What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Shaw
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Shaw, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Shaw.
Will a metal roof hold up through Shaw's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum's non-corrosive nature makes it ideal for Skagit County's approximately 58 freeze-thaw days annually. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle and cracks when exposed to repeated freezing and thawing, aluminum expands and contracts without degradation. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has no iron content, so ice cannot trigger rust or structural failure. The four-way interlocking system keeps panels seated even during thermal movement, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating remains flexible across temperature swings, maintaining the 30-year warranty against chalking.
How does Interlock metal roofing perform with Shaw's annual snowfall?
Skagit County averages about 34 cm of snow yearly—manageable for aluminum's smooth, sloped profiles that shed snow and ice rather than trapping moisture. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles are designed to break up accumulation; Standing Seam is fastest. Snow guards are optional and available if you prefer retention. The material weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle profile), so snow load never stresses your structure—a major advantage over traditional slate or concrete tile. Metal's non-porous surface resists ice dam formation at the eave, reducing the freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt shingles after 100 snow events.
Can aluminum metal roofing rust in a wet climate like Shaw?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. With annual rainfall near 1348 mm in Skagit County, moisture exposure is constant, but aluminum instead forms a self-healing oxide layer—invisible and permanent. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 alloys (ASTM B209) are specifically chosen for coastal and wet-climate durability; Interlock panels have installed from Pacific salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. The two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (applied to both faces) adds an extra 30-year warranty against corrosion, fading, and chalking, making aluminum far more durable than steel roofing in high-moisture conditions.
Will Interlock metal roofing withstand Skagit County's wind gusts?
Absolutely. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well above Shaw's typical gusts, which average around 17 km/h with occasional peaks near 110 km/h. The four-way mechanical lock (top, bottom, left, right) distributes wind load across the entire roof, preventing lift or panel separation. Each profile—Slate, Shake, Cedar Shingle, Tile, Standing Seam—locks identically. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 verifies compliance with IBC/IRC wind load standards, and the installation method (fastened over solid deck or existing roof) ensures tested performance even in the region's windiest seasons.
Does a metal roof require structural reinforcement for my home in Shaw?
No. Interlock aluminum roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no beam upgrades, no rafter reinforcement, and no structural engineering. You can install Interlock directly over most existing asphalt roofs, avoiding costly tear-off and disposal. Skagit County homes with older framing that would buckle under traditional tile can safely support the aluminum equivalent. The lightweight design also reduces snow load stress during your 34 cm annual snowfall and simplifies labor, shortening installation time and cost.
How does Interlock metal roofing handle Shaw's heavy rainfall?
Interlock's four-way mechanical lock and standing-seam profiles shed the 1348 mm of annual rainfall typical for Shaw without pooling water. Each panel interlocks on all four edges, so water sheds downslope—the slope and the lock geometry do the work. Installation over a solid deck or existing roof with ICC-ES–compliant underlayment (ESR-1790) ensures zero water penetration. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade when saturated, aluminum is non-absorbent; moisture never enters the material. The panels' overlap design and seam geometry have been proven across wet coastal climates and heavy-rain regions, making them far more reliable than shingles in Skagit's persistent drizzle and seasonal storms.
Will an Interlock metal roof reduce cooling costs in Shaw's climate?
Yes, especially with energy-efficient colors. Shaw averages about 3155 sunshine hours annually, and reflective profiles reduce heat absorption compared to asphalt. Interlock's energy-efficiency colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), reflecting the heat that dark asphalt absorbs. Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms measurable energy savings. In summer months, this reduces attic temperature and cooling load. The lighter metal surface also stays cooler to the touch, limiting thermal stress on fasteners and extending component life. Over a 50-year roof lifespan, cumulative energy savings offset the upfront cost difference versus asphalt.
Does Interlock metal roofing reduce hail damage and insurance costs?
Interlock meets UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Skagit County's climate is not hail-prone compared to interior regions, severe storms do occur, and Class 4 certification may qualify you for insurance discounts (verify with your carrier). Aluminum's hardness resists deformation; even Class 4 impact does not reduce the roof's wind or water resistance. In contrast, asphalt shingles can be damaged by smaller impacts and require replacement, driving claims and premiums upward over decades. The combination of impact resistance, non-degrading material, and low maintenance makes aluminum an insurable asset.
What warranty covers Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it really last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original homeowner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no time limit. It transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from completion, adding resale value. In practice, aluminum roofs installed since 1998 in coastal and wet climates outlast their 50-year warranty term; the non-corrosive material and 30-year Alunar coating warranty mean your roof will outlive your ownership. Skagit County's 1348 mm annual rainfall accelerates asphalt failure but does not affect aluminum—you're buying your last roof.
