If I ever seek to put on another roof, I will give them a call, but it can't be in this neighborhood.

Review: November 16, 2018 Completion: November 6, 2018

Communication from the administrative staff Roof looks great. However the scheduling, communication and the ordering of the wrong color really made this more difficult and confusing than the job needed to be (Rolland and Lavenna). YES, homeowners typically need play by play communications since their lives are impacted by this rather large type of job - and that means responding in a timely fashion and being aware. Not professional to ask for full payment before the job begins, either (Lavenna). Perhaps more employee training? We hope this helps. Thank you.

Review: July 4, 2018 Completion: May 1, 2018

The skylight above my front door still fogs up in the morning. Very different than the other one. The installer guy (I forgot his name - he was nice) said it will go away when I put the sheetrock in. If it doesn't, I hope to have you guys still sort out that issue.

We had a pushed back start date. That was about it.

Review: August 11, 2016 Completion: July 9, 2016

They could improve on the sales technique and quoting of your prices. There were two guys who made the sale and one of them quoted a $1600 price for each skylight, in the end it was $585. The second guy said he never quoted that price and I could never get a hold of the one who did. It is not a big deal. The whole sales technique you use is high pressure. I did go with it because I wanted a long lasting roof. I think you need to make the sales a little softer somehow. That almost made me go with someone else. It is a good roof and they did a good job. The guys on site did really good.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Oswego

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Oswego.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice buildup in Oregon winters?

Yes—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and ice efficiently, and their extraordinary light weight means you're not adding structural burden during Lake Oswego's typical 48 cm annual snowfall and 36 freeze-thaw cycles. Unlike heavier materials, Interlock panels won't sag under repeated freeze-thaw stress, and the smooth interlocked seams resist ice damming. If you want extra protection, snow guards can be installed to manage avalanche-style release.

With 1468 mm of rain yearly in the area, how does Interlock prevent leaks?

The four-way interlocking seams overlap in all directions, channeling water down and away rather than letting it pool or seep sideways. Combined with modern underlayment and proper flashing, this design handles Lake Oswego's substantial annual rainfall without compromise. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms the system meets IBC/IRC code for water management, and the Guardian Warranty covers any perforation or leak from impact—giving you complete peace of mind in our wet climate.

Why choose aluminum roofing instead of steel in Oregon's wet climate?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Instead, it develops a microscopic oxide layer that actually heals itself when scratched, making it ideal for Lake Oswego's 1468 mm annual rainfall and occasional salt-laden winds. Steel, by contrast, requires constant maintenance to prevent rust. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24/3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) finished with a two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against corrosion, so you avoid the rust-repair treadmill entirely.

What warranty covers Interlock metal roofing, and how long does it truly last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, impact loss, rot, splitting, cracking, and curling. It's even transferable: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. Because aluminum won't rust and the 30-year PVDF coating resists fading and chalking (ASTM D4214/D2244 tested), and the panels have been manufactured since 1998, you're looking at a roof that genuinely outlasts most mortgages. This is the last roof you'll buy.

How does Interlock handle hail, and will my insurance company care?

Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty explicitly covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Lake Oswego isn't a major hail zone, severe wind gusts (up to 116 km/h recorded locally) can drive debris, and Class 4 rating protects you there too. Many insurers offer discounts for impact-resistant roofing; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating and ESR-1790 code evaluation, and you may see premium reductions that offset installation costs.

Are metal roofs safe in Oregon's wind storms and coastal gusts?

The four-way interlocking panel design, combined with proper installation to spec, provides a continuous mechanical bond that resists wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well above Lake Oswego's highest recorded gusts near 116 km/h. The Guardian Warranty covers this explicitly, and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms code compliance for your region. Storms that might tear or lift asphalt shingles leave interlocked aluminum panels unmoved, so you avoid emergency repairs and insurance claims.

Will I need to reinforce my roof framing to support metal roofing?

No. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only ~0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural upgrades are needed, and the roof often installs directly over your existing asphalt shingles, saving thousands in removal and reinforcement. Your home's existing framing easily handles the load, and you avoid the weeks of structural work that heavy tile or slate would require.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood shake?

Interlock requires minimal upkeep: occasional gutter cleaning and a rinse-off every few years keeps it looking new. Asphalt shingles need regular inspection for curling, balding, and granule loss; wood shake demands staining or treatment every 3-5 years to prevent rot and mold in Oregon's 1468 mm wet climate; clay tile can crack and requires mortar resealing. The Guardian Warranty and CALGreen verification document Interlock's reduced maintenance burden, and the self-healing aluminum oxide layer means minor scratches won't trigger corrosion or costly repairs.

Is metal roofing actually more eco-friendly than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, and at end-of-life, it returns to the mill rather than a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, create massive waste streams—tens of thousands of tons yearly in the U.S. alone. Because Interlock roofs last 50+ years (vs. asphalt's 20-25), you're not re-roofing every generation, eliminating the tear-off-and-dump cycle entirely. The lighter weight also means simpler installation trucks and lower fuel consumption, and the energy-efficiency rating cuts cooling emissions over the roof's life—a genuine environmental win.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Lake Oswego, and how long does the job take?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and understands Lake Oswego's wet winters, wind patterns, and building codes firsthand. Installation timelines depend on roof size and complexity, but the lightweight panels and interlocking design speed the process compared to slate or tile. Because the system often installs over your existing roof, there's no weeks-long tear-off, and you're back to normal faster. Current regional promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—ask the local team about your timeline and financing during a free consultation.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Lake Oswego’s climate?

Yes. Lake Oswego averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
