Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

Review: June 8, 2023Completion: April 30, 2023

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in West Middleton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in West Middleton, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in West Middleton.

How does metal roofing handle West Middleton's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock's aluminum panels shed snow effectively and resist ice dam formation because aluminum has no thermal mass to warm and refreeze meltwater at the eaves. West Middleton averages about 89 cm of snow annually with roughly 84 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions that cause asphalt shingles to crack and curl. Aluminum expands and contracts minimally across temperature swings, and the four-way interlocking design sheds meltwater quickly. Snow guards are optional and install easily if you want to manage avalanche timing on lower roofs.

Why doesn't freeze-thaw damage hurt aluminum the way it damages asphalt or wood shingles?

Aluminum is inherently immune to the moisture-absorption cycle that destroys asphalt and wood in freeze-thaw climates. Asphalt shingles absorb rain (West Middleton receives about 781 mm annually) and then crack when that water freezes inside the material. Aluminum absorbs zero moisture, so no ice forms within the panel itself. The Alunar coating on both sides seals the material completely, and the self-healing oxide layer prevents any micro-cracks from initiating corrosion—a critical advantage over the 84 freeze-thaw days this region experiences each year.

Is aluminum roofing prone to rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?

No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. The material forms a self-healing oxide layer that actually protects it further when scratched. Wisconsin's 781 mm of annual rainfall is no threat to aluminum the way it is to steel roofing, which oxidizes and deteriorates. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) finished with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides, warranted 30 years against corrosion. This dual-coat approach guards against salt air, moisture, and the acidic deposition that corrodes ferrous metals.

Will a metal roof reduce my homeowner's insurance in Wisconsin?

Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 impact ratings, and Interlock's panels earn UL 2218 Class 4—the highest available. The warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches, which exceeds typical Wisconsin severe-weather hail. To qualify for a discount, contact your agent with the product specs and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation. Some insurers also recognize that metal roofs don't require tear-offs every 15–20 years, reducing long-term claims exposure. The savings vary by policy and location, but the durability rating itself strengthens your application.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over 50+ years, Interlock aluminum costs significantly less than the cycle of replacing asphalt shingles every 15–20 years, plus ice dam repairs and moisture damage. An asphalt roof over 50 years requires multiple replacements, tear-off labor, and landfill fees; Interlock installs once and transfers to the next owner with a 50-year warranty term on the one-time transfer. Initial cost runs higher, but when you divide lifetime expense by the roof's actual lifespan—often 50 years or longer—the annual cost drops below asphalt. Add energy savings from the 0.84 emissivity on energy-efficient colors, and the payback horizon shortens further.

Can metal roofing reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors have solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity 0.84, meaning they reflect rather than absorb the sun's heat. Even in Wisconsin—which averages about 3089 sunshine hours per year—this reflectance reduces cooling load in July and August. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the thermal performance. Lighter colors like Aged Copper Penny perform best; darker finishes still outperform asphalt by a wide margin. The impact is modest in cooler climates but compounds over decades, especially as summers trend warmer.

How well does metal roofing hold up to Wisconsin's wind gusts?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and West Middleton's typical gusts reach about 104 km/h (65 mph). The four-way interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire panel system, not point-fastening like traditional shingles. Proper installation by a local professional ensures sealing and fastener spacing meet the UL and ESR-1790 criteria for maximum uplift resistance. Even severe spring storms in this region will not compromise a properly installed Interlock roof.

Can I install a metal roof over my existing asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock's extreme light weight—the Slate profile installs at about 0.41 lb/sq ft—means most homes can accept metal roofing over existing shingles without structural reinforcement. A professional installer (Interlock has served this region since 2001) will inspect your deck for soft spots and proper ventilation, then secure the new system directly over the old roof, eliminating expensive tear-off labor and landfill hauling. Existing shingles become a thermal break and sound dampener. Typical installation takes 1–2 weeks depending on roof size and weather—West Middleton's 89 cm of snow limits winter work windows, but spring through fall is ideal.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion date, giving a two-owner lifespan that far exceeds asphalt or wood. The Alunar coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards. This structure reflects the material's actual durability: aluminum and fluorocarbon coatings last decades beyond typical roofing cycles. Read the full terms, but the transferable design makes aluminum a true long-term investment.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, while asphalt shingles end up in landfills by the millions of tons annually. Over 50 years, a homeowner replaces asphalt 3–4 times, generating repeated tear-off waste; aluminum installs once. The material's light weight also cuts transportation emissions. Interlock has manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998 using established recycling infrastructure. The CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance profile further lowers lifetime environmental cost by eliminating the chemical treatments, sealants, and repairs that asphalt requires. Choosing aluminum breaks the asphalt replacement cycle that defines residential roofing's waste footprint.

Is a metal roof a good choice for West Middleton’s climate?

Yes. West Middleton averages about 89 cm of snow, 781 mm of rain, roughly 84 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 104 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
