Review: September 27, 2023 Completion: August 29, 2023

It's too early to tell. The roof looks good and has held up against rain for one month. Scheduling the project was very challenging. It took lots of pushing and back and forth to establish a two week window, months out, for the installation. It took from October until August the next year from start to finish. This most likely wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my roof was already leaking and my work schedule is abnormal. The installation team was excellent. Nice people, clear interactions and expectations.

Review: May 9, 2023 Completion: March 24, 2023

They can improve their communication after signing the contract with a salesperson. There were a few months where I didn't have a direct contact to check in for materials during the timeframe of the project because I had a couple of projects going on at the same time with the solar panels being installed. It all worked out, but I think that would be an area to improve in. It looks beautiful, and I love it!

Review: March 21, 2022 Completion: February 14, 2022

Better communication around delays in start date. I would have been find with delays if they were transparent and kept to date as we passed what we were told multiple times.

Review: March 11, 2022 Completion: February 14, 2022

They could improve on communication, getting back to me. I got mixed messages with them about installation dates. At one time they were supposed to show up on a Tuesday, then said Wednesday, then it was 3 weeks after that when they showed up. There is horrible communication between the installation people, that call to let you know, and the regional installation manager. He told me I lied, that they weren't supposed to be there that day, so I called corporate, and they said yes, they were. Then they said it would be the next day. I love my roof. Dealing with them was kinda hard.

Review: February 12, 2018 Completion: February 3, 2018

That is only based on the fact that they misled me with the project date. They could have improved on their communication with the customer and given a realistic starting date. They used weather related issues for the reason for the delays and there were no weather issues in our area, that is for sure. One of the reasons why I agreed to the price was because of the timeframe that they told me that they could have the job finished in. If I knew that the job wasn't going to be done until February, I would have got other quotes from other companies. I agreed to the price because of the timeframe that they said that they could finish the project in.

Really nothing that I can think of. They did a great job installing my roof. So very happy with the roof and the way it looks. I get a lot of comments. All good. Thank You Steve Doine

Review: May 17, 2017 Completion: July 29, 2016

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Juneau Town

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Juneau Town, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Juneau Town.

How does a metal roof handle Juneau Town's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice far better than asphalt because aluminum's smooth, hard surface prevents ice dams from forming and snow from binding. Juneau Town receives about 88 cm of snow annually over roughly 79 freeze-thaw days, a cycle that cracks and curls asphalt shingles but leaves aluminum unaffected. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels lock moisture out entirely, and the lightweight design (Slate installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain from snow load. Snow guards can be added if you prefer controlled shedding. Your roof will outlive decades of freeze-thaw without the degradation asphalt suffers.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust, and does that matter in Wisconsin?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and weakens. Instead, aluminum develops a microscopic oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath and self-heals when scratched. This matters in Wisconsin because you get nearly 82 cm of annual rainfall plus 88 cm of snow, meaning constant moisture exposure. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy and are finished with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel roofing, by contrast, rusts unless coatings are perfect—even small breaches fail. You'll never replace your roof due to rust.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Wisconsin damage metal roofing over time?

No. Aluminum's crystalline structure doesn't crack, curl, or become brittle when exposed to freeze-thaw cycling. With approximately 79 freeze-thaw days per year in Juneau Town, this is exactly the test your roof faces, and metal roofs pass it far better than asphalt or wood. Asphalt loses flexibility in cold and becomes porous in thaw; wood splits and warps. Aluminum remains dimensionally stable across temperature swings. The Alunar finish also resists chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 rated over 30 years), so your roof's appearance and protective coating won't degrade from seasonal stress. You're investing in a material built for this climate.

Does Juneau Town hail risk affect metal roofing insurance or coverage?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest hail classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts or better terms, offsetting the roof's cost advantage. While Juneau Town's average wind gusts reach about 96 km/h, hail damage is less common here than in plains states, but when it does occur, metal's non-dent performance and zero-deductible hail coverage under the Guardian Warranty mean you're protected. Contact your insurer about discounts; many recognize Class 4 as equivalent to or better than steel, and some offer 5-15% savings for non-combustible roofs.

Can a metal roof stand up to Wisconsin's winter wind and spring gusts?

Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—far exceeding Juneau Town's typical daily-max winds of about 22 km/h and even the strongest gusts around 96 km/h. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, creating a unified system that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on a few fasteners. This engineering means spring storms and winter gales won't lift, crack, or separate your panels. The system has been installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, so Wisconsin's wind climate is well within its proven range. Your roof will still be intact long after the storm passes.

Is metal roofing light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?

Absolutely. The Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is needed, and Interlock installs directly over most existing roofs. Even the heavier Shake profile comes in at just 0.58 lb/sq ft. This weight advantage saves thousands on framing upgrades and means your home's structure absorbs almost no additional load. Compare that to real slate or tile, which can weigh 700-1000 lb per square, and you'll see why aluminum makes sense for existing homes. The ICC-ES evaluation report (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) confirms code compliance over existing roofs, so your installer can often complete the job faster and at lower cost than tear-off-and-replace methods.

What's the real lifespan of a metal roof, and how long is the warranty?

Interlock roofs carry the Guardian Warranty: a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty is also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion—a huge resale advantage. In practice, aluminum roofs installed correctly last 50-70+ years with minimal degradation. Manufactured since 1998 and installed on homes from coastal salt-air regions to Antarctica, Interlock's real-world track record shows panels holding up through thousands of freeze-thaw cycles, heavy rain (Juneau Town averages 822 mm annually), and extreme weather. This is the last roof you'll buy for your home, and your buyer will inherit decades of remaining life.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no annual inspections, no coating reapplications, no shingle repairs. Your roof needs a gutter cleaning in fall and spring (standard for any roof) and a rinse if debris accumulates, but the aluminum itself never needs treatment. Asphalt requires inspections every 3-5 years, periodic sealing, and fastener replacement as they back out; wood shakes need annual cleaning to prevent rot and moss growth; tile requires periodic mortar repointing. Interlock's non-combustible aluminum and durable Alunar finish withstand Juneau Town's 822 mm rain and 88 cm snow without degrading, and CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance costs over the roof's life. You'll spend almost nothing on upkeep, freeing money for other home priorities.

Will a metal roof help reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing attic temperature and cooling demand in warm months. While Juneau Town averages about 3128 sunshine hours per year (less than sunbelt climates), summer cooling savings still add up over decades, and the reflective benefit also reduces thermal stress on your roof. Cool Roof Rating Council certification means the coating won't degrade, so reflectance remains high for the full 30-year coating warranty. Combined with metal's non-combustible Class A fire rating and its role in long-term energy efficiency, these colors pay for themselves through lower utility bills—and they look beautiful doing it.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost when you factor in the whole lifetime?

Yes, when you compare total cost over time. Asphalt shingles need replacement every 15-25 years, costing you two to three full roof jobs over 50 years plus ongoing maintenance, repairs, and ice-dam damage. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty and 50-year transferable term mean you pay once and your home is covered for life—no more roof bills. Factor in energy savings from reflective coatings, zero maintenance, no insurance hail deductibles on Class 4 rated panels, and the resale value boost from a roof that outlasts the mortgage, and metal's higher initial price becomes irrelevant. You're not choosing between roofs; you're choosing between one lifetime roof now or three asphalt roofs later. For a Juneau Town home facing 82 cm snow, 822 mm rain, and 79 freeze-thaw days annually, durability isn't luxury—it's economical.
