Better communication of the start date of the roof installation We truly love our Interlock roof on our family cabin

Review: August 15, 2018Completion: August 6, 2018

The adjusted bid didn't show up for final financing, there could have had better communication between Ross and everybody else, Ross and I discussed at length and the gutters didn't end up on the installers paperwork, so, that's why it didn't get done correctly, because the information didn't get passed on to him. Once it was identified, Ross made arrangements to get that done. the skylight that showed up was the wrong size so the installer had to order a new one and took three weeks to show up. It was an outdoor skylight so it really didn't matter but they should have been more thorough with that.

We were extremely pleased with Interlock Roofing as our selection to install an aluminum roof on our house and two outbuildings. The installation team were extremely hard workers and were always courteous and conscientious and left our project very clean. We would highly recommend all of them to anyone interested in a new roof including Paul Wright and the administration staff. Ron and Joanne Quiring nothing

Review: March 23, 2017Completion: June 22, 2016

In March of 2016, we contracted with Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems to replace the cedar shingles on our roof. After a couple of dates were scheduled and changed, the job was finally completed on June 22, 2016. The work crew was very good – showed up as scheduled and the work was completed in 2 days. That is, old shingles removed and new Interlock system installed. We are very pleased with the finished look of our roof and have had no problems with it. Everyone in our neighborhood who have seen it also is impressed with the product. We would definitely refer anyone we know to your company if they are looking for a new roof.

Review: June 18, 2014Completion: May 23, 2014

Our house was built 26 years ago beautiful rambler but on the Golf course. The original roof was black cement tiles and 6 years later without any protection from the golf balls we had to change to wood shakes. That roof lasted 20 years with lots of problems like leaks and ants invasion. It did not matter if we had a protective net from the golf balls and it was time to do something. I found Interlock on the Internet and when I checked with our community covenants they did not have anything against metal roofing. I choose the Red slate and I am so very happy with my choice. Now I will never again have ants or leaks because I was watching how the crew sealed everything and the job was done very professionaly.Thank you Interlock for making my home look so beautiful they could have had the delivery of the tiles during the preparation and removal of the shakes; the Federal Express was one week late and the roof sat there all ready for the delivery. I don't know whose fault it was but then the crew worked diligently to finish the job. I am very happy with my new roof the first in the area where I live and everybody is taking about it.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Strait View

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Strait View, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Strait View.

Does a metal roof handle Strait View's snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow reliably and resist the damage freeze-thaw cycling causes to asphalt and wood. With about 58 cm of snow and roughly 26 freeze-thaw days per year, Strait View homes face real seasonal stress. Aluminum doesn't absorb water, split from ice expansion, or degrade as temperatures swing. Metal's smooth surface and light weight (the Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft) prevent dangerous snow loads that crack traditional roofs. Snow guards can be added if desired.

Will a metal roof rust in Strait View's wet climate?

No. Interlock roofs are roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum—the material contains no iron, so it cannot rust. In wet regions, aluminum forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides and warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. With 1100 mm of annual rainfall, this dual-coat strategy matters: it protects against corrosion from constant moisture while maintaining the finish that steel roofs lose quickly.

Can a metal roof survive Strait View's wind gusts?

Yes. Strait View experiences gusts up to 103 km/h, and Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind force across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This engineering, combined with ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 compliance, means your roof will perform well above the local conditions your home actually encounters.

How does a metal roof perform in Strait View's heavy rainfall?

The overlapping panel design and four-way interlocking mechanism create a drainage path that directs water downslope; moisture cannot collect or pool between panels. With 1100 mm of annual rainfall, leak protection is non-negotiable. Interlock's aluminum construction resists water penetration and corrosion at every joint. When installed over a solid deck with proper underlayment by a qualified installer like Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., the result is a roof that handles heavy, sustained rain the same way asphalt does—but without rotting, splitting, or absorbing moisture over time.

Does Interlock roofing help with hail damage or insurance costs?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available. The warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Strait View's 10-year climate data shows occasional severe weather, Class 4 impact resistance may qualify you for insurance discounts on homeowners policies; contact your agent to confirm eligibility. The non-combustible aluminum and exceptional durability already reduce long-term risk, which insurers recognize.

Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof?

Yes. The Interlock Mediterranean Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is required, and the roof can be installed directly over most existing asphalt shingles. For Strait View homes, this eliminates costly tear-off and disposal, shortens installation time, and reduces labor costs. Your home's framing carries the weight easily, and the existing deck provides the solid base Interlock requires.

What is the warranty on an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—problems that plague asphalt and wood in Strait View's 1100 mm annual rainfall and 58 cm snow. The warranty is one-time transferable to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion, significantly boosting your home's appeal to future buyers. This is the roof you install once.

Do Interlock metal roofs reduce cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, reflecting heat that asphalt shingles absorb and re-radiate into your attic. With about 3188 sunshine hours per year, Strait View receives meaningful solar exposure. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the reflective benefit. While Strait View's mean temperature is around 10°C, reducing summer heat gain lowers air conditioning demand and extends shingle life by keeping attic temperatures lower during warmer months.

Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable. When your roof reaches end of life—or never, given the lifetime warranty—the material returns to aluminum production rather than a landfill. Asphalt tear-off generates thousands of tons of waste annually. Interlock's manufacture since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installation from coastal homes to Antarctica proves the material's durability, so your roof likely never becomes waste. Choosing metal breaks the asphalt-replacement cycle and honors Strait View's natural environment.

Is a metal roof worth the cost over time?

Yes, when you measure over the roof's actual lifespan. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15–20 years in Strait View's wet, freeze-thaw climate; you replace it multiple times. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty, non-prorated coverage, and proven durability across 26 freeze-thaw days and 1100 mm rainfall annually mean one installation covers your ownership. No tear-offs, no replacement labor, no asphalt re-roofing costs. Current financing—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—makes the initial investment manageable. A single roof you never replace is the lowest total cost of ownership.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Strait View’s climate?

Yes. Strait View averages about 58 cm of snow, 1100 mm of rain, roughly 26 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 103 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
