Review: September 27, 2023 Completion: August 29, 2023

It's too early to tell. The roof looks good and has held up against rain for one month. Scheduling the project was very challenging. It took lots of pushing and back and forth to establish a two week window, months out, for the installation. It took from October until August the next year from start to finish. This most likely wouldn't be an issue for most people, but my roof was already leaking and my work schedule is abnormal. The installation team was excellent. Nice people, clear interactions and expectations.

Review: May 9, 2023 Completion: March 24, 2023

They can improve their communication after signing the contract with a salesperson. There were a few months where I didn't have a direct contact to check in for materials during the timeframe of the project because I had a couple of projects going on at the same time with the solar panels being installed. It all worked out, but I think that would be an area to improve in. It looks beautiful, and I love it!

Review: March 21, 2022 Completion: February 14, 2022

Better communication around delays in start date. I would have been find with delays if they were transparent and kept to date as we passed what we were told multiple times.

Review: March 11, 2022 Completion: February 14, 2022

They could improve on communication, getting back to me. I got mixed messages with them about installation dates. At one time they were supposed to show up on a Tuesday, then said Wednesday, then it was 3 weeks after that when they showed up. There is horrible communication between the installation people, that call to let you know, and the regional installation manager. He told me I lied, that they weren't supposed to be there that day, so I called corporate, and they said yes, they were. Then they said it would be the next day. I love my roof. Dealing with them was kinda hard.

Review: February 12, 2018 Completion: February 3, 2018

That is only based on the fact that they misled me with the project date. They could have improved on their communication with the customer and given a realistic starting date. They used weather related issues for the reason for the delays and there were no weather issues in our area, that is for sure. One of the reasons why I agreed to the price was because of the timeframe that they told me that they could have the job finished in. If I knew that the job wasn't going to be done until February, I would have got other quotes from other companies. I agreed to the price because of the timeframe that they said that they could finish the project in.

Really nothing that I can think of. They did a great job installing my roof. So very happy with the roof and the way it looks. I get a lot of comments. All good. Thank You Steve Doine

Review: May 17, 2017 Completion: July 29, 2016

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Brewer’s Hill

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Brewer’s Hill, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Brewer’s Hill.

Will a metal roof hold up through Wisconsin winters with all that freeze-thaw cycling?

Yes — aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens when exposed to freeze-thaw stress, unlike asphalt or wood that crack and curl. Brewer's Hill averages about 79 freeze-thaw days per year, where temperature swings are hardest on brittle materials. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy is naturally ductile, flexing through those temperature shifts without permanent damage. The Alunar coating (warranted 30 years against chalking) adds another protective layer, so your roof stays intact through decades of Wisconsin's harshest seasonal transitions.

How does an Interlock metal roof handle heavy snow loads and ice dams?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because their smooth, hard surface prevents ice from bonding and allows snow to slide off naturally — especially important in Brewer's Hill, which gets about 88 cm of snow yearly. The four-way interlocking panel system keeps snow that does accumulate from entering seams. If you want snow retention for safety, Interlock's optional snow guards install easily without the structural reinforcement that would be needed for slate or concrete tile, letting you choose whether snow stays or slides.

Can a metal roof withstand the wind gusts that hit Brewer's Hill?

The warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Brewer's Hill's typical gusts reach about 96 km/h (60 mph), so you're well within the safety margin. The four-way interlocking system locks panels together in all directions, preventing uplift even during sustained wind events. That engineering is why Interlock's design holds an ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation for IBC/IRC code compliance — your roof won't lift or separate when Wisconsin storms hit hardest.

Why is aluminum roofing better than steel for wet Wisconsin winters?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and creates rust. Instead, aluminum forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, which is why Interlock's panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds 30-year durability against chalking and fading, giving you corrosion protection at multiple levels. In a climate with 822 mm of annual rain, that dual-layer defense means your roof resists moisture damage that would compromise steel or eat through asphalt shingles over time.

Does a metal tile roof need reinforced framing like real slate or clay tile?

No — Interlock's Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed. You can install it directly over most existing roofs, saving thousands in framing work. The Standing Seam and Shake profiles are even lighter at 0.41–0.58 lb/sq ft. This lightweight advantage means retrofitting a Milwaukee County home becomes a straightforward installation without the engineering or construction costs that traditional tile demands, plus you save the weight-bearing strain on your home's structure over decades.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover hail damage to a metal roof?

Interlock's UL 2218 Class 4 rating — the highest impact classification available — means your roof handles hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 rated roofs because the risk of damage is so low. With that documentation in hand, contact your agent about potential premium reductions or increased coverage limits. The warranty itself covers perforation from hail, so you have protection both ways: through your policy and through Interlock's Guardian warranty, giving you confidence during Brewer's Hill's severe weather season.

Can a metal roof actually reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance (measured for aged Copper Penny), reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. The thermal emissivity rating of 0.84 means the roof sheds absorbed heat effectively. Brewer's Hill receives about 3128 sunshine hours per year — enough to make that reflectance meaningful over a full summer. You won't eliminate air conditioning costs in Wisconsin's moderate climate, but the Cool Roof Rating Council certification shows these panels reduce the heat burden your cooling system must handle compared to dark asphalt.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing asphalt shingles?

Installation timeline depends on roof size and weather, but because Interlock panels install over most existing roofs — no costly tear-off required — the labor phase is typically faster than asphalt replacement. You avoid the landfill waste and disruption of stripping old shingles. Interlock Metal Roofing has served the region since 2001, so your local installer understands Milwaukee County's seasonal weather windows. Discuss your specific roof structure during the quote; the lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means most homes qualify for direct overlay installation, keeping your project on schedule and budget.

What maintenance does an Interlock metal roof actually need?

Aluminum requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile. There's no moss growth, no wood rot, no concrete cracking from freeze-thaw cycles — all common problems in Brewer's Hill's 79 annual freeze-thaw days and 822 mm of rain. The Alunar finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, so recoating is unnecessary for decades. Occasional gutter cleaning and inspection after severe winds (gusts near 96 km/h) are standard maintenance for any roof. CALGreen verification confirms the reduced maintenance burden, meaning your real costs stay low over the roof's life.

What exactly does the Guardian Warranty cover, and how long does it really last?

The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance — no time caps or percentage deductions. If you sell, it transfers once to the next owner with 50 years of remaining coverage from completion date, adding significant resale appeal. That's essentially two generations of protection. The Alunar coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Combined with aluminum's inherent corrosion immunity, you're buying the last roof you'll install, which makes the upfront cost competitive against replacing asphalt every 15–20 years.
