What our customers are saying:
I live in a forest near the Oregon Coast. The original reason I wanted to purchase a metal roof was basically for fire prevention. Composition shingles are the worst type of roof you can have when living in a forested area; metal roofs are the best. On September 11, 1992 I was on the island of Kauai, Hawaii when Hurricane Iniki, a Category-5 hurricane, took a direct hit. For our emergency shelter, we took refuge at the newly built Kauai Community College. We were told it had been built to hurricane standards and was safe. The college had a metal roof made of long slates stretching from the top to bottom. As the hurricane grew in strength, I watched the " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate at one side of the building starting to flap…then flap more and more until it went flying into the air. Then, I watched the slate next to it do the same. This went on and on. When the eye of the hurricane went over us and everything slowed down, the people in that building rushed over to our building. For some reason our building’s roof held. Living on the Oregon Coast we get high winds every year. When I was informed about how the Interlock roof is tied together, I was sold on purchasing that style. Now, my roof can withstand up to a 180 per hour wind gust. I also like it’s look. After it was installed I sent a photo to a friend and her reaction was: “I thought you were going to buy a metal roof.” The roof even has a slate look to it. I used to own a business where we sent installation crews all across the country to install our multiple-run kennels. I know the importance of having a crew that knows what they are doing and are good representatives of our business. I give the Interlock installation crew an A+. They not only know what they are doing, but they are HARD WORKERS as well. On my job they went way beyond just roofing my house. They tore out the dilapidated structure around my chimney and built me a completely new one. They also added new flashing at the bottom of my roof windows, so I no longer have a problem with runoff ruining my wooden frame. I now have a new roof that will last much longer than me. It has added value to my home and peace of mind to me. When considering a new roof, I highly recommend Interlock.
We cannot begin to tell you how thoroughly satisfied we are, with not only our beautiful new slate roof, but every employee we had interaction with from start to finish.Mike and Damon were our first introduction to this company. They were polite, professional, informative and thorough in their presentation.Next we had several (over the phone) encounters with May. She worked diligently and professionally in getting our job scheduled between the time frame we needed. Now come the installers, Peter and Victor. These brothers are hard working, VERY knowledgeable, professional men with the highest of integrity. They started the job late (after coming from another job some distance away) the first evening, worked until dark. They returned the next morning, early, and put in 12 hours of work. (Again until just before dark)Came back and did an amazing job cleaning up everything! This is a quality product and a quality installation from a quality company we would recommend at any time.Thank you Interlock Industries, Inc. You have given these satisfied customers piece of mind in knowing we have a beautiful, lifetime roof.PositiveResponsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, ValueServicesRoof installation
After considering several different types of roofs and several different roofing companies for our house on the Oregon coast, we settled on Interlock Metal Roofing. We were not disappointed. Although it took about 8 months for the installation to happen due to weather, crew availability, and supply chain issues, it was worth the wait. The roof is beautiful and will last for many, many years. In addition, having the company that makes the roofing materials do the installation means that you have expert people installing the roof backed by expert people who know the product. We went with the Interlock Slate roof in black. It's stunning! Along with durability, the roof dresses up an otherwise plain house. An Interlock Metal Roof is not inexpensive. The cost can be a bit of a shock at first. But it's well worth the money. Positive, Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Scheduling the installation was a real bear; it kept getting delayed. Ultimately, it took 9 months from when we put our deposit down to when the roof was installed. That said, the installers were top-notch. They were quick, clean, polite, and answered all our questions. We absolutely love the roof and the two solar tubes they installed. Our neighbors all rave about how nice the house looks. They can't believe it is a metal roof. (We had the metal "cedar shake" style installed in charcoal gray.) I would definitely recommend them, but be patient with scheduling.PositiveQuality, ProfessionalismServicesAttic venting repairs, Roof installation, Skylight installation
Interlock installed a roof at our Tigard home in 2004 and it still looks brand new. When it was time to replace our Lincoln City house's roof at the beach, we did not hesitate to call them again. They work so hard to please and both roofs are beautiful.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Siletz
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Siletz, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Siletz.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Siletz's winters?
Yes — Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered to shed snow and prevent ice dams, which matters because Siletz averages about 31 cm of snow annually with 12 freeze-thaw days per year. The aluminum's smooth, sloped profiles naturally slide snow off before it becomes a structural burden. Unlike asphalt shingles that trap moisture and encourage ice backup, the metal surface doesn't absorb water, so meltwater drains freely. Optional snow guards are available if you want to control where snow drops. The lightweight design (Standing Seam installs around 0.41 lb/sq ft) also means no risk of overloading your rafters during thaw cycles.
How does a metal roof perform in Siletz's wet climate?
Interlock roofs are built for it — Siletz receives roughly 1815 mm of rain annually, and the four-way interlocking panel design sheds water faster than it can pool. Each panel locks to its neighbors on four sides, so water has to travel vertically or along the lock seams; it cannot pool horizontally. Installation over solid decking with underlayment creates a watertight system comparable to asphalt in rain protection, but without the absorbent substrate that leads to rot and mold. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms the design under IBC/IRC standards. Homeowners in salt-air coastal regions — and the rainy Pacific Northwest — have been running these roofs since 1998 without leak failures.
Why won't a metal roof rust in a wet climate?
Interlock roofing is aluminum, not steel, so it cannot rust because aluminum contains no iron — iron is what oxidizes and rusts. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopic oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath and self-heals when scratched or exposed. On top of that, Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel, which is especially valuable in Siletz's wet environment where moisture is constant. That dual-sided coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading under ASTM standards. Even in salt-air installations from coastal BC to Antarctica, the aluminum core stays sound for decades while the coating keeps the finish vibrant.
Can a metal roof withstand Siletz's coastal wind gusts?
Absolutely — Siletz sees typical daily winds around 21 km/h with gusts up to 137 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to hold fast in winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Each panel locks on all four edges to its neighbors, creating a unified system that resists uplift and lateral forces far better than overlapping shingles. This ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliant design has proven itself in windstorm regions and mountainous terrain across North America since 1998. The warranty backs the performance, so your roof won't lift or scatter when winter or storm gusts hit hard.
Is metal roofing durable against hail, and can it lower insurance costs?
Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is rare for any roofing material and has earned Interlock recognition from insurers and adjusters nationwide. Many homeowners report premium discounts or credits after installation, though you should ask your specific insurer about their discount schedule. In Siletz's climate of about 3083 annual sunshine hours and occasional severe weather, that impact durability translates to a roof that shrugs off what would dent or puncture traditional materials. Keep your UL 2218 documentation handy when you file an insurance claim or refinance.
Does metal roofing need structural reinforcement on an older home?
No structural reinforcement required — one of metal's biggest advantages. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile and dramatically lighter than slate or wood shake. That extreme lightness means most existing roof framing handles the install without any upgrades. This matters on older Siletz homes with aging rafters that might not support heavy materials. You can often install Interlock directly over your existing roof, eliminating costly tear-off labor and sending less waste to the landfill. The installer evaluates your deck during the free estimate, but the aluminum's featherweight design solves the structural problem for nearly every home.
Does a metal roof help with cooling costs?
Yes — Interlock's energy-efficient color options reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does. Emissivity reaches 0.84 and initial solar reflectance goes up to 0.55 on colors like Aged Copper Penny, meaning less of the sun's energy converts to heat in your attic. In Siletz's 3083 annual sunshine hours, that reflection adds up over the year. The reflective finish won't eliminate air conditioning costs entirely, but testing by the Cool Roof Rating Council confirms measurable energy savings compared to traditional shingles. Even in the Pacific Northwest's moderate climate, the cumulative effect across decades pays back the installation premium — you're buying efficiency baked into the metal itself, not something that degrades like reflective coatings applied over asphalt.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually require?
Minimal compared to asphalt, wood, or clay tile. Interlock roofs don't require annual inspections, don't rot, don't curl, don't split, and don't harbor moss or algae the way porous asphalt does in Siletz's 1815 mm annual rainfall. No patching, no re-nailing, no reflective coating reapplication. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance. You might rinse leaves or debris off a couple times a year, especially in fall, or hose down pollen from spring. That's it. Compare that to asphalt shingles, which need spot repairs and replacement after 15–20 years in a wet climate, or wood shake that demands regular treatment to prevent rot and insect damage. The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers material defects, so your only real cost is an occasional inspection — far below what other roofing demands.
What does Interlock's warranty actually cover and how long does it last?
The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance — all the failure modes that plague other materials. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion date. No prorated decline means if a defect occurs year 25, you're covered the same as year 1. The coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading under ASTM standards. Interlock's aluminum core has been installed continuously since 1998, so real-world performance data backs the promise. You're buying a roof you won't replace again, and when you sell, the buyer gets peace of mind.
