| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |

| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Willernie
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Willernie, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Willernie.
How does metal roofing handle Willernie's heavy snow loads and ice dams?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow efficiently because the smooth metal surface and tight seams prevent ice dams—water drains rather than pools. With about 94 cm of snow annually and 81 freeze-thaw cycles per year, your roof endures constant expansion and contraction. Aluminum's non-corrosive 3105-H24 alloy won't degrade from salt-laden snowmelt, and the panels remain structurally sound through thousands of thaw cycles that crack asphalt or split wood. Snow guards are available if you need them.
Will freeze-thaw cycling damage an aluminum metal roof in Minnesota winters?
No. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it doesn't crack, rot, or split like asphalt, wood shake, or concrete tile. Willernie averages 81 freeze-thaw days yearly plus 843 mm of rain, creating relentless wet-cold cycles. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating—warranted 30 years against damage—flexes with the metal and resists the salt spray in snowmelt. Your roof's integrity improves with age because aluminum's protective oxide layer self-heals when scratched, unlike materials that weaken over decades.
Can aluminum metal roofing rust in Minnesota's wet winters and salty snow?
Aluminum roofing cannot rust because it contains no iron. When exposed to moisture and salt in Willernie's winter runoff, aluminum forms a thin, transparent oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath—and self-heals if scratched. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish, applied to both sides of every panel, adds a second defense against corrosion. Steel roofing, by contrast, rusts from the inside out once the coating breaks. For a climate with 843 mm of annual rain and salt-laden snow, aluminum is the corrosion-proof choice.
Is metal roofing secure enough for Willernie's wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Willernie's typical gusts reach about 95 km/h (59 mph)—well below that threshold. The interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This makes metal roofing more wind-resistant than asphalt or wood shake, which can uplift or separate in high winds. The warranty covers performance even in severe weather.
Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at about 0.59 lb per sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Compare that to asphalt shingles, and you're adding minimal weight while gaining a roof that lasts a lifetime. The light weight means Interlock installs directly over most existing roofs, avoiding a costly tear-off. Your framing and foundation stay unaffected, making it an accessible upgrade for almost any home in Willernie.
How does metal roofing perform in hail, and will my insurance recognize it?
Interlock carries the highest impact rating available: UL 2218 Class 4, which certifies resistance to 1.5-inch hailstones. The warranty even covers perforation from hail at that size—a rare guarantee. Many insurers recognize this rating and offer premium discounts for metal roofs, potentially offsetting the initial cost over your coverage term. Willernie experiences variable spring and summer weather, and a Class 4-rated roof protects you from both hail damage and the deductibles that follow. Request a quote from your insurer mentioning the UL 2218 Class 4 rating.
Can a metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?
Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating, combined with thermal emissivity up to 0.84, means less heat transfers into your attic and living space. In Willernie, you have about 3110 sunshine hours yearly; a reflective roof measurably lowers air-conditioning demand during warm months. While Minnesota winters are your primary concern, summer cooling efficiency adds a year-round energy benefit. This reflective property also reduces thermal stress on the roof itself, extending its lifespan.
What maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal roofs require far less maintenance. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade and require replacement every 15–20 years, Interlock carries a lifetime limited warranty covering material defects—no maintenance-related worries for the original owner. Wood shake splits and requires periodic treatment to resist rot and insects. Interlock's aluminum and Alunar coating resist the elements passively; you simply keep gutters clear and inspect after severe weather. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden, giving you decades of hands-off protection in Willernie's damp climate.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?
Significantly. Interlock aluminum is about 95% recyclable at end of life, meaning your roof can be melted down and reused indefinitely. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, end in landfills—torn off every 15–20 years and never recovered. Over Willernie's 843 mm of annual rainfall, asphalt roofs shed granules and oils into storm drains and soil. Aluminum produces no runoff toxins and requires no tear-off replacement, eliminating the landfill cycle entirely. Choosing metal means one roof purchase instead of three or four asphalt replacements during your home's life.
Is a metal roof worth the higher upfront cost?
Yes, when you calculate the true cost over your roof's lifespan. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years; you'll buy three or four roofs in the time Interlock lasts a lifetime. The Guardian warranty—non-prorated for the original owner and transferable 50 years from completion—protects your investment and adds value if you sell. Labor, materials, and disposal for three asphalt replacements exceed a single metal installation. In Willernie's wet climate with 843 mm rain and 81 freeze-thaw days annually, asphalt degrades faster than in drier regions. Metal roofing is the last roof you'll buy.
