Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Review: May 17, 2017

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Review: May 17, 2017

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Jefferson Meadows

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Jefferson Meadows, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Jefferson Meadows.

How does a metal roof handle Jefferson Meadows' 90 cm of annual snow?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, hard surface prevents water from pooling and refreezing into dams. With about 90 cm of snow per year and approximately 84 freeze-thaw cycles annually in this region, a material that won't absorb moisture or rot becomes critical. The lightweight design—the Shingle profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—distributes snow load evenly without requiring structural reinforcement. Optional snow guards can be installed to manage controlled release if desired. Aluminum's self-healing oxide layer remains unaffected by the repeated expansion and contraction Wisconsin homeowners experience.

Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof in Wisconsin?

No. Aluminum cannot rust or rot, which eliminates the two primary failure modes for wood and steel roofing in freeze-thaw climates. Jefferson Meadows experiences about 84 freeze-thaw days annually, and about 787 mm of rain—conditions that would degrade asphalt shingles and vulnerable materials over time. Because roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy contains no iron, the repeated expansion and contraction cycles that crack concrete tile and split wood shake have no effect. The Alunar® PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against fading, protects the substrate further. After more than two decades of installations from coastal salt-air environments to Antarctic research stations, Interlock's product has proven itself in extreme moisture and temperature cycling.

Can a metal roof withstand Jefferson Meadows' wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Jefferson Meadows averages typical gusts around 93 km/h, well within the design envelope. The four-way interlocking panel system locks each sheet to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This method has been proven through ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) and real-world deployment from coastal to extreme-weather regions. Insurance companies often recognize the structural superiority of mechanical interlock over traditional fastened systems.

Does a metal roof offer protection against hail damage?

Interlock aluminum roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This level of impact resistance typically qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts in hail-prone regions. Unlike asphalt shingles, which dent and bruise under impact, aluminum's hardness and flexibility absorb shock without permanent deformation. The product has been installed since 1998 and tested rigorously for impact durability. Because the material is non-combustible and non-fragile, claims for weather damage are straightforward and repair costs are predictable—a practical advantage when protecting a $30,000+ roof investment.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Iron oxidizes when exposed to oxygen and water, creating the red corrosion that weakens steel roofing over time. Roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloys instead form a thin, transparent oxide layer that actually protects the underlying metal. When that layer is scratched—by foot traffic, debris, or weather—it self-heals automatically. Interlock coats both sides of each panel with Alunar® PVDF fluorocarbon finish for additional defense, especially valuable in regions with high rainfall (about 787 mm annually in Jefferson Meadows) or salt-air exposure. This dual-layer approach explains why installations range from coastal homes to Antarctic research facilities without corrosion failure.

What maintenance does an aluminum metal roof actually require?

Minimal. Unlike asphalt shingles that require periodic repairs and replacement, or wood shake that demands regular treatment and inspection, aluminum metal roofing needs only basic care: annual gutter cleaning and occasional debris removal. The smooth surface naturally sheds dirt and organic growth, and the Alunar® coating (CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance) remains stable over 30 years. With about 3,074 annual sunshine hours and roughly 787 mm of rain in Jefferson Meadows, the combination of UV exposure and moisture actually cleans the surface. No power-washing, no chemical treatments, no splitting, cracking, or curling to monitor. This passive durability is one reason the Guardian Warranty covers the original owner for life—the product simply doesn't fail in the ways that require maintenance.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's lifespan, yes. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–20 years and require costly replacement every two decades; metal roofing's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner) means you buy one roof, not three or four. Initial cost is higher, but amortized over 50+ years, the total cost per year drops below asphalt. Consider Jefferson Meadows' climate: 84 freeze-thaw cycles annually and 90 cm of snow stress asphalt severely, shortening its effective life. Metal roofing also qualifies for energy credits (energy-efficient), potential hail-impact insurance discounts, and avoids the cumulative cost of maintenance repairs. The transferable 50-year warranty to the next owner adds resale value immediately.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in Wisconsin?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorbing it, reducing cooling loads in warm months. The Aged Copper Penny profile, for example, has initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—meaning it bounces sunlight back into the atmosphere instead of converting it to interior heat. In Jefferson Meadows' climate with about 3,074 annual sunshine hours, this reflectance difference translates to measurable cooling savings, particularly during summer peak-load periods. Asphalt shingles absorb far more solar energy, warming your home and driving air-conditioning runtime. Cool Roof Rating Council certification ensures these values are independently verified, not marketing claims.

How long does it take to install a metal roof, and can it go over my existing roof?

Installation timelines vary with roof size and complexity, but typically range from 2–5 days for a residential home. One major advantage: Interlock panels' extraordinary lightweight construction—the Mediterranean Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means installation can proceed over most existing roofs without structural reinforcement. This eliminates the cost and disruption of tear-off and disposal. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel securely, and the installation process follows ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 specifications for both new and retrofit applications. Local installers at Interlock Metal Roofing, serving this region since 2001, manage the complete timeline from inspection through final walkthrough.

What roof styles does Interlock offer for Jefferson Meadows homes?

Five distinct profiles: Slate (a refined, geometric look), Cedar Shingle (traditional New England character), Shake (larger texture with rustic depth), Mediterranean Tile (warm, dimensional barrel-tile appearance), and Standing Seam (modern, clean lines). Each profile is manufactured using roofing-grade 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 aluminum alloy with a durable Alunar® PVDF coating, so performance is identical across styles—the choice is purely aesthetic. The interlocking aluminum construction means these profiles deliver authentic visual texture without the weight penalties or maintenance demands of genuine slate, wood, or tile. Homeowners select based on architectural preference and neighborhood context, knowing durability and warranty coverage are consistent.
