Review: July 9, 2018Completion: May 5, 2018

Fire every single crew member on the original crew that started my roof. Have a manager that could actually answer my questions and stick to a schedule. It was apparent from the beginning that the crew you subbed this job to was incompetent. They were drinking alcohol on and off the job. 2 of the workers that I talked to , I could smell alcohol on their breathe from 3 feet away. They did not dry in the roof when a rainstorm came in. Resulting in severe leaks inside my home during the night. The crew cut off 2 feet of my 2 awnings to put the roof on. THAT was not part of the deal. Completely ruined the existing awnings beyond repair. The 3 veteran installers that came in to clean up this MESS, did a great job and were done very quickly.

Review: October 24, 2019Completion: August 28, 2019

Everyone did a wonderful job. There was a delay in getting started due to the materials needing to be made, bit that couldn't be helped. I did find a few screws left in the grass around my properry, so I would suggest maybe an extra look around the ground for any leftover debris after project completion. I have had an amazing experience working with Interlock and I will be highly recommending this company to anyone who will listen. Keep up the tremendous service!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Jasper

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Jasper, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Jasper.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow well? We get about 80 cm per year here.

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow reliably because the panels are smooth, their seams are raised, and the lightweight material—the Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft—exerts no structural stress even when snow accumulates. With 80 cm of annual snowfall and roughly 34 freeze-thaw days in Jasper, the rigid aluminum won't absorb freeze-thaw cycling the way asphalt shingles do; it remains dimensionally stable. Optional snow guards are available if you want to control snow discharge.

With over 1400 mm of rain yearly in Jasper, how does metal roofing prevent leaks?

The four-way interlocking design creates a continuous water-shedding system; rain running 1435 mm annually here moves off panels quickly because of their slope and raised seams. When installed to spec over solid deck and underlayment, the panels overlap like shingles but lock together mechanically—no fastener penetrations through the weather surface. The interlocks handle the high-rainfall climate of Lane County by design, not by hoping sealant stays intact.

Why does aluminum roofing resist rust better than steel in a rainy climate like ours?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron and forms a self-healing oxide layer. Steel ruofing oxidizes; aluminum doesn't. In Jasper's wet climate with roughly 3061 sunshine hours annually, your roof's Alunar 70% PVDF coating—applied to both sides and warranted 30 years against fading—protects against the elements while the aluminum substrate remains immune to rust itself. This matters most in high-moisture regions like the PNW where steel would require constant vigilance.

What's the hail rating on Interlock, and could it lower my insurance costs?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available. The warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches—rare in Jasper, where typical gusts reach 100 km/h but severe hail is uncommon. Some insurers offer premium reductions for Class 4 metal roofing; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating. The combination of impact resistance and durability can appeal to underwriters seeking lower-risk roofs.

Is metal roofing light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?

Yes. Interlock's Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs without structural upgrades. In Jasper, where gusts can reach 100 km/h, this lightweight construction means no temporary bracing, no roof truss reinforcement, and faster installation. The material is engineered to meet ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance for direct overlay applications.

What's covered under Interlock's warranty, and how long does it last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, meaning your roof's protection outlasts the typical 34 freeze-thaw cycles Jasper experiences annually and the region's high rainfall. This is the last roof you buy; the warranty doesn't decline over time.

Will metal roofing hold up to Jasper's wind gusts?

Interlock is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec, and Jasper's typical gusts of 100 km/h (about 62 mph) are well within that capacity. The four-way interlocking system locks panels together mechanically, so wind doesn't peel up edges the way it can asphalt shingles. Installation follows ICC-ES ESR-1790, ensuring fastener placement and panel integration meet code for your region's wind load.

Does Interlock meet fire safety standards for Oregon homes?

Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and available in Class A fire rating—the highest classification. Because aluminum contains no organic material, it does not ignite or spread flame. This meets or exceeds Oregon building code requirements and qualifies your roof as fire-resistive in wildfire-prone regions. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IBC/IRC standards, reissued in 2025.

What profile options does Interlock offer for Jasper homes?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each is available in multiple colors and finishes. The Slate suits contemporary and traditional homes; Cedar Shingle and Shake echo wood aesthetics; Mediterranean Tile replicates clay; Standing Seam offers a clean, modern look. All use the same durable 3105-H24 aluminum alloy with Alunar 70% PVDF coating, so your choice is purely aesthetic—durability is identical across profiles.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Jasper, and how experienced are they?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and is the authorized installer for Jasper and Lane County. They handle the full scope: assessment, removal of old roofing, installation over existing deck, and punch-list. Currently, they offer no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Contact them for a site evaluation and to discuss which Interlock profile suits your home's style and your budget.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Jasper’s climate?

Yes. Jasper averages about 80 cm of snow, 1435 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 100 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
