What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sun Valley
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sun Valley, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sun Valley.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?
Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it does not crack, rot, or absorb moisture the way asphalt or wood does. Sun Valley experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year—intense cycling that destroys conventional materials. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy was designed for exactly this stress. The oxide layer self-heals surface scratches, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating remains flexible across temperature ranges. No warping, no splits, no seasonal degradation.
How does a metal roof perform under Sun Valley's snow load?
Metal roofing sheds snow far more effectively than asphalt. Sun Valley receives about 88 cm of snow annually plus 822 mm of rain. The smooth, interlocking aluminum panels—especially Slate and Tile profiles—slide snow and ice off rather than trapping moisture that causes ice dams and rot. The panels weigh 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, so accumulated snow burden is minimal and no structural reinforcement is needed. You can add snow guards if desired, but the metal surface itself prevents the water seepage that plagues shingle roofs in freeze-thaw climates.
Why doesn't an aluminum metal roof rust in Wisconsin's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. When exposed to air, aluminum instantly forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal beneath—even if scratched during installation or maintenance. Steel roofs rust; aluminum does not. This is why Interlock panels are manufactured to ASTM B209 roofing-grade aluminum alloy (3105-H24 / 3003-H24). Add the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating—warranted 30 years against fading—and your roof is armored against Wisconsin's 822 mm annual rainfall and salt spray if near any road de-icing. This resistance is not a feature; it is the fundamental chemistry of the material.
Can a metal roof stand up to Wisconsin wind gusts?
Yes. Sun Valley's typical wind gusts reach 96 km/h; Interlock roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well above your local conditions. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock each sheet to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than allowing individual shingles to lift or flutter. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms code compliance for high wind zones. This engineering means gusts that would tear asphalt shingles simply slide past your roof.
Do I need to reinforce my house to install an aluminum metal roof?
No reinforcement is needed. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replaces 1,200+ lb/sq ft concrete or clay tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter. Even the heavier Shake profile (0.58 lb/sq ft) weighs less than a typical asphalt roof over time when moisture saturation is factored in. This light weight lets Interlock install directly over most existing roofs, eliminating expensive structural upgrades. For Sun Valley homes with older framing, this is a real financial advantage. You get the luxury aesthetic without the load burden.
What hail rating does an aluminum metal roof have, and can it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium discounts because hail damage claims are virtually eliminated. Since Wisconsin's 88 cm annual snow can include hail within that moisture, this is not theoretical protection. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification; many carriers recognize it and apply immediate discounts. That reduction typically starts paying for itself within a few years.
What warranty does Interlock offer, and how long will the roof actually last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. Interlock has manufactured aluminum roofing since 1998 and installed panels from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, with oldest installations still performing. In Sun Valley's climate of 3,128 sunshine hours annually and 79 freeze-thaw cycles, expect 50+ years of service—meaning this is the last roof you buy.
Is a metal roof worth the higher upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Aluminum metal roofing costs more upfront than asphalt but delivers lifetime value. Over a 50-year horizon, you will replace asphalt shingles 4–5 times (15–20 year lifespan each); labor, disposal, and material compound. Interlock's one-time installation, zero maintenance, and non-prorated lifetime warranty eliminate those cycles entirely. Your resale home retains the roof system intact—transferable to the next owner for another 50 years. Factor in potential insurance discounts (hail rating, non-combustibility) and energy savings (energy-efficient colors with up to 0.55 solar reflectance), and the payback window narrows significantly. For a permanent home investment, aluminum is the lower total cost.
Can an aluminum metal roof help reduce cooling costs in summer?
Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning they reflect heat that dark asphalt absorbs. Sun Valley receives about 3,128 sunshine hours per year. On warm days, reflective metal roofing reduces attic temperature gain compared to black or gray asphalt, lowering air conditioning load. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms measurable energy benefit. Combined with the roof's zero maintenance and 30-year coating durability, you are trading higher initial cost for sustained energy efficiency across decades of Wisconsin summers.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Sun Valley, and how long have they served this area?
Interlock Metal Roofing, the manufacturer's direct installer, has served this region since 2001. Your local team understands Sun Valley's climate profile—88 cm snow, 822 mm rain, 79 freeze-thaw days, and gusts to 96 km/h—and specifies the right profiles and fastening methods for your home. Factory training ensures ICC-ES ESR-1790 code-compliant installation. You work directly with the maker, not a third-party contractor, which means faster troubleshooting and accountability for every panel. When you call with questions about your roof, you are speaking with people who engineered it.
