Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Long Beach

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Long Beach, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Long Beach.

Will a metal roof handle Long Beach's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or failing?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without cracking because it has no grain structure like wood or brittleness like concrete tile. Long Beach experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year, cycling between above and below freezing, which degrades asphalt and splits wood shingles. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, and the four-way interlocking design allows controlled panel movement. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against chalking, protects against salt spray and freeze damage. This material won't split, rot, or lose structural integrity through decades of your region's seasonal stress.

How does an aluminum metal roof perform under Long Beach's snow and ice loads?

Aluminum roofing sheds snow and ice faster than asphalt because its smooth, hard surface prevents adhesion and the slope encourages runoff. Long Beach averages about 55 cm of snow annually, plus freeze-thaw cycles that create ice-damming risk on traditional roofs. The Shake profile installs at just 0.58 lb/sq ft—so light that no structural reinforcement is required—while reflecting the sun's heat (emissivity 0.84) to accelerate melting. Four-way interlocking panels resist warping and lifting from ice weight and thermal stress. Optional snow guards can be installed if you prefer controlled shedding for pedestrian safety.

Can a metal roof handle the heavy rainfall and coastal storms in Long Beach without leaks?

Interlock's four-way interlocking system creates overlapping ribs that channel water downslope in a predictable path, and the panels are installed over a solid deck with ice-and-water underlayment—the same proven method asphalt roofers use. Long Beach receives about 1,214 mm of annual rainfall, with coastal storms bringing heavy downpours; the mechanical interlock means water can't penetrate sideways into joints or under panels. There's no sealant to degrade, no exposed fasteners, and no reliance on adhesives. When installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications, the roof sheds water as reliably as slate or clay tile—which is why homes from coastal salt-air zones to an Antarctic research station trust this design.

What hail rating does Interlock Metal Roofing carry, and will it help lower my insurance?

Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofs because hail damage claims drop dramatically. Long Beach averages 3,193 sunshine hours yearly but sits in a region prone to severe weather systems; a Class 4 rating removes hail as a financial risk. When you submit your UL 2218 certification to your insurer, ask about impact-rating discounts. The non-combustible aluminum also qualifies for fire-safety credits in many policies, potentially offsetting the roof's investment within a few years of premium savings.

Why can't aluminum metal roofing rust, and why does that matter for a coastal Long Beach home?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a transparent oxide layer that self-heals when scratched—a process that repeats automatically. Steel roofing rusts in coastal salt air, but Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides for extra salt-spray protection. Long Beach's salt-laden air accelerates corrosion in ferrous metals; aluminum homes here stay structurally sound indefinitely. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (measured per ASTM D4214) ensures color stability without maintenance—no repainting, no rust arrest products, no structural decline.

Is an aluminum metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?

Yes—Interlock's Metal Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed. Most existing asphalt-shingled roofs can support an overlay because the aluminum adds negligible load. Long Beach homes don't require foundation upgrades or beam reinforcement; the roof installs directly over your current decking using the existing structure. This one-time overlay method eliminates the expense and landfill waste of a full tear-off. Your installer, Interlock Roofing of America, verifies your deck condition and confirms suitability during the free site survey—but lightweight aluminum is why metal roofing retrofit costs stay reasonable.

What warranty does Interlock Metal Roofing carry, and how long will it really last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—with zero degradation of coverage over time. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of protection from completion. Long Beach's 58 annual freeze-thaw cycles, salt air, and 120+ km/h gusts stress roofs heavily, yet Interlock has manufactured this product since 1998 with no material obsolescence. The aluminum won't weaken with age, the coating resists fading for 30 years, and the four-way interlock design prevents panel separation. This is genuinely the last roof you'll buy—and your home's next owner inherits half a century of warranty peace.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood shingles?

Aluminum roofing requires virtually no maintenance: no resealing, no shingle replacement, no gutter cleaning from decomposing particles, and no annual inspections for wind damage or rot. Asphalt shingles degrade from UV exposure and salt spray, requiring replacement every 15–20 years and generating landfill waste. Wood shakes rot and split in Long Beach's 58 annual freeze-thaw days. Aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, and the four-way interlocking system sheds debris and salt spray automatically. Rinse the roof annually with fresh water if desired—that's optional. Over 30+ years and 1,214 mm of annual rainfall, the maintenance cost difference versus asphalt or wood easily covers the initial investment.

Can an aluminum metal roof withstand Long Beach's nor'easters and coastal winds?

Interlock's panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, and Long Beach's typical gusts reach about 136 km/h—well within the roof's rated capacity. The four-way interlocking design means panels mechanically grip each other and the deck; there's no reliance on sealant or adhesive that degrades in salt spray and UV exposure. Each panel is fastened through the solid decking to the structure, distributing wind loads across the entire roof assembly. Nor'easters with 100+ km/h gusts are survivable because the roof won't lift, separate, or leak from wind-driven rain. Insurance underwriters recognize this—metal roofs often qualify for wind-resistance credits.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in Long Beach, and how long does the job take?

Interlock Roofing of America has served Nassau County and Long Beach since 2014, specializing in aluminum metal roof installation and overlay projects. They're factory-trained on four-way interlocking panel installation and familiar with local building codes and permitting (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance). A typical residential roof takes 3–5 days depending on square footage and whether you're overlaying or replacing; the lightweight aluminum means faster installation than slate or tile. Your installer conducts a site survey to verify deck condition, assess overlay feasibility, and provide an accurate timeline. Call them for a free estimate and to discuss your home's specific exposure to Long Beach's salt air, snow, and wind—they'll ensure proper installation for 50+ years of warranty protection.
