01 / The name
You saw the commercial.
This is the roof.
Canada’s Best Roof™ is the name Interlock® uses in its Canadian advertising for the Interlock® Lifetime Roofing System: interlocking aluminum and copper roofing made by Interlock Roofing Ltd. in Delta, British Columbia.
If you came here from canadasbestroof.com or from our television commercial, you are in the right place — this is the manufacturer’s own website.
The name is a claim, so this page treats it like one: what we mean by it, the documents behind it, and the Canadian installations and reviews you can use to judge it for yourself.
02 / The record
A claim you can count.
- 20,520Interlock® roofs installed in Canada
- 8provinces with completed installations
- 5,120published reviews from Canadian homeowners
- 4.7 / 5average across those 5,120 reviews
Counts come from Interlock’s job records and published customer reviews as of this page’s last update — the same figures shown on Metal roofing in Canada and Canadian reviews.
03 / The evidence
It’s a tagline.
Not an award.
Nobody ranks roofs nationally, and we do not suggest anyone has. We use the name because of six things you can open and read for yourself.
Made in Canada
Interlock Roofing Ltd. was founded in Delta, British Columbia in 1998 and still designs and manufactures its roofing there.
Evaluated for Canadian codes
CCMC evaluation report 10475-R, issued through the National Research Council of Canada’s Canadian Construction Materials Centre, covers traffic load, wind uplift and dynamic-pressure water infiltration.
The top hail rating
UL 2218 Class 4 is the highest class in that impact standard. The page explains the test and holds the documentation.
Aluminum cannot rust
It contains no iron. The Alunar® Coating System adds a PVDF finish, and Interlock’s Alunar®-coated aluminum colours are listed in the Cool Roof Rating Council directory.
A warranty in writing
The Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty comes from the manufacturer, is non-prorated, and transfers once to the next owner.
A public record
The installation counts on this page come from our job records. The reviews are published in full, including the critical ones.
What the name does not mean: that an Interlock roof is the right answer for every house or every budget. The Best Roof guide compares ten roofing materials side by side, including where asphalt, steel or natural slate make more sense.

If the commercial is what brought you here, this is the roof it shows. Watch it again, then look at the installations and reviews below.
05 / The collection
One system.
Six looks.
Every Interlock® roof is a four-way interlocking system: each shingle or panel locks to its neighbours on all four sides. What changes is the profile — five in heavy-gauge aluminum, plus solid copper. See the full collection, or compare metal shingles and aluminum shingles as a category.
01SlateThe look of quarried slate at a fraction of the weight.
02Cedar ShingleThe texture of sawn cedar without the rot or the moss.
03ShakeHand-split shake character in non-combustible aluminum.
04Mediterranean TileBarrel-tile lines without clay’s weight or brittleness.
05Standing SeamClean vertical lines with concealed fasteners.
06Solid CopperReal copper that weathers to a natural patina.

In their words.
The roof looks great. Dylan and his crew were exceptional. They did an outstanding job, were very friendly and professional. We would highly recommend them to anyone.
We just got our new Interlock roof installed in Qualicum Beach. Antonio and his team were fabulous, we could not have asked for a better service. Hard working, on time, respectful and friendly, bravo! We can recommend this product and especially these installers! Kind regards, Annette
Our metal roof was installed just under 5 years ago; and had sprung a small leak. I emailed them to have them look into it, as it has a lifetime warranty. Within hours they called me and scheduled a service call for the next morning. Ken came by right on time, and quickly was on the roof looking at…
Interlock Metal Roofing has surpassed our expectations as it has transformed the look of our house that conventional shingles cannot match. The durability, protection from the extreme elements in Alberta and 50-year life expectancy of this product is a great comfort as our house is our biggest and…
Paul Paquet is a five-star guy! We have a 1925 house with a 1999 addition, and the attic has winter humidity ventilation challenges. Paul walked me through his diagnosis, and his resolution gives me confidence that winter woes are behind us. I'm very pleased.
How these were chosen: the most recent published review from each province, then the next most recent, limited to reviews rated four stars or higher that include a written comment. Nothing has been edited except for length. Every published review, including critical ones, is on Canadian metal roofing reviews; how reviews are collected is set out in the customer review policy.
08 / The weather
Built for
Canadian weather.
A roof in Canada has to handle several climates at once. Pick yours.
Snow, ice dams and freeze–thaw
Smooth interlocking aluminum sheds snow and does not crack or curl through freeze–thaw cycles — and installation continues through the winter.
Winterlock cold-weather roofingPrairie hail
Alberta and the Prairies get Canada’s most damaging hailstorms. Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4, the highest class in that impact standard.
Hail-resistant roofingWildfire
Aluminum is non-combustible, and a Class A fire-rated assembly is available — ask for that configuration.
Fire-resistant roofing, FireSmart™ and Canadian ratingsSalt air on both coasts
Steel roofing can rust as its coating ages. Aluminum contains no iron and cannot.

answers.
Is “Canada’s Best Roof” an award or an independent ranking?
No. It is the name Interlock uses in its Canadian advertising, built on Best Roof®, a trademark registered in Canada — it is not a prize. No independent body ranks residential roofs nationally. What sits behind the name is set out on this page and can be checked: where the roofing is made, the CCMC evaluation report, the UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating, the written manufacturer warranty, and the installation and review record in each province.
Is canadasbestroof.com the same company as interlockroofing.com?
Yes. canadasbestroof.com is the web address shown in Interlock’s television advertising. It belongs to Interlock and brings you to this page on interlockroofing.com, the manufacturer’s own website. Quote requests made here are routed to the Interlock installation centre for your region, or referred to an independent installer where there is no centre.
Where is the roofing made?
Interlock Roofing Ltd. was founded in Delta, British Columbia in 1998 and designs and manufactures its aluminum and copper roofing systems there, at 9969 River Way. The same systems are supplied to installation centres across Canada and the United States.
Who installs an Interlock roof in my province?
Interlock has regional installation centres serving British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Maritimes. Enquiries from places outside those regions are referred to independent installers, who are not necessarily Interlock-certified. The installers page explains which centre covers which area and how referrals work.
Is the system evaluated for Canadian building codes?
Yes. Interlock roofing is covered by CCMC evaluation report 10475-R, issued through the Canadian Construction Materials Centre at the National Research Council of Canada, with testing for traffic load, wind uplift and dynamic-pressure water infiltration. It also carries UL 2218 Class 4, the highest rating in that impact (hail) standard. Both documents are published on this site.
What does the warranty actually cover?
The Guardian Lifetime Limited Material Warranty is issued in writing by the manufacturer, Interlock Roofing Ltd. It is non-prorated, and it can be transferred once, to the next registered owner of the home, who is then covered for fifty years from the original completion date. “Lifetime” has a defined meaning in the warranty, and there are exclusions — read the warranty page before you decide.
How much does it cost in Canada?
An interlocking aluminum roof costs more up front than asphalt, and the price depends on roof size, pitch, complexity and profile. This page does not quote figures. The metal roofing cost guide explains what drives the price and when a cheaper roof is the better decision, and a free in-home or online quote gives you a firm number for your house.
