Review: July 27, 2007Completion: July 25, 2007

Thanks for a very positive roofing experience! Our new roof is so beautiful we’re thinking of charging a fee to all the gawking neighbors that stop by to admire it!!! This was fun, positive experience from start to finish. Our sales rep spent three hours at our home going over every possible detail with us. He was knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our questions. As you can see by the pictures we have a pretty basic roof. There was no tear off to do; still, our three installers were 80% done on the very first day! Everything was done and cleaned up to our satisfaction by the end of day two. Our installers were friendly, courteous and hard working. I watched them for a few minutes as they all worked like a finely tuned machine installing our roof in perfect rhythm. For us, Interlock meant that the third time was the charm. We’d tried to do business with two other companies. The first took a large amount of money as a down payment and gave absolutely no customer service for two months. We got our money back and started over. The second company gave an inaccurate bid. Needless to say, we entered into this contract with some trepidation. interlock is a fabulous company and we’d recommend them to anyone in the market for a new roof!

Review: July 22, 2007Completion: March 13, 1999

We are writing this letter to show our appreciation for the wonderful job that was done on our roof. From the date your company representative met with us in our home to the date of completion, words cannot express how completely satisfied we are with your company. We definitely wanted a quality roof and were very impressed by the representation that was given to us. The product you provide was enough for us to make our decision, however it was a huge plus not to have to deal with a pushy salesman and to have such polite, friendly and hard working men providing the service. It was a pleasure to have them around our home. The quality, craftsmanship and lifetime warranty of this roof far outweighs the increased costs over other roof systems. However, other roof systems don't come with lifetime warranties and many only last for 8 to 10 years. We may have paid a little more initially, but how wonderful it is to know we will never have to re-roof our home again. And in addition to all of the above, it looks so beautiful and has added so much style to our home. I never dreamed a roof could make such a difference. Again, Thank you so much and be sure to know we will highly recommend your company to all of our family and friends.

Review: January 13, 2026Completion: June 18, 2025

I am very pleased with the entire experience with Interlock Roofing. Ross did a fantastic job of showing me all of the options available, and explaining how Interlock is different from other roofing. This was not a hard sales pitch. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable a metal roof was. I had five other estimates for a traditional composite roof, and the price difference for a forever roof was negligible considering all the benefits. Next, the installation. These guys were amazing! Only two guys doing the demo and reroof, but very hard workers and did a fantastic job. It seems rare these days to find skilled tradesmen that take pride in their work, and these guys exceeded my expectations. I also took advantage of Interlock’s financing. Drew was very helpful and accommodating. The whole process was taken care of through Interlock, making it super convenient and great communication throughout. I will highly recommend:)

Review: August 1, 2006Completion: July 18, 2006

We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.

I have already recommended them. Those guys were amazing. Peter, Victor, and the other installation guys were just unbelievable. It is a great company, and they did a great job with my roof. I get compliments all the time. It was a wonderful experience. They did a wonderful job on the house. It looks fantastic.

Review: October 4, 2022Completion: October 4, 2022

Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!

My wife and I want to express our complete satisfaction with the "Aged Copper" roof your firm installed on our "Barn-house" and gazebo. The two roofs have a high quality appearance and they enhance the looks of the property. We are looking forward to many years of satisfaction. We are now planning to re-paint the house with a color to better blend with the roof. The work performed by your installers was outstanding. They were friendly and very professional. They worked efficiently and energetically, and it was obvious they had the skills to do the job. Thank you for being such an excellent firm.

My husband and I would like to thank you for coming to our residence and explaining your product and all of its advantages. We were very impressed at this time and excited to start the beautification process of our home, which has been in my husband’s family for 5 generations now. It has undergone many remodels, upgrades, and changes throughout the years with a lot of help from friends and family. We will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year. The new roof is definitely a wonderful way to do so! The whole Interlock family was friendly and extremely easy to work with from the beginning of this process to the end. The job was started on time and finished when promised. We are very pleased with how smoothly the project went and very thankful that we were not the ones on top of the house!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Skookum Inlet

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Skookum Inlet, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Skookum Inlet.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Skookum Inlet winters?

Yes. Interlock panels are four-way interlocked, meaning snow and ice sheets cannot slide off unexpectedly. Your region averages about 40 cm of snow annually with roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack asphalt shingles and wood shakes. Aluminum panels expand and contract minimally compared to those materials, preventing the stress fractures that ice dams exploit. The lightweight design (Standing Seam at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) carries snow load safely without structural reinforcement, and the interlocking seams shed meltwater reliably when it matters.

Why won't my metal roof rust on the coast near Skookum Inlet?

Interlock roofing uses 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy—aluminum contains zero iron, the element that causes rust. Instead, aluminum forms a self-healing oxide layer that repairs itself when scratched. This is why Interlock installations range from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both panel sides adds 30-year warranty protection against chalking and fading. Steel roofs rust; aluminum simply does not. That distinction matters for durability in your marine-influenced climate.

Can a metal roof survive Skookum Inlet wind gusts?

Absolutely. Your region experiences typical gusts around 99 km/h (about 62 mph), well below the 120 mph warranty threshold for Interlock panels when installed to specification. Four-way interlocking means each panel locks to its neighbors on all sides—gusts cannot lift or separate panels the way they can with shingles. UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating (the highest available) confirms the engineering. Over 25+ years of installations from coastal Washington to BC, Interlock has documented zero wind-related failures in comparable wind climates. The system's proven reliability is documented in ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790.

Will I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement needed. The Interlock Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing roof structures without engineering upgrades. Compare that to wood shake, which weighs more and rots over time, requiring eventual replacement. Your home's framing was built to carry asphalt shingles; aluminum panels weigh less. Installers appreciate the simplicity; homeowners appreciate the cost savings and the fact that existing rafters and trusses never need reinforcement.

How does heavy rainfall affect a metal roof in this region?

Skookum Inlet receives about 1370 mm of annual rainfall—roughly double the national average—making leak protection critical. Interlock's four-way interlocking seams and ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance ensure water drains downslope and outward, not inward. Each panel locks on all four sides, creating a barrier that standing water cannot penetrate. Unlike asphalt shingles, which granule-loss and UV degradation compromise in wet climates, aluminum panels' Alunar coating maintains integrity. The solid deck and underlayment create the same quiet performance as asphalt without the degradation risk. Heavy rainfall does not age aluminum the way it ages organic materials.

Do energy-efficiency metal roof colors really lower cooling costs?

Yes, measurably. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and radiates into your home. Cool Roof Rating Council testing confirms the performance. In Skookum Inlet, with about 2881 annual sunshine hours, that reflectance reduces attic temperature rise during warmer months—lowering air-conditioning load and extending shingle life in adjacent structures. Asphalt absorbs heat; aluminum reflects it. The physics is not subjective. Your utility bills reflect the difference over decades.

Is a metal roof cheaper than replacing asphalt shingles every 20 years?

Over a lifetime, yes. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in wet climates like Skookum Inlet (1370 mm rain, 34 freeze-thaw cycles annually degrade them faster). That means 3–4 replacements, tear-offs, and landfill costs over 60 years. Interlock's Guardian lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner, transferable for 50 years to the next owner) covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling. No tear-off cycle, no repeated labor costs. Current financing includes no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. The math favors a single, permanent roof.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian warranty is non-prorated lifetime coverage for the original owner against rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It is one-time transferable, granting the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion—an uncommon feature that adds resale appeal. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish carries its own 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 measured). Unlike prorated warranties that diminish over time, this covers material defects in full. Hailstone perforation is covered up to 1.5 inches. That breadth of protection reflects engineering confidence built over manufacturing since 1998 in Delta, BC.

Is a metal roof a fire hazard in Skookum Inlet?

No—metal roofs are the opposite. Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and carries Class A fire classification (the highest fire-resistance rating available). Non-combustible means the material will not ignite, spread flames, or produce smoke under fire conditions. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 documents this compliance. In regions prone to wind-driven embers or wildfire exposure, Class A protection is an insurance advantage and often a code requirement. Aluminum simply cannot burn. This is one area where metal outperforms asphalt and wood shakes categorically and without exception.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Skookum Inlet?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served Mason County and the surrounding region since 1997—long before Interlock's global Antarctic and coastal-salt-air installations. They understand local building codes, seasonal weather patterns (1370 mm rain, 40 cm snow, 99 km/h gusts), and the specific profiles suited to Pacific Northwest architecture. They can assess your existing roof, explain installation over it, and handle warranty registration. Current promotions include no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Contact them for a site evaluation and timeline for your home.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Skookum Inlet’s climate?

Yes. Skookum Inlet averages about 40 cm of snow, 1370 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
