Review: April 22, 2008 Completion: April 13, 2008

Dear Sirs, To quote from T. S. Eliot, “Home is where one starts from.” And our home needed a kick to start it again! We built our home 12 years ago, but our roof was already showing real signs that we needed to replace it, as the shingles where curling, slipping out of place and although not causing leaks at the time it surely would have. The way our home is situated on our lot, it gets total New England weather. There is also “a lot” of roof in the front, so we needed it to look incredible as well. We had looked into Interlock a year prior, but with children and careers, sometimes if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! But a year later we knew that our roof was the first project on our list to get attention. We got in touch with Interlock, and that is the best decision we have made! Our initial visit with Dan was pleasant, not pressure packed to purchase on the spot, as we had done our research. The cost to re-roof with asphalt shingles at this time, plus the possibility of having to do another 12-15 years versus the price presented to us go with Interlock AND NEVER ROOF AGAIN was well within our budget! We decided that meeting to go with Interlock. We received updates on our order process at each step, from the order being received to when the order was being shipped. The kept us informed and provided excellent customer service. Our roofing system went on ahead of schedule and the installers were excellent! Nick and Serge were pleasant, extremely hard workers and cleaned up the site each night! They were a pleasure to have around! Our home is beautiful, again! We have a company to back up our roofing system and feel that going with Interlock was the best decision we have made! Thank you so much for having such quality employees, for your communication and for brining peace of mind to us!

This letter is written to inform you of my recent installation experience with your company. As a former Regional Sales Manager for 22 years in the Northeast US, I believe I can speak from experience when it pertains to customer service, customer relations and more importantly, customer satisfaction. That being said, I offer the following comments for your review: Interlock Industries employee, Vitale Sukhovtsev, was my main contact and installer throughout the entire roofing process. Although Mr. Sukhovtsev is deaf, we established an immediate rapport. Communication between us was never an issue. I found Mr. Sukhovtsev’s work ethic, professionalism and craftsmanship to be exemplary. He was prompt, courteous and meticulous in his craft. It was impressive to see someone who took such pride in his vocation. He is a great ambassador for your company and he has made my experience with Interlock Industries a very positive one. In closing, based upon the installation process, I look forward to a high performing and maintenance free roof. Should you have any questions regarding the aforementioned, please feel free to contact me directly at home (978) xxx-xxxx.

Review: March 9, 2017 Completion: November 14, 2016

The experience with the entire Interlock team was a pleasure. First having Mike come out to give an estimate and his patience with making a decision, to scheduling and other matters with Jennifer in the office and finally, Igor and his crew. Igor and his crew worked really hard; their workmanship was more like craftsmanship. They were very respectful and treated our home and property like it was their own. When they completed the job, you did not know they were even there, except for the beautiful new roof. The new roof started earning its keep the day after it was finished due to a bad rainstorm. Throughout this winter, we were amazed that once the snow had fallen off the roof, we were the only home in the neighborhood to have no snow or ice. Our advice to any homeowner is to take the leap and get an Interlock roof, you will not regret it.

Review: April 7, 2006 Completion: March 19, 2006

We have not had one minute of rest since the installation of our Interlock Roof System was finished. Our home is on a busy main road. Friends and people have not stopped complimenting and questioning us about it. The roof is beautiful and eye-popping. On a more practical level, we felt we needed more than what a regular asphalt roof could offer. The back of our house does not get much sun in the winter. This can and does cause snow and ice accumulation problems when the conditions are right. The results are " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams and leaking. The rest of the year, it causes moss and lichen to grow. These issues, combined with the fact that it was time for a new roof, led us to the Interlock system. While it is springtime, we feel confident that our Interlock roof will perform as expected. It is a premium roof that offers much more than good looks.

Review: December 15, 2016 Completion: October 30, 2015

Roof installed in late October of 2015. Start to finish a good experience. We knew going it what to expect for costing and everyone looking at a metal roof should expect high costs, but still gave it a small ding on overall costs :). The lead time to do the work was long but that expectation was clearly set during the contract negotiations and they were within 2 weeks of that date. Jennifer was a big help keeping me informed of scheduling and always responded within a day of any message left, if I didn't get her live on the phone. The crew was really good (Sergi, Dimitry and the guys) and worked 9-5 without missing a beat after a long daily commute to get to our house.. Considering all the nails, shingles and small metal pieces associated with this installation my yard was spotless. Even after they completed my walk around yielded about a dozen small pieces buried under leaves and to be expected.. Very pleased with that.. So far we're very happy with the experience. The roof looks amazing and we cannot wait for the snow to arrive. Description of work: removed 2 layers of shingles, replaced some damaged plywood after removal, complete roof coverage with ice & water barrier along with a 2nd protective layer then the metal roofing. We had a good sized roof, about 2800 sq. feet with alot of angles and dormers.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Salisbury

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Salisbury, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Salisbury.

How does a metal roof handle Salisbury's snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofs shed snow more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth surface and thermal properties resist ice damming — the smooth Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles are especially effective in climates with about 116 cm of annual snow. The four-way interlocking panels keep water sealed even when freeze-thaw cycles (Salisbury experiences roughly 93 per year) cause materials to expand and contract. Snow guards are available if you want to manage snow slides, but the design itself prevents the ice-dam pooling that damages asphalt shingles over time.

Will a metal roof survive repeated freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens rather than degrades under freeze-thaw stress. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack and curl after absorbing moisture through roughly 93 annual freeze-thaw cycles, aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without absorbing water. The 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy used in every Interlock panel is engineered for this kind of cycling; the metal itself cannot rot or degrade from moisture. Combined with Salisbury's average of about 1025 mm of rain annually, a metal roof's sealed interlocking design stays watertight where traditional materials eventually fail.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a coastal or wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and creates rust. Instead, aluminum develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, getting stronger over time. Interlock's Alunar fluorocarbon coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading) adds a second layer of defense, particularly valuable where Salisbury receives about 1025 mm of rain yearly. The coating is applied to both sides of every panel, delivering extra protection from moisture exposure that corrodes steel roofing. This is why Interlock installations perform reliably from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station.

What's the hail rating on a metal roof, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurance carriers offer discounts for Class 4-rated roofing because the material resists damage that would require claims on asphalt. Contact your insurer directly about premium reductions, but the combination of impact resistance and a 30-year coating warranty means fewer weather-related repairs overall. The four-way interlocking design also distributes impact force across panels rather than concentrating it on a single point.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more initially but eliminates the 20-year replacement cycle asphalt requires — meaning you won't buy another roof after this one. The Guardian Warranty offers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty to the original owner and remains transferable for 50 years from completion, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and curling. When you factor in two or three asphalt replacements (labor, debris removal, landfill costs), plus energy savings from reflective coatings over Salisbury's 3057 annual sunshine hours, the metal roof becomes the lower total-cost choice. Current financing — no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 — removes the upfront barrier entirely.

Does a metal roof need structural reinforcement to my house?

No — aluminum's extraordinary lightweight design eliminates the need for structural upgrades. The Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake at 0.58, and the Mediterranean Tile profile at 0.59 lb/sq ft — about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means the Tile profile can install directly over most existing roofs without reinforcement, reducing labor costs and construction time. Comparison: traditional tile weighs roughly 12–15 lb/sq ft. The light weight also reduces stress on fasteners and interlocking connections during wind gusts (Salisbury experiences typical daily-max winds around 17 km/h with gusts to 104 km/h), improving long-term durability of the attachment system.

How well does a metal roof hold up in New England wind gusts?

The Guardian Warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification — well above Salisbury's typical gust speeds of around 104 km/h. The four-way interlocking panel design distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone, creating a unified membrane-like system. This engineering is verified in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance). Each interlocking seam resists uplift, so even during nor'easters common to Essex County, the roof remains secure. The lightweight aluminum design also reduces the inertial forces that heavy roofs experience in high wind, further improving performance.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in the Salisbury area?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. serves the Salisbury region and has since 1999, bringing more than two decades of cold-climate installation experience across Essex County. The local team understands the specific challenges of Massachusetts weather — about 116 cm of snow annually, roughly 93 freeze-thaw cycles per year, and the moisture management required in a high-rainfall environment (around 1025 mm per year). They're trained on ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance and The Guardian Warranty protocols. Interlock has manufactured panels in Delta, BC since 1998, so installers work with proven products tested from coastal salt-air homes to extreme environments. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation cost.

Is aluminum metal roofing actually recyclable and sustainable?

Yes — approximately 95% of Interlock aluminum roofing is recyclable at end of life, and the material eliminates the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that occurs every 20 years with conventional shingles. Over a 50-year lifespan, a traditional roof generates roughly 3–5 complete replacement cycles; each produces 2–3 tons of landfill waste per 1,000 sq ft. A metal roof generates none. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable without degradation, and scrap roofing commands material value, often offsetting or eliminating disposal costs. CALGreen verification confirms the reduced-maintenance profile. The ESR-1790 evaluation supports durability claims, so the roof's 50-year transferable warranty means fewer environmental impacts across generations — one installation replaces three or four asphalt cycles.

How does a metal roof protect against heavy rain and leaks?

The four-way interlocking panel design creates overlapped seams on all sides, directing water downslope and outward — no water pools or backs up between panels. Salisbury receives about 1025 mm of rain annually, and the sealed interlock system is engineered to handle peak precipitation far exceeding this average. Each panel locks to its neighbors, and the system installs over solid deck with underlayment, providing the same leak protection as asphalt but with superior longevity. Unlike asphalt shingles that split and curl, opening gaps where water infiltrates, aluminum panels maintain their seal for 50+ years. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the water-management design, and The Guardian Warranty covers leakage — giving you confidence that the heavy rain common in New England won't compromise your home.
