Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Woodmere

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Woodmere, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Woodmere.

Will an aluminum metal roof hold up through Woodmere's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions because it has no iron and cannot rust, even when moisture cycles repeatedly through freezing (about 58 freeze-thaw days per year here). The material's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, so salt spray and repeated temperature swings won't compromise it. Steel roofs corrode under the same conditions; aluminum gets tougher. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted for 30 years against chalking, provides an extra shield during winter weather extremes.

How does a metal roof perform in Woodmere's snowy winters?

Metal roofs shed snow more efficiently than asphalt, reducing ice dam risk during the about 55 centimeters of snow Woodmere receives annually. The smooth, interlocking aluminum panels don't trap moisture like porous shingles; snow slides or melts without pooling. Four-way interlocking design prevents water infiltration even when meltwater refreezes. If you prefer snow retention for insulation or aesthetics, optional snow guards are available. Either way, the lightweight aluminum (Shake profile at ~0.58 lb/sq ft) handles repeated snow loading year after year without sagging or structural stress.

Can aluminum roofing rust in Woodmere's salt air and wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and degrades in moisture. Woodmere's 1214 mm of annual rainfall and coastal salt-air exposure would quickly corrode steel roofing, but aluminum develops a protective, self-healing oxide layer. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), with Alunar 70% PVDF coating applied to both sides—extra coverage matters in salt environments. After 25+ years installed in similar climates, these roofs show zero rust while steel alternatives have failed. This is the durability difference that justifies the investment.

Are metal roofs safe in Woodmere's wind and nor'easters?

Absolutely. Interlock roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Woodmere's typical gusts reach about 136 km/h (85 mph), with rare extreme events potentially higher. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels interlock on all edges, creating a unified system that stays fastened during storms. This engineering—combined with proper installation per ICC-ES ESR-1790 specs—has kept these roofs secure on homes from Nova Scotia to Antarctica. Insurance companies often recognize the structural advantage; ask your agent about potential wind-rating discounts.

Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for a metal roof?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's aluminum Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roof structures without engineering upgrades. Even the heavier Shake profile at ~0.58 lb/sq ft is negligible compared to asphalt or wood. This light weight also means installation is faster, labor costs are lower, and you can often install directly over your existing roof, avoiding the mess and landfill impact of a tear-off. Structural peace of mind at no extra cost.

Does heavy rain penetrate metal roofs, or is leaking a concern in Woodmere?

Heavy rain—Woodmere receives about 1214 mm annually—cannot penetrate properly installed Interlock aluminum roofing. The four-way interlocking panels overlap on every edge, and when installed per ICC-ES ESR-1790 code specs with solid deck and underlayment, the system is as leak-proof as asphalt shingles. Metal's reputation for rain vulnerability comes from poorly fastened standing-seam roofs with gaps; Interlock's mechanical interlock eliminates that risk. Combined with a solid substrate and drainage plane, you get watertight protection through decades of coastal rainfall.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Aluminum requires far less maintenance than asphalt or wood. No annual patching of curled shingles, no fungal growth from Woodmere's 1214 mm annual rainfall soaking into porous asphalt, and no rot or splitting like cedar shake. Rinse leaves and debris occasionally—that's it. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists chalking and fading for 30 years (ASTM D4214 rated), so no re-coating needed. Asphalt requires inspection every 3-5 years and eventual replacement; wood demands regular treatment. Aluminum's CALGreen-verified low-maintenance profile saves hundreds in service calls over its lifetime.

Will hail damage an aluminum roof, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Woodmere's hail risk is moderate, but when storms do occur, Class 4 certification gives insurers confidence in the roof's durability. Many carriers offer discounts (typically 10-15%) for impact-resistant roofing. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification; the combination of non-rusting aluminum, proven impact performance, and premium warranty often qualifies for better rates than asphalt-covered homes.

What's the warranty on an Interlock aluminum roof, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited, non-prorated material coverage for the original owner, protecting against rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, providing the next owner 50 years from completion—a massive resale advantage. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating carries a separate 30-year chalking and fading warranty (ASTM D2244 measured). In practice, these roofs last 50+ years without significant degradation; Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998, and early installations still perform flawlessly. This is the last roof most homeowners buy.

Are aluminum metal roofs recyclable, or do they end up in landfills like asphalt?

Interlock aluminum roofing is about 95% recyclable, breaking the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. When a metal roof eventually reaches end-of-life, the aluminum has scrap value and returns to recycling streams. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, absorb into landfills—an estimated 20 million tons annually in North America. Over Woodmere's 1214 mm annual rainfall and 55 cm of snow, asphalt roofs degrade faster and require earlier replacement, multiplying waste. Choosing aluminum reduces your environmental footprint, qualifies you for CALGreen credits in some jurisdictions, and supports the circular economy. Sustainability and durability align here.
