC fire-safety standards used by New York. Non-combustible roofing often qualifies for insurance discounts or reduced premiums, especially in areas prone to wildfire exposure or where insurers incentivize loss-prevention measures. Ask your agent if Class A fire rating reduces your homeowner insurance cost; many carriers in New York recognize this benefit. The combination of impact resistance (UL 2218 Class 4) and fire safety makes aluminum roofing attractive to insurers and homeowners alike.
