Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Skyview Meadows

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Skyview Meadows, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Skyview Meadows.

Will Interlock metal roofing handle Skyview Meadows' snow load and ice dams?

Yes—the four-way interlocking panels are engineered for snow retention and won't buckle under load. Skyview Meadows gets about 89 cm of snow annually with 84 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which means your roof cycles between ice and melt constantly. Aluminum won't rot or split from that stress like asphalt does. If you want to minimize ice dams, optional snow guards mount directly to the profile. The lightweight design—even the Mediterranean Tile is 96% lighter than real tile—means no structural upgrade needed despite the snow load.

How does aluminum hold up to freeze-thaw cycling?

Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it won't crack, curl, or degrade like asphalt shingles do over 84 annual freeze-thaw cycles. The material's oxide layer self-heals if scratched during installation or maintenance, so small damage doesn't turn into a leak pathway. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is rated 30 years against chalking and fading under that cycling stress. In Skyview Meadows' climate, you're looking at a roof that stays intact through decades of winter-to-spring transitions without the progressive failure you'd see with traditional materials.

Can a metal roof rust in Wisconsin?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—only the element aluminum bonded with roofing-grade 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209). When exposed to air, aluminum forms a microscopic oxide layer that actually protects the underlying metal and self-heals when scratched. Steel roofs rust; aluminum does not. With Wisconsin's 781 mm of annual rainfall and seasonal moisture swings, rust-free performance matters. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides of every panel adds 30 years of chalking and fading resistance, so your roof's finish stays intact long after asphalt is gone.

Will an Interlock metal roof blow off in a Wisconsin windstorm?

No. The four-way interlocking panels lock together in all directions, and the system is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph—well above the peak gusts of about 104 km/h recorded in Dane County. That interlock design means each panel reinforces the next one; there's no single point of failure. Even during spring and fall storms, the panels stay seated and sealed. Installation to specification (which your local Interlock installer knows) ensures fasteners engage properly in the lock seams. Real-world installations range from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations—your wind load is typical for the region.

Could hail damage void my roof warranty?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Hail is always possible in Wisconsin spring, and insurance carriers often recognize Class 4 impact resistance with lower premiums or deductibles on homeowner policies. If you're in an area with a history of hail events, ask your agent whether the UL 2218 Class 4 rating qualifies you for a discount. Metal's hardness simply doesn't dimple or dent from hail the way asphalt shingles do, and it won't degrade into leaks years later. Check with your insurer for specifics, but the rating itself is a strong selling point.

How much upkeep does an Interlock metal roof need in Wisconsin?

Virtually none. Unlike asphalt, which needs regular inspection and algae/moss treatment—especially in climates with high humidity and freeze-thaw cycles—Interlock aluminum requires no roofing-specific maintenance. The gutters still need cleaning (rain debris, tree matter), but the roof itself won't crack, curl, moss over, or lose granules. The CALGreen-verified design confirms reduced maintenance burden. In Skyview Meadows, where you see about 781 mm of rain and 89 cm of snow annually, asphalt shingles weaken and fail; aluminum simply sheds water and snow. The Guardian Warranty covers defects; you cover normal gutter care.

Is an Interlock metal roof worth the upfront cost over asphalt?

Over a 50-year horizon, yes. Asphalt costs less upfront (~$8–12 per sq ft installed) but lasts 15–20 years, meaning two to three replacements before you hit 50 years. Each tear-off costs time, labor, and landfill disposal. Interlock installs over your existing roof, cutting disposal costs, and lasts the rest of your life with no prorated material warranty under the Guardian—covering rust, rot, impact loss, and structural defects. The one-time transfer gives the next owner 50 years from installation. A single lifecycle with zero tear-offs, lower maintenance, and potential insurance savings recoupes the difference. For Skyview Meadows' 84 freeze-thaw cycles and 89 cm of annual snow, you're buying the last roof you'll install.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the actual failure modes that asphalt and traditional tile suffer in freeze-thaw climates. It's transferable once; the next owner gets 50 years from your completion date. Because aluminum cannot rust and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against fading, the roof itself outlasts the warranty's terms. Non-prorated means if something fails year 40, you're covered dollar-for-dollar, not a declining percentage. Few roofing products offer this confidence; it reflects Interlock's manufacturing since 1998 and real-world installations across diverse climates.

Is an Interlock metal roof fire-rated?

Yes. Interlock aluminum roofing achieves Class A fire classification (non-combustible) and is evaluated under ICC-ES ESR-1790, reissued 2025, which covers both the International Building Code and the International Residential Code. Non-combustible aluminum cannot sustain flame and won't add fuel to a fire. If your local insurance carrier offers discounts for Class A roofing, metal qualifies. In Skyview Meadows, where wildfire risk is lower than western states, the Class A rating is a bonus benefit rather than a necessity—but it's there and verified.

Can a metal roof actually save money on cooling in Wisconsin?

The Alunar coating is applied to both sides of every panel and delivers thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 in light colors like Aged Copper Penny. energy-efficient colors reflect infrared heat that dark asphalt absorbs, lowering your cooling load in summer. Skyview Meadows gets about 3089 sunshine hours per year—enough that summer cooling is a real cost. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the reflectance, so you're not relying on marketing claims. In a region with 89 cm of snow and significant winter, the dual benefit matters: summer cooling savings plus year-round durability under Dane County's 20 km/h average winds and higher gusts.
