Not only did a fast and professional job on the roof, but went beyond their job to help me with a few little things, which I greatly appreciated

5/5

Dear Todd,

I just wanted to thank you and Interlock Roofing for the wonderful job Rod and Tarek did on my new roof.  I am so pleased with their work and of course, with the roof itself.  I will be recommending Interlock to everyone I can.  I think it is the best decision I could have made.

I was very impressed with Rod and Tarek.  They were very personable and totally professional.  There were a few hiccups along the way that they handled calmly and well.  One example is that I have a plastic panel roof over my back porch.  They had to remove it to replace the fascia board underneath.  They devised a plan and carried it out.  The roof is back in place as it was and they sealed the opening between it and the house roof so there is no leakage at all.

I asked to keep the old fascia boards that were in not too bad shape and they placed them in my back yard for me, throwing away the really rotten ones.  I had a delivery while they were here and the delivery man just dropped the shed in the garage and left the pallet.  Rod grabbed it and carried it to the guy and told him to take it away.  Then Rod and Tarek moved the shed to a better place for me.

As you can see, they not only did a fast and professional job on the roof, but went beyond their job to help me with a few little things, which I greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for doing such a great job.  I would love to have your job sign on my front yard so that people can see who did my roof and as I said, I will gladly recommend Interlock to any and all

Sincerely,
Donna Williams

We Would Definitely Recommend An Interlock Roof!

To Whom it may concern:

This letter has been a long time in coming.  My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality.  We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby.

Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product.  We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed.  To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather!

Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day.  We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed.  Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

Best regards,

Installation of a new aluminum roof on my existing home

5/5

To whom it may concern.

This is to confirm that I awarded a contract to Interlock Roofing for the installation of a new aluminum roof on my existing home at the above address.  The installation was carried out by BC’s Best Roof and the person responsible for the work was Michael Hayes.

I found that the work that Michael carried out was very professionally done.

Here are some examples for why I think this is the case:

  1. Without being prompted he installed double ridge venting when he realized that the attic was separated in to two sections such that the flow of air would not be able to circulate correctly if a single ridge vent was installed.
  2. He fastened down the skylight windows correctly on finding that they were not properly secured.
  3. He used safety harnesses to ensure his own safety and to prevent unnecessary damage to the roofing or gutters if he was to slip.
  4. The finish in terms of the alignment of the tiles, valleys, ridges and edges was all accurate and of good workmanship.
  5. He replaced weather damaged woodwork in the appropriate places and found all the problem areas without me having to point them out.
  6. The work was conducted promptly and with a pleasent attitude such that he gave me the sense of reliability such that he knew I would not have to supervise the activities at all and still be assured a good job.
  7. The site was left in a clean condition with no hint of the work that carried out. He also secured the roofing material at night under a tarpaulin and did not leave unnecessary clutter around while working.

I appreciate the work done and would recommend Michael for for work of this nature to anyone who wants an expert.

Thank you,

The installers were the BEST!

5/5

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have.

It is refreshing in today’s business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them.

Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated.

The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor.

We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

A Beautiful, Durable Roof and Excellent Service in Nanoose Bay, BC

A Beautiful Roof in Nanoose Bay That Stopped Strangers in Their Tracks

Customer Review (Unedited)

The Story Behind the Roof

Nanoose Bay is one of those rare places where the natural beauty of Vancouver Island meets the daily realities of coastal living. Salt air, Pacific storms, and relentless sun test every structure to its limits. Most roofs here don’t last. They fade, crack, and need replacing every 15–20 years. The average homeowner typically buys three or four roofs in their lifetime.

But this story is different.

When our customer chose a Deep Charcoal Interlock Slate roof, the transformation wasn’t just about durability. It was about permanence—a decision to step off the hamster wheel of constant repairs and replacements.

Why This Roof Stands Out

On Vancouver Island, building codes demand durability against high winds and heavy rain. Our 4-way interlocking design exceeds those standards, locking each panel securely in place. And aluminum—unlike steel—laughs at salt spray from the Strait of Georgia.

The result? A roof that’s immune to rust, ready for solar panels, and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Neighbours noticed. People on the nearby walking trail stopped to take pictures. That’s not just a roof—it’s a landmark.

The Crew That Made It Happen

Antonio and his team worked through punishing summer heat to deliver precision craftsmanship. What impressed the homeowner wasn’t just speed—it was cleanliness. Every nail, every fastener collected. Every evening, the site appeared well-maintained. That’s how trust is built: in the small details most contractors overlook.

Local Connection: Nanoose Bay, BC

Nanoose Bay isn’t just another coastal town. It’s a community that thrives outdoors, from kayaking in the sheltered bay to golfing at Fairwinds. Homes here are built to showcase views of the ocean, Arbutus trees, and Mt. Arrowsmith in the distance.

A roof here isn’t just protection—it’s part of the landscape. And in Deep Charcoal, this Nanoose Bay home now frames the horizon with strength and elegance.

Why Interlock Is the Last Roof You’ll Ever Need

  • Lifetime Warranty: Built to outlast every storm, guaranteed.

  • High-Wind Resistance: 4-way interlocking design engineered for coastal storms.

  • Energy Efficiency: Keeps homes cooler in summer, warmer in winter.

  • ROI of 85.9%: According to Remodeling Magazine, metal roofing pays back more than almost any other exterior upgrade.

  • Environmental Impact: Helps reduce 11 million tons of asphalt shingles from landfills each year.

  • Ocean-Proof: Aluminum shingles resist salt corrosion—perfect for Nanoose Bay living.

Final Thought

If you’re in Nanoose Bay and you’ve ever wondered whether a roof could be both practical and beautiful, this project answers the question.

Our customer didn’t just buy a roof. They invested in peace of mind, permanence, and pride of ownership.

And judging by the neighbours (and hikers on the public trail) stopping to take pictures… It’s a decision that’s inspiring the whole community.

Top 10 Roofing FAQs for Nanoose Bay, BC Homeowners

In Nanoose Bay, your roof faces constant exposure to salt air off the Strait of Georgia, strong Pacific storms, and harsh freeze-thaw cycles. These conditions dramatically shorten the lifespan of conventional asphalt shingles—12–15 years at best here, compared to 20–25 inland.

The proven solution is aluminum roofing, specifically the Interlock Lifetime Roofing System installed by Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. Unlike steel, aluminum will not rust, even when exposed to salt spray. It resists high winds, reflects UV rays, and stands up to the punishing storms we see on Vancouver Island.

While asphalt may appear less expensive upfront, homeowners often end up buying three or four asphalt roofs in their lifetime. By contrast, Interlock aluminum roofing is a one-time investment, backed by a lifetime, transferable warranty. For Nanoose Bay’s unique climate, it’s the best long-term roofing choice you can make.

Nanoose Bay homeowners face two major risks: coastal storms in winter and wildfire threats in summer. With dense forested areas, Arbutus groves, and dry summer conditions, embers from wildfires can travel long distances and ignite vulnerable roofs.

The best fire-resistant roofing material for Nanoose Bay is aluminum—specifically the Interlock Lifetime Roofing System installed by Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. Our aluminum shingles when installed with the proper underlayment are rated Class A for fire resistance, the highest standard in North America. That means they won’t ignite, warp, or fuel a fire when exposed to windblown embers or direct flame contact.

By comparison, asphalt shingles can burn, and cedar shakes are among the most combustible materials on Vancouver Island homes. Even “fire-rated” asphalt products degrade quickly in Nanoose Bay’s salty, stormy environment, leaving homeowners exposed.

Aluminum not only resists fire, it also provides decades of storm protection, energy efficiency, and lifetime durability. For Nanoose Bay residents, it’s the only roofing choice that addresses both wildfire safety and coastal resilience in one permanent system.

The optimal window is late May through early October, when weather is stable and daylight is long. This allows Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. crews to complete installations without rain delays and ensures roofing materials perform properly during installation.

Summer is peak season, so book well in advance. Early fall often provides excellent conditions with cooler temperatures, making it a sweet spot for scheduling.

Winter replacements are discouraged unless it’s an emergency—storms and shorter days make work unpredictable. For best results, plan your project 3–6 months in advance.

Yes. The Vancouver Island Regional District (VIRD) requires permits for roof replacements that involve material upgrades, ventilation changes, or insulation improvements. Switching from asphalt shingles to the Interlock Lifetime Roofing System qualifies.

Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. handles the entire permit process on your behalf. This includes applications, inspections, and ensuring compliance with BC Building Code requirements for wind resistance, moisture protection, and ventilation.

Having a contractor who manages this paperwork ensures your home is fully code-compliant and that your insurance coverage remains valid.

Roofing in a coastal climate is different. You need a company with deep local experience, proven workmanship, and specialized knowledge of salt air challenges. Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. has been serving Vancouver Island for decades, with hundreds of successful installations in Nanoose Bay and surrounding communities.

When evaluating contractors, look for:

  • Local references within 20 km.
  • Proof of WorkSafeBC coverage and liability insurance.
  • Specialization in aluminum roofing.

Beware of “storm-chaser” contractors offering low bids. They rarely understand Nanoose Bay’s coastal conditions and may cut corners on ventilation and fastening—critical details Interlock has mastered over decades.

Insurance providers reward homeowners who invest in permanent, storm-resistant roofs. Asphalt shingles often see higher premiums due to their vulnerability. By contrast, Interlock Lifetime Roofing is fire-resistant, impact-resistant, and engineered for winds up to 160 km/h, making it more insurable.

Storm damage is typically covered, but normal wear and tear or salt corrosion on non-aluminum systems may be excluded. Having a documented installation by Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd., with full permits and warranties, strengthens your insurance claims and may even lower your annual costs.

  • Asphalt shingles: 12–15 years in coastal BC.
  • High-end shingles: 15–20 years, if well maintained.
  • Interlock Lifetime Roofing (aluminum): 50+ years, with a true lifetime, transferable warranty.

Aluminum is the only roofing material that truly resists Nanoose Bay’s salt air and storm cycles. Installed by Interlock, it becomes the last roof you’ll ever need.

Ventilation is critical in our damp, coastal environment. Poor attic airflow leads to condensation, mold, and reduced roof lifespan.

Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd. inspects and upgrades ventilation with every installation. Our systems meet or exceed BC Building Code requirements, balancing intake and exhaust so your attic stays dry year-round.

Proper ventilation also improves indoor comfort, prevents ice dams, and helps maximize energy savings. If your current roof lacks proper venting, it’s the right time to address it during replacement.

Yes—especially in areas that see frequent freeze-thaw cycles. Snow melts during mild winter days, then refreezes at night, forcing water back under shingles. This leads to leaks and hidden structural damage.

The Interlock Lifetime Roofing System naturally reduces ice dam risk thanks to its smooth interlocking design and advanced underlayment protection. When paired with proper ventilation and insulation, ice dams are virtually eliminated.

Most asphalt warranties look appealing—“30 years,” “lifetime”—but fine print often excludes coastal installations. Coverage is typically prorated and weakens after 10–15 years.

Interlock Lifetime Roofing, by contrast, carries a true lifetime, transferable warranty that fully applies to coastal BC. Installed by Interlock Metal Roofing (BC) Ltd., the warranty protects against material defects, wind uplift, and corrosion—critical for Nanoose Bay homeowners.

The result: complete peace of mind, backed by a contractor who’s been here for decades and will be here for decades more.

Our son, who builds high end homes on Vancouver Island, had seen Interlock roofs in the course of his work and recommended that we look into this company when the time came to replace our aging roof

5/5

Our son, who builds high end homes on Vancouver Island, had seen Interlock roofs in the course of his work and recommended that we look into this company when the time came to replace our aging roof. We were impressed with the immediate response we got from the company when contacted and the speed with which the project came to life. The reps who visited our home showed us all of the various colours and styles available, explained the installation process, and were very personable as well as totally professional.

Installation took place just before Christmas which is not usually considered roofing weather, but since the old roof remained in place work moved along at a good pace and our hard working team was done in just over three days. Absolutely no mess was created. Now we are the envy of the neighbourhood and we never have to think about roofing again. When we do have to sell (and we hope this is a long ways down life’s road) the transferable warranty will certainly be working for us. Thanks, Interlock!

Here are the before and after. Fabulous, no? We still can’t look directly at it. Sooooo beautiful!
