First I would like to say Thank you to your roofers Alex and Aven for a job well done on the installation of my new Interlock aluminum alloy slate roof in Tudor brown. Both men were here each day and worked diligently and conscientiously making sure that each step of their work was done to the highest expectations and meticulous at each step of the process and answered any questions that I had. In addition as they worked on different sections of the roof they were as quiet as possible for my daughter works nights at a local hospital and sleeps during the day. What a difference in curb appeal my Interlock roof has made to my house. It really stands out on the street and is a a lot quieter then the old cedar shake roof of 30 years. I am also most pleased with Interlocks high quality features, durability, and appearance during a recent rain shower and is maintenance free. The solar skylight installed with my new roof has made my upstairs hallway brighter. I love it. I would also like to thank Mr. Glen Caldwell for coming out from " title="Seattle" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Seattle and showing me the Interlock Roofing System, as the choice was mode easier by his presentation, and Heather for helping me with securing the container and for being patient while I got my financial situation in order. And finally, I would like to thank Alex and Aven for looking over my new Interlock roof one last time and making sure all roof debris was picked up and in the big container. Thank you I am very happy with my new roof.

Review: March 22, 2007

The installation of our Interlock Roof System was completed this week to our total satisfaction and expectation! The compliments of our new roof are just beginning to be received. Your installation crew of three young men, headed by Peter, are to be commended as they did an outstanding job of removing the old shingle roof, sheeting the roof surface with 1/2" CDX plywood prior to installing the interlocking aluminum panels of Tudor Brown. Our 3,000 sq. ft. home has numerous hips and ">valleys making it a more complicated roofing system than normal, but your installation crew was able to complete the project within ten working days. The crew's work ethic elicited several admiring comments from neighbors. One comment was, 'lt would be difficult to find a more hard working and thorough crew than what you had working on your home". We also appreciated the fact that the crew left the premises orderly after each day's work and completely removed all debris when the project was completed. The entire process from the visit of your sales representative, Glen Caldwell, to the work phase of the installation crew was done most professionally. The end product is a roof that reflects quality and one that we will not have to replace in our lifetime. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rodena Beach

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rodena Beach, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rodena Beach.

Will a metal roof handle Rodena Beach's snow and ice?

Yes — Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and resist ice dam formation, critical in a region that averages about 37 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 31 freeze-thaw days per year. The lightweight design (Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, and smooth panel profiles prevent snow bridging. The system is warranted to 120 mph wind resistance, protecting against the gusts up to 112 km/h common in Island County. Aluminum's thermal properties also help prevent the refreezing that triggers ice dams on colder roofs.

Why choose aluminum over steel roofing in a coastal climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — instead, it develops a self-healing oxide layer that protects against corrosion even when scratched. Steel roofs, by contrast, will oxidize and require protective coatings that degrade over time. Rodena Beach's 1148 mm of annual rainfall and coastal salt air make this distinction critical. Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244), providing a double-sided barrier. This sealed architecture is why Interlock installations range from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station without corrosion failures.

Can metal roofing withstand Island County wind gusts?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, well above Rodena Beach's typical gust patterns (average 17 km/h with peaks around 112 km/h). The interlocking mechanism distributes wind load across multiple panel connections, preventing the peel-back failures that plague single-fastened systems. This engineering earns ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (IBC/IRC, 2025 reissue) compliance, meaning your installation meets current building code in Washington. The warranty covers wind damage up to 120 mph when installed to specification — a critical safeguard against the seasonal storm systems that move through Island County.

Does metal roofing help with hail damage claims?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Rodena Beach's maritime climate rarely produces severe hail, the impact resistance matters: Class 4 certification demonstrates non-combustible durability that insurers recognize. Many carriers offer modest discounts for metal roofs rated Class 4, since claims for impact damage are statistically lower than for asphalt shingles. The warranty's explicit perforation coverage means you're protected regardless — a distinction that asphalt cannot match. Documentation of your system's rating should be shared with your insurer to explore available premium reductions.

Can you install metal roofing over an existing roof without reinforcement?

Yes — Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This extraordinary lightness means most existing roof structures can support Interlock without reinforcement, a major cost saving over traditional tile replacement. Installation directly over your current roof eliminates tear-off labor and debris disposal. The Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft is even lighter. This approach preserves your home's structural integrity and accelerates the installation timeline, important when you want to capitalize on the current promotion (no payments and no interest until Spring 2027) and minimize roof exposure in Rodena Beach's wet climate.

How does metal roofing perform in heavy Pacific Northwest rain?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels shed water mechanically — the overlapped seams direct rainfall downward faster than asphalt allows, reducing pooling risk in Rodena Beach's 1148 mm annual precipitation. The ICC-ES evaluated system (ESR-1790) meets IBC/IRC standards for water shedding and ventilation, ensuring rainwater routes to gutters rather than backing up under panels. Solid deck installation under the panels plus underlayment creates the same quiet, dry performance as asphalt. The Guardian Warranty explicitly covers water penetration and rot, giving you 50-year transferable coverage for the next homeowner. In a climate with roughly 37 cm snow that melts into additional water load, mechanical shedding outperforms gravity-only systems.

What's the real lifespan of Interlock metal roofing in Rodena Beach?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, meaning a home sale doesn't reset the warranty clock. Interlock's manufacturing pedigree (Delta, BC since 1998) and use from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations demonstrates real-world durability across extreme conditions. With 2898 sunshine hours, 1148 mm rain, and 31 freeze-thaw days annually, Rodena Beach's climate is moderate compared to deployment locations. A properly installed Interlock roof should outlast two or three asphalt roofs while maintaining structural and aesthetic integrity.

Who installs Interlock in Rodena Beach and the surrounding area?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served Island County and the broader Pacific Northwest region since 1997, bringing 27 years of local installation expertise to your project. The team understands Rodena Beach's specific weather patterns — the 112 km/h wind gusts, 31 annual freeze-thaw cycles, and 1148 mm rainfall — and specifies installation details accordingly. They're offering the current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Having a local installer matters for post-installation service and warranty support. Contact them to schedule a site inspection and receive a detailed estimate tailored to your home's structure and your chosen profile (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, or Standing Seam).

Is aluminum roofing truly more environmentally responsible than asphalt?

Yes — Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable and designed to end the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Each asphalt roof replacement generates waste that persists for decades; aluminum panels retain value in salvage markets and aluminum recycling infrastructure. Manufacturing Interlock panels in Delta, BC uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), materials that cycle indefinitely without property loss. Over a 50-year lifespan, installing one Interlock roof prevents multiple asphalt roofs from entering landfills. CALGreen verification underscores reduced maintenance burden, meaning fewer chemical treatments and less waste. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year warranty) eliminates the paint touch-ups that traditional metal roofing requires, further reducing chemical consumption and disposal.

What roofing profiles does Interlock offer for traditional home aesthetics?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile — each formed from four-way interlocking aluminum panels. Slate replicates refined, fine-grained stone; Cedar Shingle and Shake capture the weathered dimensionality of wood; Mediterranean Tile delivers the curved clay aesthetic popular in coastal regions. Standing Seam provides clean, linear appeal for contemporary designs. All profiles use the same roofing-grade aluminum alloy and Alunar 70% PVDF coating, so aesthetic choice doesn't compromise durability or the 120 mph wind warranty. Each profile carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance. Rodena Beach's maritime heritage suits Cedar Shingle, Shake, or Slate profiles; Mediterranean Tile appeals to homes with transitional or coastal-contemporary styling. Choose your preferred profile during the consultation with Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc.
