What our customers are saying:
Critical: Responsiveness Our original roof that was installed in 2011 is fine, but, like other reviewers, it has been impossible to get a quote for a roof on an addition we are planning. The contractor has tried multiple times to get a quote and was repeatedly told they would relay to request. When he got nowhere, I called and was told Jennifer, the installation coordinator, was out sick, but they would send her an email. They agreed to cc me on the email, but they never did. I just tried calling and had to leave a voice message. Does your company want more business or not?! Service: Roof installation --- Response from the owner: Hi Barbara, I understand Mike Rasmussen has been in touch with your husband and your contractor regarding your project, and it’s in the works. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns. Not to many companies care about their customer after the job is done Interlock is different they respond right away. Service: Roof installation
I was referred to Interlock Roofing from my Dad, who has had an Interlock Roof since 1999. It looks as good as the day it was installed. I am hopeful my roof will last with similar results. My salesperson, David and my installations coordinator, Jennifer, were prompt, professional, and very helpful.
Dear Mr. Michael Baldassari, My wife and I would like to express our satisfaction with your metal roof installation on our house. The roof was installed in late November of 2009, only a few days before we received our first major snow fall. Your roofing crew was extremely professional and their work exceeded our expectations. They installed our roof in an efficient and careful manner; working tirelessly for two and a half days. At completion, they did a fantastic job of cleaning up the yard around the house. In particular, we have really appreciated one of the advantages that your ">metal roof offers. Snow easily slides off and does not build up a snow load. After the second snow fall, I gave away my snow rake knowing that I would never again have to get on an extension ladder to clear a two and a half story roof. Due to the size of our roof, in the past, this task has taken several hours and has been somewhat hazardous. I certainly won't miss this "pleasurable task" of home ownership. Last week on Thursday evening, the 25th of February, we had rain, snow and wind gusts up to 68 miles per hour for several hours. The roof received punishing forces from the wind as well as flying debris from tree branches and pine cones. We were a little concerned that we would see roof damage the next morning. However, upon inspection, the roof remained intact. The resistance to such forces demonstrates how well the metal ">roof has been installed and the topnotch quality of the metal roofing material itself. Knowing that we will never have to replace our roof again has convinced us more than ever that we made a wise investment. The aesthetics of the black ">metal roof has added a richness and quality finish to our home which we will enjoy for many years to come.
No more problems with moss and lichens, like I had with the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">asphalt shingles. I am extremely happy with my new Interlock Roofing System and to think it has a lifetime warranty. There have been several rainstorms that last couple of weeks and to me the metal roof had added no additional noise at all. The flat roof is also a welcomed addition. The material quality is tip-notch throughout. A flat roof will normally wear out first; however, this also comes with a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. I have been impressed with Interlock from my first awareness at the local home show. I also did investigation through the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Better Business Bureau. During all interaction with Interlock, employees have been professional and courteous. The sales presentations were very informative. I was also able to visit half dozen houses locally that had had Interlock Roofing Systems installed. The benefits of the Interlock roof over an asphalt roof are numerous. In these days of rising energy costs and the high price of fuel, the expected energy savings are welcome. I will also be able to take advantage of the energy credit on my taxes this year. The fact that the ">roofing material deflects the heat versus absorbing it will make the house cooler during the summer months. Working with the installation team of Finn and Alex was a delight. The attention they gave to making sure things were done right was greatly appreciated. From the moment they arrived in the morning, till they went home at night, they were constantly working. During the installation period, there were several rainstorms. Alex and Finn always made sure they had things buttoned up before the storm started. We were lucky enough to get a couple of good days and they took advantage of them by working between 10 and 11 hours those days. If I saw anything that I did not like, it was quickly addressed or the explanation was given why it had to be done that way. The answer was always acceptable to me. They took the time to help me understand the various installation tasks. The longevity of Finn and Alex’s careers with Interlock are testimony to Interlock as a company, their product knowledge and experience levels, and work quality. I would highly recommend Interlock Industries roofs to others.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Linwood
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Linwood, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Linwood.
How does a metal roof handle Linwood's annual snowfall and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofs shed snow effectively because aluminum panels have a smooth, slippery surface that prevents snow from bonding and accumulating like it does on asphalt. Linwood receives about 76 cm of snow yearly and experiences roughly 83 freeze-thaw days annually—conditions that crack and curl asphalt shingles over time. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and non-corrosive 3105-H24 aluminum alloy maintain structural integrity through repeated thawing and refreezing without weakening. The lightweight design also means no added structural stress from snow load, and optional snow guards can be installed for safety on steeper pitches.
Why doesn't freeze-thaw weather in Massachusetts degrade an aluminum metal roof?
Freeze-thaw durability hinges on material chemistry: aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron, and it naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that resists degradation even when scratched. With 83 freeze-thaw cycles per year in Linwood, wood-based and steel roofs fail because water enters micro-cracks, freezes, expands, and splits the material further. Interlock aluminum panels withstand this cycle indefinitely because the metal itself is chemically inert to moisture. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating—warranted 30 years against fading and chalk—adds a secondary moisture barrier, keeping water out of any microscopic seams.
Can an aluminum roof rust in New England's wet climate?
No—aluminum cannot rust because rust requires iron, which aluminum roofing does not contain. Linwood averages about 1,198 mm of annual rainfall, yet Interlock panels manufactured since 1998 from roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) have proven durable from coastal salt-air environments to an Antarctic research station. When scratched, aluminum's oxide layer self-heals within hours, creating a new protective barrier. Steel roofing corrodes visibly in high-moisture climates; aluminum actually improves with age as the oxide thickens. The two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating provides an additional 30-year warranty against corrosion, ensuring decades of protection in New England's rainy weather.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed because Interlock's aluminum panels weigh about 0.41 to 0.59 pounds per square foot—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes in Linwood can support asphalt shingles, which are heavier than metal, so upgrading to metal actually reduces load. This feather-light weight means Interlock installs directly over your existing roof in most cases, saving thousands in tear-off and disposal costs. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms installation over existing structures is code-compliant per the current IBC and IRC. Your foundation, rafters, and trusses face no additional stress whatsoever.
Will an aluminum metal roof stay secure in Linwood's wind and gust events?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and 120 mph wind warranty provide security well above Linwood's weather profile, where typical wind gusts reach about 118 km/h (73 mph). The mechanical four-way lock—not fasteners alone—distributes wind load across multiple panels, creating a unified surface that resists uplift and lateral stress. Each panel interlocks on all four edges, so wind cannot peel up a single sheet. When installed to specification, the system is warranted against wind up to 120 mph (193 km/h), giving you a safety margin of roughly 60% above the strongest local gusts you're likely to encounter.
Will hail damage my metal roof, and can I get an insurance discount?
Interlock panels are engineered to withstand extreme hail impact: they carry a UL 2218 Class 4 rating—the highest impact classification available—and the Guardian warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In real-world testing, the roofing-grade aluminum alloy absorbs impact energy without cracking or developing stress fractures that grow over time. Many insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 rated roofs because they file fewer claims. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification; some policies provide 10–20% reductions. Linwood's climate includes thunderstorm potential, so this protection translates to tangible savings and peace of mind.
How long does an Interlock metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?
Interlock panels last 50+ years or longer; the Guardian lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty covers the original owner indefinitely against rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. If you sell your home, the warranty transfers once—giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from installation completion. This structure recognizes that aluminum doesn't degrade with age; instead, the oxide layer thickens and strengthens. Your roof won't need replacement within a typical ownership timeline, making it the last roof you'll buy. This contrasts sharply with asphalt shingles (15–20 year lifespan) that require tear-off and landfill disposal every generation.
What is the installation timeline, and can you install metal roofing over my existing roof?
Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., serving this region since 1999, typically completes residential installations in 1–3 days, depending on roof size and pitch. Because aluminum panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 pounds per square foot, installation over your existing roof is possible in most cases, eliminating costly tear-off and disposal. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms this approach meets current building code. The lightweight design means faster labor, simpler logistics, and less disruption to your property. Your local installer can inspect your roof structure during a free estimate and confirm whether an overlay is appropriate for your home. Current financing options include no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, making the upgrade accessible.
Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes—Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, whereas asphalt shingles end up in landfills for decades. Linwood generates roof waste every 15–20 years when asphalt fails; multiply that across the city's homes, and the landfill impact is enormous. Aluminum's non-corrosive 3105-H24 alloy means your roof won't degrade into a disposal problem—it simply endures. When eventual replacement occurs (far in the future), the material retains its value and composition, entering recycling streams intact. You'll install one roof in your lifetime; previous owners installed multiple asphalt roofs, each requiring tear-off labor, transportation, and landfill space. Choosing metal closes that waste loop and reduces your home's environmental footprint for decades.
With Linwood's 1,200 mm of annual rainfall, how does a metal roof prevent leaks?
The four-way interlocking panel design eliminates exposed fasteners and sheds water aggressively downslope—water cannot pool or find its way into seams. Linwood averages about 1,198 mm of annual rainfall, a wet climate where sealing integrity matters. Interlock panels interlock on all four edges, creating overlaps that direct water outward and downward. Each fastener point is sealed during installation, and the aluminum surface itself is non-porous. Unlike asphalt (which absorbs moisture into its substrate), aluminum sheds water instantly. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 alloy and two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating provide a dual moisture barrier. Properly installed per ESR-1790, the system has proven leak-free in coastal and heavy-rain environments worldwide.
