What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Jackson Park
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Jackson Park, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Jackson Park.
Will freeze-thaw cycling damage a metal roof in Wisconsin winters?
No—aluminum actually thrives through freeze-thaw cycles because it has no iron and cannot rust, even when water penetrates the oxide layer. Jackson Park experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year, which would crack wood shakes or degrade asphalt's bond, but aluminum's crystal structure remains stable through repeated expansion and contraction. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy and Alunar coating work together to withstand your region's roughly 88 cm of annual snowfall and the stress that comes with it. This is why Interlock panels install successfully from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station—material science, not luck.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice dams in Jackson Park?
Metal roofing sheds snow efficiently because of its smooth, sloped panel geometry and low thermal mass—it doesn't trap heat the way asphalt does, so it's less prone to the uneven melting that creates ice dams. With about 88 cm of snow annually and typical wind gusts reaching 96 km/h, snow shedding is a real advantage; the four-way interlocking panels stay watertight even as snow shifts. You can also install snow guards in the profile of your choice—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, or Standing Seam—to control release safely. The light weight (Slate installs at about 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your existing structure handles the snow load without reinforcement.
Can a metal roof stand up to Jackson Park's wind gusts?
Yes. The four-way interlocking panel design is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), and your region's typical gusts top out around 96 km/h. The panels lock on all four sides—not just the edges—so even strong wind can't lift or separate them. Jackson Park's mean wind is roughly 22 km/h with seasonal variations, but metal roofing built to spec handles worst-case gusts without fail. That confidence comes from the engineering: when one panel interlocks with its neighbors in all directions, the whole roof acts as one unified system rather than individual shingles that can be compromised one at a time.
Is a metal roof too heavy for an existing house structure?
The opposite is true—metal roofing is so light that it eliminates structural concerns entirely. The Interlock Tile profile, for example, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Even the Shake profile at about 0.58 lb/sq ft is lighter than asphalt shingles on most older homes. You can install Interlock metal roofing directly over your existing roof in most cases, with no structural reinforcement needed. This is especially valuable in Jackson Park, where you're already managing about 88 cm of snow annually; the lightweight aluminum means you're actually reducing the total load your rafters carry compared to tearing off old shingles and replacing them with something heavier.
Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Steel roofs depend on coatings to prevent corrosion; if the coating scratches, rust can start beneath the surface and spread invisibly. Aluminum forms a thin oxide layer naturally, and if that layer is scratched, it heals itself chemically. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of each panel for extra protection, and it's warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). With Jackson Park averaging about 822 mm of rain and 88 cm of snow per year, the self-healing oxide layer combined with the two-sided coating means your roof stays protected year after year without the rust risk that steel carries.
Why aluminum instead of steel for a roof in Wisconsin's wet climate?
Does hail damage metal roofing, and will my insurance company care?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This real durability often translates to insurance discounts because underwriters recognize that impact-rated metal roofing outlasts asphalt and resists damage that would require claims. While Jackson Park's hail risk is typical for Wisconsin rather than extreme, the Class 4 rating protects you against worst-case weather and gives you peace of mind that claims won't drain your coverage. Talk to your insurance agent about your specific policy; many carriers reward Class 4 metal roofs with measurable savings.
Will a metal roof keep my house cooler in summer and reduce energy bills?
Metal roofing can reduce cooling costs through its reflective properties. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, which means they reflect heat that dark asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. Jackson Park receives about 3,128 sunshine hours annually, so even in a northern climate, summer heat gain matters. The Cool Roof Rating Council has rated these colors specifically for their cooling performance. While Wisconsin winters are longer than summers, a reflective roof reduces daytime solar gain year-round and works with your HVAC system to lower overall energy costs—especially if you choose a lighter profile like Slate or Cedar Shingle that maximizes exposed surface area.
How much upkeep does a metal roof actually need?
Virtually none compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Asphalt shingles require moss removal, algae treatment, and frequent inspections for granule loss and curling. Wood shakes split, rot, and need annual sealing. Tile cracks and requires re-pointing. Aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or lose its fire rating—it just stays metal. The Alunar coating is warranted 30 years against fading and chalking, so your roof's appearance stays stable through Jackson Park's roughly 822 mm of rain and 88 cm of snow annually. Basic maintenance means keeping gutters clear and inspecting flashing after severe weather. That's it. The Guardian Warranty covers splitting, cracking, curling, rotting, and loss of impact resistance for the original owner's lifetime—non-prorated—so your only real cost is the rare contractor visit, not constant repairs.
What's the real difference between a metal roof warranty and asphalt shingle warranties?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning there's no deductible that grows over time, and it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance from day one through your entire ownership. When you sell, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, which adds real resale value. Asphalt warranties typically last 20–30 years and are heavily prorated—after year 5 or 10, you're covering most repair costs yourself. With Jackson Park's 79 annual freeze-thaw days and roughly 88 cm of snow, material durability directly affects how long you own the roof versus how often you replace it. The math is simple: a roof you never have to replace is the last roof you ever buy.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Jackson Park?
Interlock Metal Roofing has served the Milwaukee County region since 2001 and is the authorized installer for Jackson Park and surrounding communities. That 20+ year track record means the contractor understands local building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance is verified), local climate challenges like your region's 79 freeze-thaw days and 96 km/h wind gusts, and the practical details of installing over existing roofs. When you work with the local installer, you're getting someone who knows which profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, or Standing Seam—perform best in your neighborhood's specific weather patterns and architectural context. They handle the entire process from inspection and permitting through installation and warranty registration, so your roof is built to the manufacturing spec that earned ESR-1790 approval and UL 2218 Class 4 rating.
