We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Review: March 23, 2017Completion: June 22, 2016

In March of 2016, we contracted with Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems to replace the cedar shingles on our roof. After a couple of dates were scheduled and changed, the job was finally completed on June 22, 2016. The work crew was very good – showed up as scheduled and the work was completed in 2 days. That is, old shingles removed and new Interlock system installed. We are very pleased with the finished look of our roof and have had no problems with it. Everyone in our neighborhood who have seen it also is impressed with the product. We would definitely refer anyone we know to your company if they are looking for a new roof.

Review: June 18, 2014Completion: May 23, 2014

Our house was built 26 years ago beautiful rambler but on the Golf course. The original roof was black cement tiles and 6 years later without any protection from the golf balls we had to change to wood shakes. That roof lasted 20 years with lots of problems like leaks and ants invasion. It did not matter if we had a protective net from the golf balls and it was time to do something. I found Interlock on the Internet and when I checked with our community covenants they did not have anything against metal roofing. I choose the Red slate and I am so very happy with my choice. Now I will never again have ants or leaks because I was watching how the crew sealed everything and the job was done very professionaly.Thank you Interlock for making my home look so beautiful they could have had the delivery of the tiles during the preparation and removal of the shakes; the Federal Express was one week late and the roof sat there all ready for the delivery. I don't know whose fault it was but then the crew worked diligently to finish the job. I am very happy with my new roof the first in the area where I live and everybody is taking about it.

Review: August 15, 2018Completion: August 6, 2018

The adjusted bid didn't show up for final financing, there could have had better communication between Ross and everybody else, Ross and I discussed at length and the gutters didn't end up on the installers paperwork, so, that's why it didn't get done correctly, because the information didn't get passed on to him. Once it was identified, Ross made arrangements to get that done. the skylight that showed up was the wrong size so the installer had to order a new one and took three weeks to show up. It was an outdoor skylight so it really didn't matter but they should have been more thorough with that.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Herron

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Herron, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Herron.

Does metal roofing handle snow load well in Herron's climate?

Yes — Interlock's aluminum panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft, so they support snow accumulation without structural reinforcement. Herron averages about 33 cm of snow annually, and the four-way interlocking design sheds snow evenly while resisting wind gusts up to 90 km/h that often accompany winter weather. The lightweight construction eliminates the cost and complexity of roof reinforcement that traditional slate or tile requires.

How does a metal roof handle Herron's heavy rainfall?

Herron receives approximately 1362 mm of rain yearly, and the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed water continuously without pooling. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, preventing water infiltration at seams. When installed over a solid deck and underlayment, the system is as leak-proof as any permanent roof, with no degradation over time — aluminum cannot rot or absorb water.

Why won't an aluminum metal roof rust like steel roofing?

Aluminum contains no iron, the element that oxidizes and causes rust. Instead, aluminum develops a thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched — a natural protection process that never stops. Interlock panels are made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. This dual-coat protection is especially critical in Herron's wet climate with 16 freeze-thaw days per year.

Can metal roofing withstand Herron's wind gusts?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Herron's typical gusts reach about 90 km/h, with seasonal extremes lower than that warranty threshold. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This design ensures your roof stays secure through Herron winters.

How much lighter is metal roofing than slate or tile?

Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile is approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile — it installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft versus 15+ lb/sq ft for traditional tile. This weight difference means no structural reinforcement is needed, and the roof often installs directly over most existing roofs, cutting labor and demolition costs. For a typical Herron home, that eliminates thousands in beam and joist upgrades.

What's the warranty on an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once — the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. Over a typical 50+ year lifespan, this is the last roof you'll install, eliminating the asphalt tear-off cycle that occurs roughly every 15-20 years.

Does metal roofing reduce cooling costs in summer?

Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs. Herron receives about 2915 sunshine hours annually, so summer cooling load is real. A reflective metal roof can lower interior temperature and reduce air-conditioning run time compared to dark asphalt, shrinking utility costs over the roof's 50+ year life.

Is metal roofing fire-resistant?

Interlock aluminum panels are non-combustible and available with Class A fire classification (ICC-ES ESR-1790, reissued 2025). Since aluminum cannot burn, the material itself contributes zero fuel load to a fire event. This is especially valuable in Herron, where wet winters and frequent moisture mean wood-based roofing materials carry ongoing mold and decay risk. A non-combustible roof eliminates that hazard entirely.

How long does a metal roof installation take in Herron?

Most residential installations take 2-5 days depending on roof size and complexity. Because Interlock panels are lightweight and ship in standard sizes, they're faster to unload and position than heavier materials. Many homes install directly over the existing roof — no tearoff required — which further reduces timeline and debris. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and understands Herron's seasonal weather windows.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Asphalt roofing costs less initially but requires replacement every 15-20 years, meaning 3-4 cycles over 50-60 years; each includes labor, disposal, and disruption. Metal roofing costs more upfront but lasts 50+ years as a single installation with no major maintenance beyond occasional cleaning. Over the roof's life, the math favors metal — especially when you factor in Herron's 1362 mm annual rainfall and 16 freeze-thaw days per year, which accelerate asphalt deterioration. Current regional promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Herron’s climate?

Yes. Herron averages about 33 cm of snow, 1362 mm of rain, roughly 16 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 90 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
