What our customers are saying:
It's too early to tell. The roof looks good and has held up against rain for one month. Scheduling the project was very challenging. It took lots of pushing and back and forth to establish a two week window, months out, for the installation. It took from October until August the next year from start to finish. This most likely wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my roof was already leaking and my work schedule is abnormal. The installation team was excellent. Nice people, clear interactions and expectations.
They can improve their communication after signing the contract with a salesperson. There were a few months where I didn't have a direct contact to check in for materials during the timeframe of the project because I had a couple of projects going on at the same time with the solar panels being installed. It all worked out, but I think that would be an area to improve in. It looks beautiful, and I love it!
Better communication around delays in start date. I would have been find with delays if they were transparent and kept to date as we passed what we were told multiple times.
They could improve on communication, getting back to me. I got mixed messages with them about installation dates. At one time they were supposed to show up on a Tuesday, then said Wednesday, then it was 3 weeks after that when they showed up. There is horrible communication between the installation people, that call to let you know, and the regional installation manager. He told me I lied, that they weren't supposed to be there that day, so I called corporate, and they said yes, they were. Then they said it would be the next day. I love my roof. Dealing with them was kinda hard.
That is only based on the fact that they misled me with the project date. They could have improved on their communication with the customer and given a realistic starting date. They used weather related issues for the reason for the delays and there were no weather issues in our area, that is for sure. One of the reasons why I agreed to the price was because of the timeframe that they told me that they could have the job finished in. If I knew that the job wasn't going to be done until February, I would have got other quotes from other companies. I agreed to the price because of the timeframe that they said that they could finish the project in.
Really nothing that I can think of. They did a great job installing my roof. So very happy with the roof and the way it looks. I get a lot of comments. All good. Thank You Steve Doine
If you could get the price lower then I would chose Interlock Roofing.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Clarke Square
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Clarke Square, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Clarke Square.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum is actually ideal for freeze-thaw climates like Clarke Square, which experiences about 79 freeze-thaw days per year. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle and cracks as temperature swings stress the material, aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without structural damage. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) protects the oxide layer that forms naturally on the aluminum surface; even if snow or ice contact scratches it, the oxide layer self-heals. Wood shakes and shingles split and curl in these conditions—aluminum simply flexes and recovers.
How does Interlock handle the snow load and ice dams we get in Clarke Square?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels shed snow and prevent pooling—critical in a region that averages about 88 cm of snow annually. The lightweight design (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your existing roof structure handles the material itself with no reinforcement needed, so snow load is your only structural concern, not the roof itself. Optional snow guards are available to control avalanche-style slides onto walkways. The smooth, hard aluminum surface doesn't trap moisture the way asphalt does, reducing ice dam formation at the eaves during those freeze-thaw cycles.
Can Interlock stand up to Wisconsin winter and spring winds?
Absolutely. The four-way interlocking design is warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well beyond Clarke Square's typical gust speeds of about 96 km/h. Each panel locks on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. During the spring storms that bring those higher gusts, the interlocking geometry keeps panels from lifting or flapping. Steel roofs depend on fasteners and can work loose; aluminum interlocks create a unified system that only gets tighter under pressure.
Why choose aluminum over steel roofing?
Aluminum contains no iron, so it simply cannot rust—ever. Where steel roofing oxidizes into rust that spreads and weakens the material, aluminum develops a thin, transparent oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath and self-heals when scratched. Clarke Square receives about 822 mm of rain annually, and the freeze-thaw cycle (79 days per year) intensifies corrosion risk for steel or iron-based metals. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy and dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF finish (both sides) create redundant protection. If you ever compare quotes, ask competitors how their steel or copper roofs handle 25+ years of exposure—then ask about repair costs when rust appears.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than traditional clay or concrete tile. Most homes in Clarke Square can handle the snow load (your real structural challenge in a region averaging 88 cm annually) without upgrades. The lightweight aluminum installs directly over most existing roofs, whether asphalt, wood, or composition shingles, saving thousands on decking removal and structural work. A concrete tile roof of the same footprint would require expensive beam reinforcement; Interlock doesn't. This is why the product installs from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station—it adapts to existing structures.
Will a metal roof reduce my heating and cooling costs?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Selected finishes achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—meaning they radiate heat efficiently, reducing air-conditioning load on hot days and keeping interior temperatures stable during temperature swings. Clarke Square averages about 3,128 sunshine hours per year, so summer reflectance genuinely matters. In winter, the reflective surface won't prevent heat loss through the roof itself, but the Cool Roof Rating Council certification documents measurable energy performance. Combined with the material's longevity (no tear-off-and-reinstall every 20 years), the energy profile offsets the upfront material cost over time.
Is metal roofing good for hail protection—and can it lower my insurance?
Interlock carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating (the highest available) and is warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. The rigid aluminum panels and four-way interlocking design spread impact energy across the roof instead of concentrating it on one fastener or seam. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on homeowner policies for Class 4 metal roofs, though discounts vary by carrier and location. Clarke Square's 822 mm annual rainfall and spring storm frequency make hail a real risk. Unlike asphalt (which dents and loses granules permanently), aluminum dents cosmetically but retains structural integrity and the warranty covers the impact itself.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Metal costs more initially, but it's your last roof. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years and ends in a landfill; Interlock carries a lifetime limited material warranty (non-prorated for the original owner) and a 50-year transferable term for the next owner. Over 50 years, you'll replace asphalt 2–3 times at thousands each, plus the labor and landfill impact. Interlock stays put. In a freeze-thaw climate with 79 annual cycles and 88 cm of snow, asphalt degrades faster—curling, cracking, and losing granules. Add insurance discounts (Class 4 impact rating), no maintenance costs, and energy savings from reflective coatings, and the total cost of ownership heavily favors metal. Resale value increases too.
What maintenance does an Interlock roof actually require?
Virtually none. Unlike wood shakes (which split and rot after about 20 years in freeze-thaw climates), asphalt (which sheds granules and curls), or tile (which cracks), Interlock aluminum requires no re-coating, sealing, or structural repair. Occasional gutter cleaning and debris removal (leaves, pine needles) is standard for any roof in Wisconsin's climate—about 822 mm of rain and 88 cm of snow per year create buildup. The CALGreen certification documents reduced maintenance versus traditional materials. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish resists chalking and fading for 30 years, so you won't see color fade even under 3,128 sunshine hours annually. You'll save thousands on maintenance over the roof's life compared to wood or asphalt.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Installation typically takes 1–3 days depending on roof size and complexity. Yes, Interlock installs directly over most existing asphalt, wood, or composition shingles—no tear-off required, which saves cost and eliminates landfill waste from old shingles. A solid deck and underlayment are installed under the panels to meet code (ICC-ES ESR-1790, reissued 2025) and to create a quiet interior (metal + solid deck + underlayment = asphalt-quiet rain noise). If your existing roof has significant damage or structural issues, removal may be necessary, but most Clarke Square homes can avoid that step. The four-way interlocking panels lock together as installation proceeds, so the roof becomes progressively stronger as the crew works.
