We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Review: March 23, 2017Completion: June 22, 2016

In March of 2016, we contracted with Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems to replace the cedar shingles on our roof. After a couple of dates were scheduled and changed, the job was finally completed on June 22, 2016. The work crew was very good – showed up as scheduled and the work was completed in 2 days. That is, old shingles removed and new Interlock system installed. We are very pleased with the finished look of our roof and have had no problems with it. Everyone in our neighborhood who have seen it also is impressed with the product. We would definitely refer anyone we know to your company if they are looking for a new roof.

Review: June 18, 2014Completion: May 23, 2014

Our house was built 26 years ago beautiful rambler but on the Golf course. The original roof was black cement tiles and 6 years later without any protection from the golf balls we had to change to wood shakes. That roof lasted 20 years with lots of problems like leaks and ants invasion. It did not matter if we had a protective net from the golf balls and it was time to do something. I found Interlock on the Internet and when I checked with our community covenants they did not have anything against metal roofing. I choose the Red slate and I am so very happy with my choice. Now I will never again have ants or leaks because I was watching how the crew sealed everything and the job was done very professionaly.Thank you Interlock for making my home look so beautiful they could have had the delivery of the tiles during the preparation and removal of the shakes; the Federal Express was one week late and the roof sat there all ready for the delivery. I don't know whose fault it was but then the crew worked diligently to finish the job. I am very happy with my new roof the first in the area where I live and everybody is taking about it.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Allyn

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Allyn, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Allyn.

Will a metal roof handle Allyn's snow and ice buildup?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and ice efficiently, especially important given Mason County averages about 33 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 16 freeze-thaw cycles per year. The smooth, hard surface prevents ice dams that crack asphalt shingles, and the lightweight design (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain from accumulated snow. Optional snow guards are available if you want to control shedding in sensitive areas.

Why doesn't aluminum rust in Allyn's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the metal that corrodes in moisture. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a microscopic oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, providing permanent corrosion resistance. This matters in your region: with 1362 mm of rain yearly and frequent wind gusts to 90 km/h, a steel roof would eventually fail, but aluminum thrives. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (applied to both sides) adds 30 years of extra chalking and fading protection as insurance.

What's the warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and does it transfer if I sell?

Interlock's Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, and impact failure. When you sell, the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion, a genuine asset for resale. This longevity means one roof covers your ownership and the next buyer's, eliminating the asphalt cycle of tear-off and replacement every 15–20 years that costs thousands in labor and landfill fees.

How does a metal roof perform in Mason County's wind gusts?

Interlock panels are warranted to withstand wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec—well above your region's typical gusts of 90 km/h (56 mph). The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This is why Interlock has performed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998; the system is designed for extreme conditions, so Allyn's wind environment is well within its margin of safety.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, and the Cedar Shingle installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft. This is why Interlock can install directly over most existing roofs without costly framing upgrades. In Allyn, where 33 cm of snow annually adds temporary load, the lightweight aluminum actually reduces total roof stress compared to traditional materials, while the four-way interlock distributes that load evenly.

With 1362 mm of rain per year in Allyn, how does metal roofing stay watertight?

The four-way interlocking panel system and proper installation with solid deck underlayment create a watertight assembly. Each panel locks to the next on all four sides, shedding water downslope with no exposed fasteners to leak. Combined with ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance and professional installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) since 1997, your roof handles heavy rainfall without leak risk. The system has performed on coastal homes in salt-air climates and continues performing in Mason County's 2915 annual sunshine hours and frequent wet periods.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more initially but is the last roof you buy. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–20 years and require tear-off (landfill cost) and replacement labor every cycle. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for you plus 50-year transferability for the next owner means you avoid that repeated expense, labor, and disruption over 40+ years. Current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—terms that improve the math significantly. The math shifts further if you need to reinforce structure for heavy tile (Interlock avoids that cost).

What design options are available in Interlock metal roofing?

Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—so you choose the aesthetic that fits your home and neighborhood. Each uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 aluminum alloy manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, with Alunar 70% PVDF coating in multiple colors. Whether you prefer the architectural appeal of slate, the textured warmth of cedar shingle, or the Mediterranean character of tile, you get that look plus aluminum's corrosion resistance and 120 mph wind warranty—benefits traditional materials can't match in Allyn's wet, blustery climate.

Is metal roofing fire-resistant?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and available with Class A fire classification—the highest rating. Aluminum cannot ignite or contribute fuel to a fire, unlike asphalt or wood shingles. This matters for your safety and may reduce homeowners insurance premiums in some cases. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025) documents this non-combustible rating under IBC/IRC standards. In a region experiencing occasional wildfire risk or if you simply want the peace of mind that your roof won't become a fuel source, metal roofing eliminates that concern entirely.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, breaking the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Asphalt shingles, replaced every 15–20 years, become landfill waste; metal roofing lasts your lifetime and the next owner's 50 years, then returns to the aluminum recycling stream with nearly full material recovery. Manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998, Interlock's proven longevity means fewer roofing materials entering landfills over the same 50-year period. This circular approach aligns with CALGreen verification and reduces the environmental cost per year of roof ownership.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Allyn’s climate?

Yes. Allyn averages about 33 cm of snow, 1362 mm of rain, roughly 16 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 90 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
