To whom it may concern I would like to commend you on your roofing products, and your choice employees. I recently had my roof replaced by your firm, I have received multiple compliments as to how nice it looks and enhances the appearance of my home. All your employees have been top notch, honest and genuinely helpful. Ross, your salesman, was great. He did not pressure us, we felt that he had our best interest at heart. He pointed out the options and showed us ways that we could reduce the financial impact. The two installers were Ukrainian. I did not get their names, but they were respectful and very business-like. They took their job very seriously and worked sunup to sundown (10 + hours) for the three days they were here. l did not see them take a break during that time. Lastly, Renee in the office was charged with the task of reminding me of the payment schedule, she did so with a great attitude and friendliness. Our experience was very positive. I would recommend your business to anyone looking for a new roof. Our job was accomplished with minimal interruption to our life. Our home was left pretty much as it was found except, we have a new roof. I do not anticipate any problems for the next 50+ years. [modula id="138011"]

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Aberdeen

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Aberdeen, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Aberdeen.

How does a metal roof handle Aberdeen's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice more reliably than asphalt because their smooth, hard surface prevents snow from bonding. With about 60 cm of snow per year and roughly 38 freeze-thaw days, your roof experiences repeated expansion and contraction that causes asphalt to crack and curl. Interlock's aluminum panels stay dimensionally stable through those cycles—the material itself doesn't degrade—and the four-way interlocking design prevents water infiltration even when ice dams form. Snow guards are available if you want to control shedding.

Does Interlock roof stop leaks in Aberdeen's 2300+ mm of annual rainfall?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap in all directions, so water cannot penetrate sideways or upward the way it can through traditional shingles. With Aberdeen receiving about 2305 mm of rain yearly, the roof must handle sustained moisture without degradation. Aluminum cannot rot or swell from water exposure—only asphalt, wood, and traditional tile absorb water and weaken over time. When installed to spec over solid decking with underlayment, the system is watertight and remains so for decades.

Why won't my metal roof rust in the Pacific Northwest's damp climate?

Interlock uses roofing-grade aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24 and 3003-H24), which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust chemically. When aluminum is exposed to air, it forms a protective oxide layer that heals itself when scratched—a property steel roofing does not have. The Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, adding a 30-year warranted barrier against corrosion in salt air and wet climates. In Grays Harbor County's damp 2789 annual sunshine hours and frequent high winds up to 106 km/h gusts, this dual protection keeps the roof intact.

Can a metal roof withstand Aberdeen's winter wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Aberdeen's typical wind gusts reach about 106 km/h, well within that rating. The interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on nails or fasteners to hold individual shingles. In a region where sustained coastal winds are common, this engineering eliminates the blow-off failures that plague traditional asphalt roofs in similar conditions.

Do I need to reinforce my home's framing for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb per square foot, and the Mediterranean Tile—which replicates heavy clay tile—weighs only about 0.59 lb per square foot. That makes it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so it installs directly over most existing roofs without engineering upgrades. This lightweight advantage means lower installation labor, faster turnaround, and no surprise foundation costs. In homes built in the early-to-mid 20th century throughout Grays Harbor County, this compatibility is a significant practical advantage.

What hail protection does Interlock metal roofing offer in Washington?

Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available for any roofing material. The product is even warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches—coverage that exceeds most insurance claims thresholds. While Grays Harbor County's climate features about 2305 mm of rain and 60 cm of snow rather than frequent hail, this impact rating provides insurance against the occasional severe storm. Many insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 rated roofs; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 documentation to explore savings.

Is a metal roof worth the cost over a standard asphalt roof?

You'll pay more upfront than asphalt, but the math shifts dramatically over time. Asphalt roofs require replacement every 15–20 years; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for the original owner covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling, and it's one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. Over a 50-year horizon, you're comparing one metal roof to three or more asphalt replacements, plus disposal costs and repeated labor. With Aberdeen's 38 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 2305 mm rainfall, asphalt's lifespan compresses further. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—both shift the true cost-per-year lower.

How long will my Interlock roof last, and what does the warranty cover?

Interlock carries The Guardian, a lifetime limited non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance, with no proration by age. It's one-time transferable, providing the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. With Aberdeen's extreme humidity, 60 cm of annual snow, and 38 freeze-thaw cycles, traditional roofing materials degrade quickly; aluminum's inherent stability and the fluorocarbon finish's 30-year color protection ensure decades of performance. This warranty structure reflects confidence in the product's actual lifespan in Pacific Northwest conditions.

How long does it take to install an Interlock metal roof in Aberdeen?

Installation timeline depends on roof size and complexity, but Interlock's lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) and four-way interlocking panels speed the process compared to traditional tile or slate. A major advantage: you can install over your existing roof in most cases, eliminating tear-off labor and disposal costs. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and handles permit coordination and installation scheduling. Contact the local installer for a site visit and timeline estimate specific to your home; financing with no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 can start immediately.

Is metal roofing environmentally responsible compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles end up in landfills and take decades to decompose. The material's durability means you install it once and forget it for 50+ years, avoiding the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle repeated every 15–20 years. With Aberdeen receiving about 2305 mm of rain annually and experiencing 38 freeze-thaw events per year, asphalt roofs fail faster and generate more waste. Interlock also holds CALGreen verification for reduced maintenance requirements. Choosing aluminum is both a practical decision for Pacific Northwest durability and a measurable reduction in your home's environmental footprint.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Aberdeen’s climate?

Yes. Aberdeen averages about 60 cm of snow, 2305 mm of rain, roughly 38 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 106 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
