Critical: Responsiveness Our original roof that was installed in 2011 is fine, but, like other reviewers, it has been impossible to get a quote for a roof on an addition we are planning. The contractor has tried multiple times to get a quote and was repeatedly told they would relay to request. When he got nowhere, I called and was told Jennifer, the installation coordinator, was out sick, but they would send her an email. They agreed to cc me on the email, but they never did. I just tried calling and had to leave a voice message. Does your company want more business or not?! Service: Roof installation --- Response from the owner: Hi Barbara, I understand Mike Rasmussen has been in touch with your husband and your contractor regarding your project, and it’s in the works. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns. Not to many companies care about their customer after the job is done Interlock is different they respond right away. Service: Roof installation
I was referred to Interlock Roofing from my Dad, who has had an Interlock Roof since 1999. It looks as good as the day it was installed. I am hopeful my roof will last with similar results. My salesperson, David and my installations coordinator, Jennifer, were prompt, professional, and very helpful.
Dear Mr. Michael Baldassari, My wife and I would like to express our satisfaction with your metal roof installation on our house. The roof was installed in late November of 2009, only a few days before we received our first major snow fall. Your roofing crew was extremely professional and their work exceeded our expectations. They installed our roof in an efficient and careful manner; working tirelessly for two and a half days. At completion, they did a fantastic job of cleaning up the yard around the house. In particular, we have really appreciated one of the advantages that your ">metal roof offers. Snow easily slides off and does not build up a snow load. After the second snow fall, I gave away my snow rake knowing that I would never again have to get on an extension ladder to clear a two and a half story roof. Due to the size of our roof, in the past, this task has taken several hours and has been somewhat hazardous. I certainly won't miss this "pleasurable task" of home ownership. Last week on Thursday evening, the 25th of February, we had rain, snow and wind gusts up to 68 miles per hour for several hours. The roof received punishing forces from the wind as well as flying debris from tree branches and pine cones. We were a little concerned that we would see roof damage the next morning. However, upon inspection, the roof remained intact. The resistance to such forces demonstrates how well the metal ">roof has been installed and the topnotch quality of the metal roofing material itself. Knowing that we will never have to replace our roof again has convinced us more than ever that we made a wise investment. The aesthetics of the black ">metal roof has added a richness and quality finish to our home which we will enjoy for many years to come.
No more problems with moss and lichens, like I had with the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">asphalt shingles. I am extremely happy with my new Interlock Roofing System and to think it has a lifetime warranty. There have been several rainstorms that last couple of weeks and to me the metal roof had added no additional noise at all. The flat roof is also a welcomed addition. The material quality is tip-notch throughout. A flat roof will normally wear out first; however, this also comes with a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. I have been impressed with Interlock from my first awareness at the local home show. I also did investigation through the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Better Business Bureau. During all interaction with Interlock, employees have been professional and courteous. The sales presentations were very informative. I was also able to visit half dozen houses locally that had had Interlock Roofing Systems installed. The benefits of the Interlock roof over an asphalt roof are numerous. In these days of rising energy costs and the high price of fuel, the expected energy savings are welcome. I will also be able to take advantage of the energy credit on my taxes this year. The fact that the ">roofing material deflects the heat versus absorbing it will make the house cooler during the summer months. Working with the installation team of Finn and Alex was a delight. The attention they gave to making sure things were done right was greatly appreciated. From the moment they arrived in the morning, till they went home at night, they were constantly working. During the installation period, there were several rainstorms. Alex and Finn always made sure they had things buttoned up before the storm started. We were lucky enough to get a couple of good days and they took advantage of them by working between 10 and 11 hours those days. If I saw anything that I did not like, it was quickly addressed or the explanation was given why it had to be done that way. The answer was always acceptable to me. They took the time to help me understand the various installation tasks. The longevity of Finn and Alex’s careers with Interlock are testimony to Interlock as a company, their product knowledge and experience levels, and work quality. I would highly recommend Interlock Industries roofs to others.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Uxbridge
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Uxbridge.
Does metal roofing handle Uxbridge's snow and ice buildup better than asphalt?
Metal roofing's smooth, interlocking panels shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt, reducing ice dam formation. Uxbridge receives about 76 cm of snow annually with roughly 83 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that stress asphalt through repeated expansion and contraction. Aluminum's non-porous surface prevents water absorption, so melting snow doesn't seep into the deck and refreeze underneath. Optional snow guards can be installed if you want to control avalanche-style slides, but the real advantage here is that metal won't degrade from the constant freeze-thaw stress that ages asphalt roofs faster.
How does aluminum roofing perform with Uxbridge's freeze-thaw cycling?
Aluminum inherently resists freeze-thaw damage because it doesn't absorb moisture the way asphalt or wood composites do. With about 83 freeze-thaw days per year in this area, material durability is critical. Asphalt and wood shingles crack and curl as trapped water expands when frozen; aluminum panels remain dimensionally stable because they're non-porous. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both sides of each panel is warrantied 30 years against cracking and chalking per ASTM D4214, and the four-way interlock design prevents water from pooling at seams. This is why metal roofing often outlasts multiple asphalt cycles in freeze-thaw regions.
Can aluminum roofing rust, and is that a concern in a New England climate?
No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopic oxide layer that protects the metal underneath, and this layer self-heals when scratched. This is a fundamental material advantage over steel roofing, which will rust if the protective coating is breached. Uxbridge's 1198 mm annual rainfall and moderate salt exposure (if you're near any inland salt-treated roads) won't trigger corrosion in aluminum. The Alunar coating applied to both sides of the panel provides an additional 30-year warranty against coating failure, giving you two layers of protection: the aluminum's natural oxide and the PVDF fluorocarbon finish.
Will a metal roof stay secure in Uxbridge's wind gusts and storms?
Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h). Uxbridge experiences typical daily-max winds around 19 km/h with gusts reaching 118 km/h—well within that rating. The interlocking design means each panel grips its neighbors on all four sides, so wind uplift is distributed across the entire roof system rather than stressing individual fasteners. When installed to specification over a solid deck with proper underlayment, this creates a unified surface that performs like a single membrane. Asphalt shingles rely on adhesive and fasteners to resist the same wind forces; metal's mechanical interlock is why insurance companies often recognize it as a more wind-resistant choice.
What's the hail rating on metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance premiums?
Interlock metal roofing carries the highest available hail rating: UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches—far larger than typical New England hail events. Many insurance companies recognize Class 4 rated roofing and offer discounts because claims for impact damage are dramatically lower. With annual rainfall around 1198 mm in this region and unpredictable spring and summer storms, this durability translates directly to fewer insurance claims and potential savings over the life of the roof. You'll want to contact your insurer about specific discounts available in your Uxbridge zip code, but metal's impact rating gives you documentation to present.
Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?
No. Interlock metal roofing is extraordinarily light—the Slate profile installs at roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile profile at 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than traditional concrete or clay tile. Most existing homes can support metal roofing without any structural reinforcement. This is a genuine advantage in older Uxbridge homes where reinforcing the frame would be expensive. Asphalt is comparatively heavy, and its weight compounds the snow load problem when you receive 76 cm of snow annually. Metal's lightness means less strain on rafters during heavy wet snow, which reduces the risk of structural stress during those frequent winter weather cycles.
How much maintenance does metal roofing require compared to asphalt or cedar?
Metal roofing requires minimal maintenance. Asphalt shingles need regular inspections for deterioration, especially after Uxbridge's 83 annual freeze-thaw cycles, and typically require replacement every 15-25 years. Cedar shakes demand periodic treatment to prevent rot and insect damage. Metal panels, by contrast, are non-combustible aluminum with a Class A fire rating available, and the ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 documentation notes that metal roofing qualifies for reduced maintenance under CALGreen building standards. You may occasionally rinse debris from gutters or inspect flashings, but the roof itself won't deteriorate, crack, curl, or absorb moisture. The Alunar coating is warrantied 30 years against chalking and fading—no re-coating required.
What warranty comes with a metal roof, and how long will it actually last?
Interlock provides The Guardian warranty: a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. This means if you sell your Uxbridge home in 15 years, the buyer has 35 years remaining. Most homeowners view this as their last roof—asphalt requires replacement every 15-25 years, but metal roofing installed today will likely outlast the mortgage. Combined with the 30-year Alunar coating warranty and the panel's resistance to freeze-thaw cycling, you're protecting your investment across multiple decades.
Is metal roofing worth the higher upfront cost in Uxbridge?
Metal roofing costs more upfront than asphalt but becomes the smarter long-term investment. Asphalt roofs in Uxbridge typically last 15-25 years given the 1198 mm annual rainfall and 83 freeze-thaw days per year; metal roofing lasts decades longer. When you factor in replacement labor, disposal costs, and the inevitable multiple cycles of asphalt over 50 years, metal's upfront premium is recovered. Currently, there's a financing option available: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. The transferable 50-year warranty and minimal maintenance costs mean you're not just buying a roof—you're eliminating the asphalt replacement treadmill. Most homeowners recoup the difference in avoided tear-off and replacement costs alone.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Uxbridge, and how experienced are they?
Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has been serving this region since 1999—25+ years of experience installing metal roofing across Worcester County and beyond. They understand Uxbridge's specific climate challenges: heavy snow loading, frequent freeze-thaw stress, and rainfall patterns that demand reliable flashing and drainage. The company manufactures panels in Delta, BC, and has installed roofing in environments from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, so your local New England weather is well within their expertise. When you call for an estimate, you're working with an installer who knows the regional building codes, local contractor relationships, and how to spec the right profile and underlayment for your home's exposure and roof pitch.
