What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Villa Terrace
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Villa Terrace, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Villa Terrace.
Does metal roofing handle Wisconsin's snow and ice buildup?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice reliably without the buildup problems that plague asphalt in freeze-thaw cycles. Villa Terrace gets about 88 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 79 freeze-thaw days per year, conditions that cause asphalt to curl, crack, and fail early. Aluminum's smooth surface and interlocking design allow snow to slide safely with proper pitch and optional snow guards. The material itself strengthens in cold and won't become brittle; it remains flexible through repeated temperature swings. Metal roofing is the engineer's choice for heavy snow zones because it never deteriorates from freeze-thaw stress.
Why is aluminum roofing better than steel for rust prevention?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and breaks down in moisture. Steel roofing requires protective coatings that eventually fail; aluminum's oxide layer forms naturally and heals itself when scratched. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with a dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish for extra durability in wet climates like Milwaukee County, where you average 822 mm of annual rainfall. Over 25 years, an aluminum roof won't rust through or degrade from moisture exposure, while steel alternatives progressively lose protection and develop corrosion blooms.
How does metal roofing hold up to freeze-thaw cycling?
Metal roofing excels under freeze-thaw stress because aluminum's crystalline structure actually strengthens when cold and never becomes brittle or loses flexibility. With 79 freeze-thaw days per year in Villa Terrace, asphalt shingles crack and curl from repeated expansion and contraction; wood shakes split; concrete and clay tiles fracture. Interlock aluminum panels expand and contract uniformly without generating internal stress. The material was field-proven in an Antarctic research station and in coastal salt-air homes across decades, surviving conditions far harsher than Wisconsin winters. No seasonal maintenance or special precautions are needed—the roofing simply works through every thaw cycle without deterioration.
Can my house frame handle a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?
You almost certainly won't need structural reinforcement. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile—one of the heaviest aesthetics available—installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than traditional concrete or clay tile. Most homes can handle this as a reroof directly over existing shingles. For comparison, Slate runs 0.41 lb/sq ft and Shake 0.58 lb/sq ft. A typical asphalt roof weighs roughly the same or more per square foot. Because installation is so light, your home's frame won't need reinforcement, and the job stays simpler and faster. A structural engineer can confirm in minutes if you have any doubt, but lightweight aluminum is why metal roofing works on older homes that couldn't support traditional tile.
Will a metal roof stay on in Milwaukee County wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Villa Terrace's typical gusts reach about 96 km/h (60 mph), well within safe limits, and even extreme local gusts would be covered. The interlocking design—each panel locks on four sides to its neighbors—distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than putting stress on individual fasteners. This engineering is why metal roofing performs so well in coastal hurricane zones and high-wind regions. Your roof won't move or lift during the strong spring and fall storms common in Wisconsin; the panels are simply held down by their own geometry.
Does metal roofing resist hail, and can it lower my insurance rates?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum will not dent, crack, or lose impact resistance from typical Wisconsin hail. Many insurance companies recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofing; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating to explore savings. Your roof experiences roughly 822 mm of annual rainfall and Milwaukee County's spring storms, but aluminum's hardness means hail damage is extremely rare compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Over the roof's lifetime, the insurance savings alone can offset material cost.
Does a metal roof really save money on cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile) and thermal emissivity of 0.84. In summer months when Villa Terrace averages 3128 sunshine hours annually, reflective coatings reduce the heat load your air conditioning must fight. The Cool Roof Rating Council confirms that metal roofing with these properties stays significantly cooler than asphalt, which absorbs and re-radiates heat into the attic. Summer cooling savings are typically 10-15%, with greater benefit in southern-facing roofs. You'll notice the difference most in hot spells; the payback compounds year after year without any action on your part.
What maintenance does a metal roof actually need compared to asphalt or tile?
Virtually none. Asphalt requires inspection for granule loss and splits every few years, wood shakes need treatment for rot and mold, and tile needs mortar repointing and broken-piece replacement. Interlock aluminum requires no sealants, no treatments, and no seasonal work—just a rinse if visible debris accumulates, which is optional. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 and D2244 measured) means the finish won't require renewal. Gutters catch leaves as always, but the roof itself won't degrade, crack, curl, or rot through your ownership. The Guardian Warranty covers material failure, not maintenance tasks, because aluminum simply doesn't deteriorate. Many owners forget about their roofs—which is exactly the point.
Can metal roofing be installed over my existing shingles, and how long does the job take?
Yes, installation over existing asphalt is straightforward because Interlock weighs so little (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft) that no structural reinforcement is needed. The existing shingles become an additional moisture barrier and thermal layer. Installers fasten new battens to your roof deck, lay underlayment, and snap the interlocking panels in place—the four-way lock means fewer fasteners and faster assembly than traditional metal. Most residential roofs complete in 1-2 days depending on size and complexity. The overlap method eliminates the labor-intensive tear-off and disposal that asphalt requires, saving cost and keeping debris out of your gutters. Your home stays weather-tight throughout the job.
What does the Interlock lifetime warranty actually cover, and does it transfer to the next owner?
The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for you as the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. If your roof fails for any of these reasons, Interlock replaces the material at no cost—not a prorated charge. The warranty transfers to the next owner once, good for 50 years from completion date, adding resale appeal and demonstrating the manufacturer's confidence in durability. No other roofing material offers this combination: asphalt typically lasts 15-20 years, wood shakes 20-30 with maintenance, tile 50+ years but at triple the weight and cost. When you buy Interlock, you're buying the last residential roof you'll install.
