I'm satisfied with the product and the end result looks nice, however, I was expecting a more professional experience from both the installer and the installation management team. The workmanship, from what I can tell is solid, however, I do not wish to be involved in the office politics. At this point, I am unsure if the end result was worth the difficulty and cost, and based on that, do not know that I would recommend without a lot of caveats. I believe that at minimum, a job site visit from the installation manager or the sales representative on the first day of the project could have prevented the ice and water shield issue (see question 10) by going over the contract with the installer to what is required. I feel the installer was not properly informed of what was required. Aside from the obvious ice and water shield issue, we are satisfied with the end result. Having said that, at this price point, I would expect the installation to be run far smoother. I believe there needs to representation from the company periodically at the job site to ensure that everything meets contract obligations and installation standards, and that any internal company issues do not get put back to the client. I think that neighbors need to be respected as much as the client and any interaction should be first dealt with through the client.

Communication

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Communication between the installation management and the client needs improvement.”

Installation Crew

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“'Crew' was one man, who had serious issues with the installation manager, and apparently there was tension between the installer and one of my neighbors which I am still trying to smooth out with the neighbor. The installer did not have a copy of the contract, and ended up making a mistake on the installation of the ice and water shield. Communication between Wast Removal (the bin) and Installation management was somewhat unorganized (bin showing up a 7:30 am with no one from installation to accept it. Installation management thinking the bin was removed at the end of the project when it was not).”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★★★ Strongly agree
“From outward appearance I'm satisfied that the product was installed correctly, however, I'm not a professional roofer, and am not qualified to say if everything was installed as required. This is where periodic review by a qualified Interlock Roofing employee to the job site would greatly reduce any apprehension that the client may have. I understand that the installer takes pictures to submit to the office, but that does not give me a satisfactory level of comfort.”

Clean & Safe

★★★★ Agree
“Cleanliness was adequate.”

Professional Completion

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“While I am satisfied with the end result, it was a hard road to get here. See question 5”

Problem Resolution

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“I had been quoted and billed for 6 feet of ice and water shield, roofer installed 3 feet which only came to my attention after the roof was 75% completed. I was refunded for 200+ feet of left over water shield as compensation ($226.00 inc tax). Given that the Interlock sales person thought 6ft was required, I'm left with the uneasy feeling that I may have issues in the future. I could have insisted that the additional water shield be installed, however, realizing how impractical that request is and I let it go. Looking back, I don't feel the compensation is adequate for the risk.”

Schedule

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“They were a month late starting, and it took almost a month to complete. Installation time, understandably, could be attributed to a one man crew.”
