Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Rose Lodge, Oregon
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
After considering several different types of roofs and several different roofing companies for our house on the Oregon coast, we settled on Interlock Metal Roofing. We were not disappointed. Although it took about 8 months for the installation to happen due to weather, crew availability, and supply chain issues, it was worth the wait. The roof is beautiful and will last for many, many years. In addition, having the company that makes the roofing materials do the installation means that you have expert people installing the roof backed by expert people who know the product. We went with the Interlock Slate roof in black. It's stunning! Along with durability, the roof dresses up an otherwise plain house. An Interlock Metal Roof is not inexpensive. The cost can be a bit of a shock at first. But it's well worth the money. Positive, Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Scheduling the installation was a real bear; it kept getting delayed. Ultimately, it took 9 months from when we put our deposit down to when the roof was installed. That said, the installers were top-notch. They were quick, clean, polite, and answered all our questions. We absolutely love the roof and the two solar tubes they installed. Our neighbors all rave about how nice the house looks. They can't believe it is a metal roof. (We had the metal "cedar shake" style installed in charcoal gray.) I would definitely recommend them, but be patient with scheduling.PositiveQuality, ProfessionalismServicesAttic venting repairs, Roof installation, Skylight installation
Interlock installed a roof at our Tigard home in 2004 and it still looks brand new. When it was time to replace our Lincoln City house's roof at the beach, we did not hesitate to call them again. They work so hard to please and both roofs are beautiful.
We cannot begin to tell you how thoroughly satisfied we are, with not only our beautiful new slate roof, but every employee we had interaction with from start to finish.Mike and Damon were our first introduction to this company. They were polite, professional, informative and thorough in their presentation.Next we had several (over the phone) encounters with May. She worked diligently and professionally in getting our job scheduled between the time frame we needed. Now come the installers, Peter and Victor. These brothers are hard working, VERY knowledgeable, professional men with the highest of integrity. They started the job late (after coming from another job some distance away) the first evening, worked until dark. They returned the next morning, early, and put in 12 hours of work. (Again until just before dark)Came back and did an amazing job cleaning up everything! This is a quality product and a quality installation from a quality company we would recommend at any time.Thank you Interlock Industries, Inc. You have given these satisfied customers piece of mind in knowing we have a beautiful, lifetime roof.PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, ValueServicesRoof installation
I live in a forest near the Oregon Coast. The original reason I wanted to purchase a metal roof was basically for fire prevention. Composition shingles are the worst type of roof you can have when living in a forested area; metal roofs are the best. On September 11, 1992 I was on the island of Kauai, Hawaii when Hurricane Iniki, a Category-5 hurricane, took a direct hit. For our emergency shelter, we took refuge at the newly built Kauai Community College. We were told it had been built to hurricane standards and was safe. The college had a metal roof made of long slates stretching from the top to bottom. As the hurricane grew in strength, I watched the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate at one side of the building starting to flap…then flap more and more until it went flying into the air. Then, I watched the slate next to it do the same. This went on and on. When the eye of the hurricane went over us and everything slowed down, the people in that building rushed over to our building. For some reason our building’s roof held. Living on the Oregon Coast we get high winds every year. When I was informed about how the Interlock roof is tied together, I was sold on purchasing that style. Now, my roof can withstand up to a 180 per hour wind gust. I also like it’s look. After it was installed I sent a photo to a friend and her reaction was: “I thought you were going to buy a metal roof.” The roof even has a slate look to it. I used to own a business where we sent installation crews all across the country to install our multiple-run kennels. I know the importance of having a crew that knows what they are doing and are good representatives of our business. I give the Interlock installation crew an A+. They not only know what they are doing, but they are HARD WORKERS as well. On my job they went way beyond just roofing my house. They tore out the dilapidated structure around my chimney and built me a completely new one. They also added new flashing at the bottom of my roof windows, so I no longer have a problem with runoff ruining my wooden frame. I now have a new roof that will last much longer than me. It has added value to my home and peace of mind to me. When considering a new roof, I highly recommend Interlock.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rose Lodge
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rose Lodge, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rose Lodge.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Rose Lodge?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warrantied to 120 mph wind and shed snow reliably because the smooth aluminum surface prevents ice dam formation that traps water on asphalt. Rose Lodge averages about 32 cm of snow annually with about 8 freeze-thaw cycles per year — exactly the conditions where ice dams cause leaks and damage. The lightweight aluminum (Shake profile at ~0.58 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement needed, and snow guards can be added if you want additional retention for aesthetic effect.
Will a metal roof leak in Rose Lodge's rainy climate?
No, when installed to spec. Rose Lodge receives about 1,898 mm of rain annually, and the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are designed to shed water without pooling. The standing seam and interlocking profiles overlap continuously, eliminating the gaps where asphalt shingles separate and allow seepage. Proper underlayment and flashing — installed by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. — create a dual barrier. Metal roofing has inherently superior water management because panels expand and contract as a unit, not as individual shingles.
Can aluminum metal roofing rust in a coastal Oregon climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — rusting requires iron to oxidize. Instead, aluminum develops a self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal even when scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides adds a second barrier, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. In Rose Lodge's maritime climate with 139 km/h wind gusts, this dual protection means your roof won't corrode like steel roofing or deteriorate like asphalt. The two-sided coating is especially important in salt-air environments, and this protection never diminishes.
What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and can it help with insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Rose Lodge's climate data doesn't indicate frequent severe hail, this rating demonstrates structural integrity that some insurers recognize with premium discounts. The non-combustible aluminum (Class A fire available) and impact resistance can factor into your policy. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification; some carriers offer tangible savings on homes with proven impact-rated roofing.
Is metal roofing worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Yes, over the roof's lifecycle. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and require frequent replacement; Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner with a one-time 50-year transfer to the next owner. You avoid the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle repeatedly. With Rose Lodge's 1,898 mm annual rainfall and 32 cm snow, asphalt degrades faster than in dry climates. Interlock's 30-year coating warranty and zero-rust aluminum mean predictable costs after installation. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation — turning a long-term investment into immediate savings.
Can metal roofing survive Rose Lodge's wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and the system is engineered to handle the uplift forces that separate shingles. Rose Lodge's typical wind gusts reach 139 km/h (about 86 mph), well within the warranty threshold. The interlocking design means panels act as a unified structure rather than individual shingles catching the wind. When installed to spec by Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., fastening patterns and panel overlap distribute wind load across the entire roof assembly, preventing the peeling and tearing that compromises asphalt.
What maintenance does a metal roof actually need?
Very little. Unlike asphalt, which requires inspection for missing shingles and granule loss, or wood shake, which needs staining and splits repair, Interlock aluminum panels are CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. You'll rinse debris occasionally and check gutters — standard for any roof. The self-healing oxide layer and 30-year Alunar coating mean no periodic refinishing. Rose Lodge's about 3,097 annual sunshine hours keep the finish bright, and the coating resists the chalking and fading that ages asphalt. Over a 50-year lifespan, maintenance savings alone offset much of the installation difference.
Can I install metal roofing over my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?
Yes. Interlock's aluminum profiles are exceptionally light — the Mediterranean Tile at ~0.59 lb/sq ft is about 96% lighter than clay or concrete tile — so structural reinforcement is rarely needed. Your home's frame supports asphalt shingles without issue; Interlock installs over most existing roofs without modification. This is a genuine advantage in older Rose Lodge homes where adding weight would require costly framing work. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) confirms the system's structural compatibility. Installation over existing roof also means no disposal cost and faster project completion.
What roofing styles does Interlock offer for Rose Lodge homes?
Five authentic profiles: Slate (crisp geometric facets), Cedar Shingle (straight-edge linear grain), Shake (irregular hand-split texture), Standing Seam (clean architectural lines), and Mediterranean Tile (curved barrel profile). Each uses four-way interlocking aluminum panels with the Alunar 70% PVDF finish applied to both sides. The profiles replicate traditional materials — stone, wood, clay — without their maintenance burden or weight. Available in multiple colors, they integrate with Rose Lodge's architectural range from historic cottages to contemporary homes. Manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998, these profiles have proven durability from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Rose Lodge, Oregon?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and installs the complete Interlock system locally. They handle design selection, structural assessment, installation to spec, and warranty administration. Local service means faster response for any questions, proper flashing in Rose Lodge's wet climate, and familiarity with the region's building codes and weather patterns. They also manage current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Working with an established regional installer ensures your metal roof is installed correctly the first time, protecting your Guardian Warranty coverage.
