Review: August 23, 2025 Completion: July 31, 2025

We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Review: September 13, 2017 Completion: August 4, 2017

I used them 10 years ago and I didn't have any problems but this situation is not good. They are not trying to fix the situation. The communication is one place they can improve by calling back their customers. I think they need to give a full disclosure of the products and the materials they used. I haven't been able to get a break down of the materials they used on my project. I just hope they really did my roof properly and didn't leave other pieces of rotten wood up on the roof covered up. I am hoping that the roof is done honorable and I am not having to contact them in 5 years with problems because they didn't put the roof up properly.

Review: August 31, 2016 Completion: June 10, 2016

I don't know that there was anything that could have been done better. It looks beautiful. I have had dozens of compliments. Everything is functioning well during bad weather. I give the entire experience an A+! I have to also add, Jonathan, our sales representative was also very charming, lovely, and easy to work with. Lastly, there was a lovely woman from British Columbia in the office who was very nice. The entire experience was very nice!

Review: June 10, 2021 Completion: May 31, 2021

We had some previous knowledge about the Interlock Roofing system as our neighbor had one installed in 2001. It looks fantastic and has held up beautifully so the decision was fairly easy. We enjoyed having Paul Wright out to give us the low down on the product and is very personable as well. Even my shy pooch gave him much attention & Paul shared plenty of scratches. We were replacing a 20 plus year old roof on a 1935 home. The crew was amazing, it must of been the hottest week in May & they worked many long days the hot roof. We are getting so many compliments on the roof so we know we made the right choice by having this amazing Interlock roof installed! Not at this time Not at this time

Review: April 17, 2018 Completion: April 2, 2018

The crew could have improved a little bit by better communicating their schedule, but every time that we asked them, they certainly told us exactly what was going on because they had some weather complications which were not their fault. We are pretty happy with it right now.

Review: May 23, 2019 Completion: April 30, 2019

We have already recommended them. We put Ross in touch with our contractor for our contractor's other clients. We really had a great experience and everything went smoothly. The coordination of the project went really well and it was very smooth.

Review: April 27, 2022 Completion: March 31, 2022

They could have improved on cleanliness, communication, and timeliness. The workers didn't understand how to work on my job site. They said they had completed the project when they had not. It has not been completed to the standards of the contract. I would like to speak to someone in higher management. I had a good experience with Ross and Paul.

It would have been nice to know the pricing of the skylights up front. It was very confusing when we were discussing them because there was a lot of back and forth. My house looks beautiful. The job was complicated and they did a great job.

Review: January 16, 2024 Completion: December 20, 2023

Interlock Roofing-Seattle provided professional service and the people are easy to work with. If there are any issues on your side, they'll take care of it, and also answer your questions. It is a little difficult to interface with the Ukrainian workers, but it worked out using a translation app to communicate. They'll get better as they go, so it's not an issue; everybody needs to work! They have great workers and there were no problems. For composition type roofing, they do need a better magnet to pick up the nails. They could have improved the communication and clean-up pertaining to picking up nails. It was a great experience! They have great crews!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Cedar Falls

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Cedar Falls, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Cedar Falls.

How does a metal roof handle Cedar Falls' annual snowfall and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow reliably because aluminum conducts heat and the smooth profile naturally encourages snowmelt. Cedar Falls averages about 194 cm of snow annually and roughly 58 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions that can trap moisture and cause ice dams on asphalt. Aluminum's oxide layer resists corrosion from repeated freeze-thaw stress, while the interlocking design prevents water from pooling at seams. Optional snow guards let you control snow release if you prefer. The lightweight panels (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) mean no structural reinforcement is needed, even under the heaviest seasonal load.

Why doesn't an aluminum roof rust, and does that matter in a rainy climate like Cedar Falls?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air. In Cedar Falls' wet environment—1,761 mm of rain annually—a steel roof would corrode over time, especially where fasteners penetrate. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 certified) finished with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides, warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading. If the coating is scratched during installation or trimming, the aluminum underneath simply oxidizes harmlessly. This means your roof won't weaken, stain, or require rust repairs—a genuine advantage in high-moisture regions.

Can metal roofing survive freeze-thaw cycling, or will it crack and fail?

Metal roofing actually thrives through freeze-thaw cycles because aluminum and its PVDF coating expand and contract uniformly without cracking. Cedar Falls experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year—freezing overnight, then warming during daylight—a rhythm that shatters asphalt shingles and can split wood shakes over time. Interlock's continuous aluminum panels flex slightly without fracture; the interlocking seams remain watertight even as temperature swings occur. Warranty coverage includes cracking and splitting, and the coating's durability is verified to ASTM D4214 standards. Wood shakes and clay tile suffer cumulative damage from this cycle, but aluminum's material properties actually improve its longevity in freeze-thaw regions.

Is a metal roof safe in high winds, or can it blow off?

Interlock's four-way interlocking design is engineered to hold fast during extreme wind events. Cedar Falls sees typical wind gusts around 128 km/h, and the system is warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—exceeding local storm risk. The panels interlock on all four sides, creating a unified assembly that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than putting strain on fasteners. Each connection point is tested and rated; the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating ensures the panels maintain structural integrity during the high-velocity turbulence that accompanies winter storms. Proper installation by a qualified contractor (like Interlock Metal Roofing PNW) is essential to achieve this warranty protection.

Can my house structure support a metal roof, or do I need to reinforce my framing?

Interlock metal roofing is so lightweight that no structural reinforcement is needed for most homes. The Mediterranean Tile profile, despite mimicking the look of clay or concrete tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than the material it imitates. Cedar Falls receives significant snow (about 194 cm annually), but the roof's minimal weight means winter loading is governed by snow, not the roofing material itself. In fact, one reason to choose aluminum over traditional tile is that you avoid expensive, invasive structural upgrades. Our local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., can install over most existing roofs without modification, saving money and construction time. A structural assessment is still wise, but weight is rarely the limiting factor.

What metal roof profiles are available, and can they really look like slate or wood shakes?

Interlock offers five distinct profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each engineered to capture the authentic dimensionality and shadow play of the original material. The Cedar Shingle and Shake profiles feature staggered edges and surface texturing that mimic the irregular overlap and grain of real wood, while the Slate profile replicates the fine linear pattern and subtle depth of slate. The Mediterranean Tile profile recreates the curved interlocking ribs of barrel tile. All profiles are available in colors formulated to match regional architecture. You're not settling for a flat, obviously metallic appearance; these are thoughtfully designed to integrate with Cedar Falls' residential neighborhoods. Interlock has been manufacturing these profiles in Delta, BC since 1998, so the dimensional accuracy is refined.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or wood?

Interlock metal roofing requires almost no maintenance—no annual inspections, no sealed seams to recoat, no debris removal rituals that asphalt demands. Asphalt shingles lose their granules, curl at edges, and need replaced every 15–20 years; wood shakes suffer rot and splitting, especially in Cedar Falls' 1,761 mm annual rainfall and 58 freeze-thaw days. With a metal roof, water sheds immediately, snow doesn't trap moisture, and the PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) resists fade and chalking. Gutters still need clearing, but the roof itself is inert. The lifetime limited warranty on the original owner means no prorated depreciation—you're covered against rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling for as long as you own the home. Maintenance costs are negligible.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can I get an insurance discount?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available—proven to withstand 1.5-inch hailstones without perforation. The warranty explicitly covers hail damage, including perforation. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for Class 4 metal roofing, sometimes 20–30% reductions. Cedar Falls averages about 2,743 sunshine hours annually, so severe hail events are infrequent, but when storms do strike, a metal roof's impact resistance gives genuine peace of mind. Contact your insurance agent with the product's ESR-1790 evaluation report and UL 2218 Class 4 rating to discuss potential savings. Over your roof's lifetime, the combination of durability and possible insurance credits can be substantial.

What's the warranty on a metal roof, and does it really last as long as claimed?

The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance at no cost. Unlike most roofing warranties that depreciate annually, this one doesn't. Upon sale, it's transferable to the next owner for a one-time fee, providing 50 years of protection from completion. Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998 and has installations in service for over 25 years, from coastal salt-air environments to Antarctic research stations—real-world proof of longevity. Cedar Falls' climate (1,761 mm rain, 194 cm snow, 58 freeze-thaw days) is rigorous, but aluminum's material properties and the PVDF coating's 30-year fade warranty are engineered to outlast it. You're buying your last roof.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Cedar Falls, and how long have they been in business?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. serves Cedar Falls and the broader region as the authorized local installer, with nearly 30 years of experience since 1997. They understand King County's wet climate, heavy snow load, and wind patterns—and they know how to install Interlock panels to warranty specification. When you work with a factory-authorized installer, you're ensuring the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025) compliance, proper integration with existing structure, and full warranty protection. Currently, they're offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. A local team also means faster service calls if ever needed.
