Review: February 13, 2019 Completion: January 13, 2019

While I am happy with the final result,I could never ,in good conscience, recommend anyone to use your company. Customer service,or lack thereof is a glaring weakness.Whenever we attempted to communicate with Jennifer,we were either ignored,or placated.Repeated requests to speak with her supervisor were ignored.Great amounts of our time and money were wasted doing online searches for permits, constructing ladder guards out of my own plywood, putting buckets in the attic to catch drips, cleaning up debris, etc. When we inquired as to what they would be doing for compensation, she told us to submit a receipt for the wood.We just spent $30,000 on a roof and that is how we are treated? I can only hope that the roof holds up and we have no warranty claims, because the thought of dealing with Jennifer Simons is not pleasant.I was also disgusted that the contract absolves Interlock from installation delays even when they are your fault.Nice to hide that in the fine print.

We feel as though the left over materials should have been left on site. We have no idea how much of the materials we paid for were left over. We would like for all left over materials from the main house roof project to be left on site.

Thank you for showing us samples of the roofing materials and colors that were available. The steel grey we choose looks fantastic on the house. I would recommend this type of roof to anyone looking for a new roof. Interlock Roofing is the best! The crew that installed the roof was very polite. They worked very hard to get the job done and they cleaned up the area at the end of the day. I'll never have to worry about putting another roof on this house again. I can honestly say Interlock roofing is the best investment anyone can make. Thank you

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Annisquam

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Annisquam, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Annisquam.

Will a metal roof handle Annisquam's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but its non-corrosive nature means those cycles won't degrade the material. Annisquam experiences about 71 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 89 cm of snow, creating conditions that crack and curl asphalt and wood shingles. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy is engineered to flex without fracturing, and the four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement without compromising seals. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) stays flexible across temperature extremes, resisting the chalking and brittleness that afflicts traditional materials in your climate.

How does an Interlock metal roof handle heavy snow and ice dams in Massachusetts winters?

The smooth aluminum surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt or wood, reducing ice-dam formation that damages gutters and interior walls. With about 89 cm of snow annually and gusts reaching 139 km/h, snow load isn't a structural concern—Interlock's Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb/sq ft, so snow accumulation won't strain your home's framing. The interlocking seams and solid deck installation (over existing roof or new) create a unified thermal mass that resists ice backup. Optional snow guards can be added if you prefer to manage slides on adjacent structures.

Can an Interlock roof reduce my insurance premiums or handle severe hail?

Interlock metal roofing achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Several insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofs because they file fewer hail claims; check with your agent for specifics. Annisquam's gusts average 23 km/h daily with occasional peaks to 139 km/h, plus the region's severe thunderstorm potential, make impact resistance genuinely valuable. The aluminum's inherent toughness (not a brittle coating that flakes away) means the roof maintains its Class 4 rating for decades, not just the first year.

Is a metal roof secure in Annisquam's coastal wind conditions?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—far exceeding Annisquam's typical gust extremes of 139 km/h. The four-way interlocking system locks panels on all edges, creating a unified diaphragm that distributes wind load across the roof rather than allowing individual panels to lift. This engineering proved its worth in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for current IBC/IRC codes). Combined with proper fastening into your existing deck or new substrate, the roof won't flutter, rattle, or fail in the strong marine winds characteristic of Essex County locations.

How does Interlock keep rain from leaking through in heavy downpours?

The four-way interlocking seams—top, bottom, and both sides of each panel—overlap like roof tiles, directing water down and outward; water never drains sideways into seams. Annisquam receives about 1089 mm of rain annually, and that volume demands leak-proof sealing. The panels install over a solid deck (your existing roof or new plywood), underlayment, and drip edge, creating a three-layer moisture barrier identical to asphalt roofing. Unlike asphalt, though, the aluminum panels never absorb water or swell, so the seal remains tight for decades. The Guardian warranty covers water entry due to material defect—homeowners typically report zero leaks when the roof is installed to spec.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No—the Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than actual concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support Interlock without any structural upgrades; the roof installs directly over your existing asphalt shingles or over new decking. This light weight saves on framing, labor, and unnecessary expense. In Annisquam, where homes range from seaside cottages to larger estates, the ability to reroof without reinforcement means you avoid contractor time, engineering reports, and structural modifications that traditional tile or slate would demand. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms installation compatibility over standard residential framing.

Will a metal roof reduce my heating and cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat (initial reflectance up to 0.55 for lighter finishes like Aged Copper Penny, with thermal emissivity of 0.84), reducing cooling load in summer. Annisquam's 3075 annual sunshine hours mean that reflectance directly lowers air-conditioning demand on warm months. In winter, the same reflective properties don't prevent heat loss—that's handled by attic insulation—but metal roofs don't absorb and re-radiate heat like asphalt, so you're not adding passive warming that offsets your heating gains. Cool Roof Rating Council-rated products quantify these benefits; homeowners typically see modest cooling savings, and the reflectivity helps moderate roof surface temperatures year-round, extending coating life.

What is the warranty on an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. The warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion—a significant resale advantage. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (measured by ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards). No other residential roofing material—asphalt, wood, concrete tile—carries a non-prorated lifetime warranty. In Annisquam, where roofs endure 71 annual freeze-thaw cycles, corrosive salt air, and frequent heavy rain (1089 mm yearly), this durability translates to your last roof purchase.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof need?

Minimal—aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or require sealant reapplication like asphalt or wood. Annual gutter cleaning and a visual inspection every few years are sufficient; you don't pressure-wash, caulk seams, or replace deteriorated shingles. Annisquam's high rainfall (1089 mm yearly) means gutters fill faster, but the roof itself stays intact. The CALGreen-verified design certifies reduced maintenance compared to conventional materials. Ice and snow melt off smoothly without the freeze-thaw damage that requires asphalt roof repairs every 5–7 years. Over 25 years, an Interlock roof typically costs less to maintain than two or three asphalt replacements, freeing your budget for other home needs.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Annisquam?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served the region since 1999, with deep familiarity with coastal Massachusetts conditions—salt air, heavy snow, freeze-thaw cycling, and the ICC-ES codes now in force. They understand your local building permits, inspector expectations, and the specific installation details required in Essex County's maritime climate. The current promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Calling the local team ensures your roof is installed to the specification required for the full 120 mph wind warranty and proper water drainage in Annisquam's high-rainfall environment.
