Review: June 17, 2017Completion: February 17, 2017

I have made, and continuously still make, numerous recommendations to family & friends to install a Interlock roof. And, I have produced pictures on demand that I stored on my smart phone. If possible, I would be appreciative if I could get the drone footage that Jesse had taken after the finishing of the installation. I believe it would be a great selling point coming from a true customer to help propel the Interlock name. There are just a couple areas on the roof that the installation crew could have touched-on during the installation, but overall the roof looks simply amazing. Quality certainly displays the professionalism the installers had put into their work. Since the installation of our new roof, we have received numerous compliments from many of our neighbors that walk around our subdivision, plus a handful of neighbors in the adjoining subdivisions. Many questions have been asked with many answers given. We are definitely happy with our new Interlock roof. We have NOT once questioned or second guessed our decision to install an Interlock roof. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made for re-investing in our home...Thank you, Interlock!

Excellent roof! Looks good! The installers were courteous and professional. Put the tarp all around the house and kept the site very clean. I was impressed with their super service. They bent over backward to please us. The A-Team of Roofing!

Review: April 10, 2017Completion: March 17, 2015

I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: July 31, 2008

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off.

I wanted to drop you a note to tell you how much we like (love) our new roof. Installation went smoothly, and the crew was extremely nice, especially Jesse and Sal, the ones I talked with the most. Most of all, they cleaned up any messes every night.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: September 24, 2014

We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt.

Review: June 9, 2026Completion: June 10, 2026

Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don't nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn't rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

Review: June 8, 2023Completion: April 30, 2023

The crew was great and easy to work with. They need to advertise their project, and it would be great to have that sign out front. I have had people ask about where I got it done. Everyone was very polite, courteous, and helpful. They answered all of my questions.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Greentree

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Greentree, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Greentree.

How does a metal roof handle Wisconsin's heavy snow and ice?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow reliably without the ice-dam problems that plague asphalt shingles. Greentree averages about 89 cm of snow annually, and aluminum's smooth, hard surface resists the freeze-thaw cycling that cracks traditional materials—you'll experience roughly 84 freeze-thaw days per year here. Unlike slate or tile, which can fracture under ice stress, aluminum flexes slightly and sheds meltwater cleanly. Snow guards are available if you prefer to manage runoff consciously.

Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof in Dane County?

No—aluminum's molecular structure makes it naturally resistant to the 84 annual freeze-thaw days typical in Greentree. The material doesn't absorb water, so ice cannot form within the panel and cause expansion damage the way it does in wood shakes or concrete tile. The Alunar coating (applied to both sides) protects the aluminum oxide layer itself; even when scratched, the oxide self-heals. After 25 years of Wisconsin winters, Interlock installations remain watertight and structurally sound.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a climate like Greentree's?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air and moisture. In Greentree's climate, with 781 mm of annual rain and gusts reaching 104 km/h, this natural barrier actually strengthens over time. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds 30 years of extra protection against fading and chalking. You'll never deal with rust stains, rust bleeding, or the structural rot that steel roofing invites.

Are Interlock metal roof panels strong enough for Wisconsin wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Greentree's typical wind gusts reach about 104 km/h (65 mph). The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors in all four directions, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners. This engineering is why Interlock has performed reliably from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. Your roof will outperform both the wind itself and the test standards it meets.

Can my home's structure handle a metal roof without reinforcement?

Yes—and that's one of aluminum's greatest advantages. The Interlock Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles weigh approximately 0.41 to 0.58 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than the real concrete or clay tile it replicates. Many Greentree homes can install Interlock directly over their existing asphalt shingles without adding a single support beam. This saves thousands in structural work and means your roof replacement won't trigger unexpected building complications. A structural engineer can confirm your specific home's capacity in minutes.

Does Interlock's hail rating help with homeowners insurance in Wisconsin?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest hail classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize Class 4 ratings and offer premium discounts; contact your agent with the UL listing number (33876) to confirm your home's eligibility. Greentree's thunderstorm risk is real, and having a roof that won't need claims or replacement after hail gives you both peace of mind and potential savings. Aluminum's non-brittle nature means it absorbs impact rather than cracking under stress.

How long will an Interlock metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?

Interlock backs your roof with a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale appeal. No other roofing material offers non-prorated coverage for life. In Greentree's 781 mm annual rainfall and 89 cm snow climate, a properly installed aluminum roof routinely lasts 50+ years. You're buying the last roof you'll install on that home.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Interlock requires minimal maintenance—far less than asphalt, wood, or tile. Twice yearly, rinse debris from the panels and ensure gutters are clear; that's it. Unlike asphalt, which deteriorates in Greentree's 3089 annual sunshine hours and loses granules in gutters, aluminum doesn't degrade from UV exposure. Wood shakes split and curl in freeze-thaw cycles. Tile cracks under hail and ice. Aluminum simply sheds water and weather. The Alunar coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) means no repainting, no sealant reapplication. One roof, one warranty, one invoice—then nothing.

Is aluminum roofing truly more sustainable than asphalt shingles?

Yes—aluminum breaks the tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Interlock panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, and aluminum retains its value as scrap material. By contrast, a typical asphalt roof replacement generates tons of shingles destined for landfill; Greentree experiences about 89 cm of snowmelt and 781 mm of rain annually, accelerating asphalt deterioration and turnover. Installing Interlock once means no future replacement waste. When you eventually recycle the aluminum, you're returning raw material to manufacturers for new products. It's the greenest roofing choice for homeowners who care about their environmental footprint.

Does Interlock have a local installer serving Greentree and Dane County?

Yes—Interlock Metal Roofing has been serving this region since 2001 and knows Greentree and Dane County's climate, building codes, and installation challenges intimately. When you work with a local installer, you're not waiting weeks for a traveling crew; you're getting someone who understands how 84 freeze-thaw days and 104 km/h gusts affect roof performance, who'll stand behind the installation, and who'll be here for warranty service. Our team is ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliant and trained on all five profiles. Contact us for a no-pressure site visit and a transparent estimate.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Greentree’s climate?

Yes. Greentree averages about 89 cm of snow, 781 mm of rain, roughly 84 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 104 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
