Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Cedarhurst

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Cedarhurst, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Cedarhurst.

Will a metal roof handle Cedarhurst's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts predictably with temperature swings, and its oxide layer self-heals when micro-scratched during freeze-thaw stress. With about 58 freeze-thaw days per year in Nassau County, material brittleness matters; asphalt becomes rigid in cold, but 3105-H24 aluminum alloy retains flexibility. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement without panel separation or seal failure, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against degradation) resists salt spray that accelerates corrosion cycles in freeze-thaw climates.

Does heavy rain cause leaks in metal roofing?

Heavy rainfall—about 1214 mm annually in Cedarhurst—requires proper panel overlap and sealing, which Interlock's four-way interlocking design provides. Water sheds immediately off the sloped panel surface; the interlocks direct it away from fasteners and seams. Installation over solid deck with underlayment (the standard for most existing roofs) creates the same water barrier as asphalt—no fastener penetration without sealant. Code-compliant installation per ESR-1790 ensures drainage paths meet or exceed traditional roofing performance.

How does an aluminum roof handle snow loads in Nassau County?

Cedarhurst receives about 55 cm of snow yearly; aluminum's extreme light weight—the Shake profile installs at roughly 0.58 lb/sq ft—means snow accumulation adds negligible structural load compared to asphalt or tile. The smooth panel surface, combined with appropriate gutter sizing and optional snow guards, allows snow to shed safely rather than pool. Because no structural reinforcement is needed, retrofit installations on existing framing proceed without engineering review, a major cost advantage over heavy tile systems in northern climates.

Is metal roofing safe in high winds around Cedarhurst?

Yes. The region experiences typical daily-max winds around 22 km/h with gusts up to 136 km/h—well within the 120 mph (193 km/h) wind resistance warranty that Interlock guarantees when installed to specification. Four-way interlocking panels prevent uplift by distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than isolating fasteners. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind design standards, and local installer Interlock Roofing of America has been serving Nassau County since 2014, understanding regional storm patterns.

Can a metal roof rust if it's near salt water or coastal air?

No. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust. The material is protected by Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides—the back-side coating is critical in salt-air environments where corrosion accelerates. Nassau County's maritime influence makes this dual-coat protection valuable. The roof has been installed from coastal properties to an Antarctic research station; the self-healing oxide layer under the PVDF finish provides a second defense against salt-spray degradation.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost in Cedarhurst?

Over a 40-50 year ownership horizon, yes. The Guardian Warranty is non-prorated lifetime limited for the original owner—covering rust, rot, impact loss, and material failure—with a one-time transferable 50-year term for the next owner. Asphalt requires replacement every 15-20 years, meaning two to three tear-offs, disposal costs, and labor. Aluminum never requires tear-off; you install over existing roof, avoiding landfill expense. The 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214 verified) and Class 4 hail coverage reduce insurance risk. For long-term residents, the elimination of repeat replacement cycles favors metal substantially.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Aged Copper Penny achieves up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity (Cool Roof Rating Council rated), meaning less heat enters the attic during Cedarhurst's 3193 annual sunshine hours. In humid climates with moderate summer peaks, reflective metal roofing reduces air-conditioning runtime. Savings depend on insulation, AC efficiency, and roof color choice, but the thermal properties lower peak cooling demand. The lightweight aluminum also allows for better attic ventilation without adding insulation cost.

How long does it take to install Interlock metal roofing?

Installation timeline depends on roof size and weather, typically 1-3 days for residential homes. Because Interlock panels install over most existing roofs (no tear-off required), labor hours are lower than traditional re-roofing. Existing asphalt stays in place, providing underlayment; fasteners secure aluminum panels directly to the roof deck per ESR-1790 installation spec. The lightweight panels—Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft, for example—mean faster handling and reduced crew strain. Interlock Roofing of America, serving the area since 2014, schedules most Cedarhurst jobs within 2-4 weeks of contract.

What maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need?

Minimal compared to asphalt or wood shake. Aluminum does not split, curl, or rot; the Alunar 70% PVDF finish resists chalking and fading for 30 years (ASTM D2244 verified). Annual inspection for debris and gutters is standard for any roof in a region with about 1214 mm annual rainfall. Unlike asphalt shingles, which harden and crack over time, or cedar shake, which requires treatment and re-staining, aluminum requires no staining, sealing, or protective coatings. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden compared to asphalt, lowering long-term ownership cost.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in Cedarhurst?

Interlock Roofing of America, the authorized local installer, has served Nassau County since 2014. They handle design consultation, material selection (five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, Standing Seam), installation per ICC-ES ESR-1790 code, and warranty administration. The local presence ensures faster scheduling, familiar understanding of regional climate and building codes, and accessible service for inspections or future support. Direct contact with an experienced crew reduces miscommunication and ensures your roof meets Cedarhurst's specific wind, freeze-thaw, and salt-air demands.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Cedarhurst’s climate?

Yes. Cedarhurst averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
