Review: August 20, 2024 Completion: August 13, 2024

From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!

Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!

To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />

Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!

Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!

Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.

Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.

Review: April 27, 2016 Completion: June 20, 2015

Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.

Review: January 28, 2016 Completion: December 28, 2015

My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.

Review: May 21, 2012 Completion: June 30, 2007

Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Springvale

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Springvale, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Springvale.

How does metal roofing handle heavy snow in Minnesota winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and ice safely without holding dangerous loads. With Springvale averaging about 94 cm of snow annually and roughly 84 freeze-thaw cycles per year, the smooth metallic surface prevents ice dams that trap water on asphalt. The lightweight construction—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means no structural reinforcement is needed, and panels remain secure under snow weight while allowing water to drain quickly when thaw cycles begin. Optional snow guards are available if you prefer controlled snow retention.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Springvale degrade my metal roof?

No. Aluminum's crystal structure and oxide layer are inherently stable through repeated freeze-thaw stress. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle in Minnesota's 84 annual freeze-thaw cycles, or wood and clay tiles, which absorb moisture and crack, roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without material degradation. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating—warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—bonds to both panel sides, sealing out moisture that would otherwise penetrate. This redundancy is especially valuable in your climate, where freeze-thaw stress is relentless.

Can a metal roof withstand Minnesota's spring and winter storms?

Yes, without question. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec—well above Springvale's typical wind-gust records of approximately 98 km/h (61 mph). The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners or single attachment points. In a climate where gusts regularly test your roof's integrity, this engineered redundancy prevents panel lift-off and water infiltration. The warranty extends to your fastener system when installation follows Interlock's specifications.

Does metal roofing reduce hail damage and insurance costs in Minnesota?

Metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating—the highest impact classification available—and the Guardian warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 aluminum typically qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because claims data show dramatically lower damage rates than asphalt, wood, or tile. While Springvale's annual hail frequency is not extreme, severe spring and summer hail events do occur across Minnesota. Many insurers recognize the durability advantage and offer premium reductions on metal roofs; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification to discuss your rates.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but replaces the economics of roof maintenance over your home's lifetime. An asphalt roof typically needs replacement every 15–20 years; metal, installed properly, lasts 40+ years under the Guardian lifetime limited warranty. Over 60 years, a homeowner replaces asphalt three times while maintaining one metal roof. Factoring labor, disposal, and the certainty that metal won't fail in Springvale's 94 cm annual snow, 764 mm rain, and 84 freeze-thaw cycles, the cost per year of protection becomes dramatically lower. This is your last roof.

What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long does it really last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. If you sell, it transfers once to the next owner for a 50-year term from completion, adding real value to your sale. Additionally, the Alunar 70% PVDF coating carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, measured to ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards. Combined with aluminum's inherent corrosion resistance and Springvale's moderate sunshine exposure of about 3,127 hours annually, your panels will retain color and function for decades.

Can metal roofing keep my home cooler and reduce air-conditioning costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat that asphalt absorbs and radiates into your home. Reflective profiles achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reducing cooling demand on warm days. While Springvale's mean temperature of 7.6°C and about 3,127 annual sunshine hours mean your heating costs dwarf cooling costs, the reflective benefit still lowers peak summer loads and reduces attic temperatures that degrade insulation. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable performance. Over a 40-year roof life, cumulative energy savings become tangible—and the material's longevity ensures you realize the full benefit.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really require?

Virtually none—a key advantage over asphalt, wood, and tile in Springvale's harsh cycle of 94 cm snow, 764 mm rain, and 84 freeze-thaw events annually. Aluminum doesn't rot, crack, curl, or require repainting. Unlike asphalt shingles that degrade from UV and temperature swings, or wood shakes that split and invite rot, your Interlock roof sheds water, snow, and ice automatically. The four-way locking system prevents fastener corrosion. Most homeowners simply rinse gutters after leaf season; your roof itself needs nothing. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance against comparable materials, translating to decades of worry-free protection.

What architectural styles does Interlock metal roofing replicate, and which suits Springvale homes?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each replicates its namesake material in texture and shadow-line depth, so your home's architectural character—whether classic Minnesota farmhouse, modern farmstead, or contemporary—remains intact. Slate and Cedar Shingle suit traditional regional aesthetics; Shake adds dimension and period charm; Mediterranean Tile projects elegance on modern builds; Standing Seam delivers clean, contemporary lines. All profiles are manufactured from the same roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum with 30-year Alunar 70% PVDF coating, so your style choice doesn't compromise durability in Springvale's demanding climate.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing near Springvale, Minnesota?

Interlock Metal Roofing, the manufacturer's authorized installer serving this region since 2001, handles design, fabrication, and installation across Isanti County and surrounding areas.
