Just a note to let you know about the pleasant experience we had when your contractor came and installed our new Interlock roof on September 6 and 7. The young men who installed the roof seemed very experienced and had the roof installed in a reasonable amount of time. They acted professionally and courteously. They cleaned up all nails and other debris that fell when they were roofing. It was a good experience for us as homeowners. As an aside, and not as a criticism, I just want to suggest that the contractor may want to contact the homeowner a few days ahead of the day they would like to install the roof. Mr. Plesnik called us on September 5th at 4:30 pm to say he would be there the next morning to start the work, It worked out fine for us, but I’m sure it may be a problem for others, We love the look of our roof and get lots of compliments. We can hardly wait until the snow flies to see the difference that this new roof will make.

Review: February 4, 2025 Completion: November 14, 2010

Our home had an Interlock metal roof already installed when we purchased it. After 15 years we noticed that the vent pipe boots appeared to be damaged. I received multiple quotes and Interlock had the best quote by 3X and came out the next day for service. The technician was very professional and took care of everything, even in the middle of winter! The job was completed quickly, and the entire site was left clean.

Review: May 9, 2006 Completion: July 16, 2003

We are writing to let you know how much we like our new roof. It was an adventure, to say the least. It all started on the 5th of July. They came to start to take off the old roof. Then as they started, a big swarm of BEES came out of our roof. The guys came down like firemen coming down the pole. We had to get a bee guy to take care of that problem. He said that there were about 400,000 bees in our roof. First great advantage is no more bees with this roof. After this side track, they got back to work, and because of the bee incident, they worked Saturday and Sunday. The work went along without problems the rest of the way. David and his crew did a great job. They were very polite and efficient with all aspects of what they had to deal with. From the bee problem to three layers of old shingles to remove and that had to be the hottest week of the summer. “Thanks a lot, guys.” We have had the roof on for a good three weeks, and the traffic in from of our house crawls by, in cars and on foot. If I am outside, they always ask if it is " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate or tile. They are very surprised when I say it is lightweight aluminum. We are very glad we went the root of the Interlock Roofing System. We have a white house with hunter-green shutters so we went with the hunter-green roof. It is very beautiful, and I know it will be the last roof I will have to put on this house. We may not have the biggest or best house in our neighborhood, but our roof is the best looking and longest lasting for miles around.

Review: April 7, 2006 Completion: March 19, 2006

We have not had one minute of rest since the installation of our Interlock Roof System was finished. Our home is on a busy main road. Friends and people have not stopped complimenting and questioning us about it. The roof is beautiful and eye-popping. On a more practical level, we felt we needed more than what a regular asphalt roof could offer. The back of our house does not get much sun in the winter. This can and does cause snow and ice accumulation problems when the conditions are right. The results are " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams and leaking. The rest of the year, it causes moss and lichen to grow. These issues, combined with the fact that it was time for a new roof, led us to the Interlock system. While it is springtime, we feel confident that our Interlock roof will perform as expected. It is a premium roof that offers much more than good looks.

Review: March 9, 2017 Completion: November 14, 2016

The experience with the entire Interlock team was a pleasure. First having Mike come out to give an estimate and his patience with making a decision, to scheduling and other matters with Jennifer in the office and finally, Igor and his crew. Igor and his crew worked really hard; their workmanship was more like craftsmanship. They were very respectful and treated our home and property like it was their own. When they completed the job, you did not know they were even there, except for the beautiful new roof. The new roof started earning its keep the day after it was finished due to a bad rainstorm. Throughout this winter, we were amazed that once the snow had fallen off the roof, we were the only home in the neighborhood to have no snow or ice. Our advice to any homeowner is to take the leap and get an Interlock roof, you will not regret it.

Review: December 15, 2016 Completion: October 30, 2015

Roof installed in late October of 2015. Start to finish a good experience. We knew going it what to expect for costing and everyone looking at a metal roof should expect high costs, but still gave it a small ding on overall costs :). The lead time to do the work was long but that expectation was clearly set during the contract negotiations and they were within 2 weeks of that date. Jennifer was a big help keeping me informed of scheduling and always responded within a day of any message left, if I didn't get her live on the phone. The crew was really good (Sergi, Dimitry and the guys) and worked 9-5 without missing a beat after a long daily commute to get to our house.. Considering all the nails, shingles and small metal pieces associated with this installation my yard was spotless. Even after they completed my walk around yielded about a dozen small pieces buried under leaves and to be expected.. Very pleased with that.. So far we're very happy with the experience. The roof looks amazing and we cannot wait for the snow to arrive. Description of work: removed 2 layers of shingles, replaced some damaged plywood after removal, complete roof coverage with ice & water barrier along with a 2nd protective layer then the metal roofing. We had a good sized roof, about 2800 sq. feet with alot of angles and dormers.

This letter is written to inform you of my recent installation experience with your company. As a former Regional Sales Manager for 22 years in the Northeast US, I believe I can speak from experience when it pertains to customer service, customer relations and more importantly, customer satisfaction. That being said, I offer the following comments for your review: Interlock Industries employee, Vitale Sukhovtsev, was my main contact and installer throughout the entire roofing process. Although Mr. Sukhovtsev is deaf, we established an immediate rapport. Communication between us was never an issue. I found Mr. Sukhovtsev’s work ethic, professionalism and craftsmanship to be exemplary. He was prompt, courteous and meticulous in his craft. It was impressive to see someone who took such pride in his vocation. He is a great ambassador for your company and he has made my experience with Interlock Industries a very positive one. In closing, based upon the installation process, I look forward to a high performing and maintenance free roof. Should you have any questions regarding the aforementioned, please feel free to contact me directly at home (978) xxx-xxxx.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in South Lawrence

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in South Lawrence, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in South Lawrence.

How does a metal roof handle South Lawrence winters with about 84 cm of snow per year?

Metal roofing sheds snow and ice far more efficiently than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and steep panel edges prevent buildup and reduce ice dam formation. South Lawrence averages roughly 76 freeze-thaw days yearly, which means your roof constantly expands and contracts; aluminum's inherent flexibility absorbs that movement without cracking or splitting, unlike brittle asphalt or wood shakes. The four-way interlocking panels are tested to resist wind gusts up to 130 km/h, so seasonal snow slides won't compromise the seal. You can add snow guards if you prefer to manage runoff, but the material itself won't degrade from winter cycling.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling in Massachusetts damage asphalt but not aluminum?

Asphalt absorbs water and loses flexibility as it hardens with age; repeated freezing and thawing causes it to crack and curl. Aluminum's oxide layer is non-porous and self-healing—it doesn't absorb moisture, so ice expansion can't damage it from within. With 76 freeze-thaw days annually in South Lawrence and roughly 1065 mm of rain, your roof endures constant moisture stress; aluminum simply won't crack, rot, or split under those conditions. The Alunar coating on both sides of every panel (ESR-1790 rated) adds a second barrier against weather infiltration, keeping the substrate pristine for decades.

Can a metal roof stand up to the wind gusts South Lawrence gets?

Yes—the warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above the typical gusts of about 130 km/h reported in your area. The four-way interlocking panels lock together so tightly that wind pressure is distributed across the entire system rather than concentrating on fastener points. Installation to spec is the key: when done right, the roof acts as a single unified membrane. Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has been installing these systems in the region since 1999, so they know exactly how to secure a roof for New England's worst seasonal wind and nor'easters.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure to install a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed because Interlock metal roofing is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing roofing without modification. Even the heaviest profile, Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft, is a fraction of what traditional materials demand. Since you're in South Lawrence with about 84 cm of snow annually, that weight advantage means your home's framing absorbs far less snow load stress, and you avoid tens of thousands in structural work. Most homes qualify for direct overlay installation, cutting labor time and cost.

With roughly 1065 mm of rain yearly in South Lawrence, will a metal roof leak?

No—the four-way interlocking panels create a continuous mechanical seal that sheds water as fast as gravity pulls it down. Each panel overlaps its neighbor on all four sides, and the design guarantees water flows down the face and off the eave before it can back up into seams. South Lawrence's annual rainfall is well managed by any properly installed metal roof; the real risk with asphalt is that rain exploits small cracks and punctures that accumulate over time. Metal won't degrade that way. Installed over solid decking with felt underlayment (standard practice), your roof is actually quieter than you might expect and completely watertight for the lifetime of the home.

Does a metal roof help reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color with high solar reflectance. Interlock offers colors rated up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, which means the roof reflects rather than absorbs the heat that asphalt soaks up. South Lawrence gets about 3109 sunshine hours annually, so every sunny day your reflective metal roof bounces heat away instead of heating your attic. The Cool Roof Rating Council verified these ratings, and the energy savings are real enough that some utilities and municipalities offer rebates. It's particularly useful if you have air conditioning or if your attic feeds heat downward into living spaces.

What's the metal roof rating for hail in South Lawrence?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That's the top tier for impact resistance. While South Lawrence's climate data doesn't flag severe hail as a primary concern, the Class 4 rating means you're fully protected if a storm does occur. Because aluminum panels don't dent like steel and recover their shape, and because the material won't crack or lose impact resistance over time, your roof performs the same in year 30 as it does in year 1. Some insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts; check with your carrier.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Virtually none. Asphalt requires regular inspections, shingle replacement, and gutter cleaning; wood shakes must be treated for rot and moss every few years; tile demands mortar repair. Interlock aluminum simply doesn't degrade that way. It won't rot, split, curl, or lose structural integrity, and it's CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. With about 84 cm of snow and 1065 mm of rain annually, your roof endures constant moisture stress, but the material itself requires no coatings, no sealing, no replacement of sections. You clean gutters (as with any roof) and inspect fasteners every decade if you're thorough—that's it. It's the last roof you'll buy.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost in South Lawrence?

Yes, calculated over the roof's life. Asphalt typically needs replacement every 15–25 years; by year 30 or 40, you've replaced it once or twice and paid thousands more in labor and disposal. Metal carries a lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty for the original owner and a 50-year transferable term for the next owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact loss. With South Lawrence's harsh freeze-thaw cycling (76 days/year) and heavy moisture, asphalt fails faster than in milder climates. The Guardian Warranty eliminates that repeat cost cycle. Right now, Interlock Metal Roofing is offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—a strong time to buy.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in South Lawrence?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has been serving the region since 1999 and knows South Lawrence's weather, building codes, and installation challenges intimately. They're familiar with the freeze-thaw stress, heavy snow loads, and salt-air moisture that shape roofing decisions here. They understand the Essex County code environment and can navigate whether your home qualifies for direct overlay or needs prep work. Installation expertise matters: proper attachment, sealing, and deck preparation determine whether your roof performs as warranted. With 25+ years of regional history, they've also built relationships with local inspectors and suppliers, which speeds permitting and guarantees material availability.
