What our customers are saying:
I had my roof installed in May 2003. I noticed the coating had some peeling in 2021. I contacted them in the beginning 0f June 2021 and by the end of June they had approved my claim. It took 8 months but they replaced my entire roof with no charge at all to me.
I recently had Interlock Roofing System installed on my house; I was greatly pleased and surprised by the prompt and professional manner in which it was installed. My house, being older, required much work (new plywood panelling, and I requested additional work (new chimney, venting, window, solar tunnel, removal of an old venting window, and removal of a light panel). The roofing system looks great. As my neighbor said. "I never thought I would say this about a roof, but your roof looks gorgeous." I would recommend the Interlock Roofing System to anyone.
No more problems with moss and lichens, like I had with the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">asphalt shingles. I am extremely happy with my new Interlock Roofing System and to think it has a lifetime warranty. There have been several rainstorms that last couple of weeks and to me the metal roof had added no additional noise at all. The flat roof is also a welcomed addition. The material quality is tip-notch throughout. A flat roof will normally wear out first; however, this also comes with a lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty. I have been impressed with Interlock from my first awareness at the local home show. I also did investigation through the " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Better Business Bureau. During all interaction with Interlock, employees have been professional and courteous. The sales presentations were very informative. I was also able to visit half dozen houses locally that had had Interlock Roofing Systems installed. The benefits of the Interlock roof over an asphalt roof are numerous. In these days of rising energy costs and the high price of fuel, the expected energy savings are welcome. I will also be able to take advantage of the energy credit on my taxes this year. The fact that the ">roofing material deflects the heat versus absorbing it will make the house cooler during the summer months. Working with the installation team of Finn and Alex was a delight. The attention they gave to making sure things were done right was greatly appreciated. From the moment they arrived in the morning, till they went home at night, they were constantly working. During the installation period, there were several rainstorms. Alex and Finn always made sure they had things buttoned up before the storm started. We were lucky enough to get a couple of good days and they took advantage of them by working between 10 and 11 hours those days. If I saw anything that I did not like, it was quickly addressed or the explanation was given why it had to be done that way. The answer was always acceptable to me. They took the time to help me understand the various installation tasks. The longevity of Finn and Alex’s careers with Interlock are testimony to Interlock as a company, their product knowledge and experience levels, and work quality. I would highly recommend Interlock Industries roofs to others.
Dear Mr. Michael Baldassari, My wife and I would like to express our satisfaction with your metal roof installation on our house. The roof was installed in late November of 2009, only a few days before we received our first major snow fall. Your roofing crew was extremely professional and their work exceeded our expectations. They installed our roof in an efficient and careful manner; working tirelessly for two and a half days. At completion, they did a fantastic job of cleaning up the yard around the house. In particular, we have really appreciated one of the advantages that your ">metal roof offers. Snow easily slides off and does not build up a snow load. After the second snow fall, I gave away my snow rake knowing that I would never again have to get on an extension ladder to clear a two and a half story roof. Due to the size of our roof, in the past, this task has taken several hours and has been somewhat hazardous. I certainly won't miss this "pleasurable task" of home ownership. Last week on Thursday evening, the 25th of February, we had rain, snow and wind gusts up to 68 miles per hour for several hours. The roof received punishing forces from the wind as well as flying debris from tree branches and pine cones. We were a little concerned that we would see roof damage the next morning. However, upon inspection, the roof remained intact. The resistance to such forces demonstrates how well the metal ">roof has been installed and the topnotch quality of the metal roofing material itself. Knowing that we will never have to replace our roof again has convinced us more than ever that we made a wise investment. The aesthetics of the black ">metal roof has added a richness and quality finish to our home which we will enjoy for many years to come.
Repair of my roof was very impressive. Couldn't tell where the repair was done. Very satisfied customer.
Repair of my roof was very impressive. Couldn't tell where the repair was done. Very satisfied customer.
Critical: Responsiveness Our original roof that was installed in 2011 is fine, but, like other reviewers, it has been impossible to get a quote for a roof on an addition we are planning. The contractor has tried multiple times to get a quote and was repeatedly told they would relay to request. When he got nowhere, I called and was told Jennifer, the installation coordinator, was out sick, but they would send her an email. They agreed to cc me on the email, but they never did. I just tried calling and had to leave a voice message. Does your company want more business or not?! Service: Roof installation --- Response from the owner: Hi Barbara, I understand Mike Rasmussen has been in touch with your husband and your contractor regarding your project, and it’s in the works. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns. Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Shrewsbury
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Shrewsbury.
How does a metal roof handle Shrewsbury's heavy snow loads?
Interlock metal roofing sheds snow naturally because of its hard, smooth surface and steep panel profiles—the Cedar Shingle and Shake styles are especially effective. With about 123 cm of snow falling annually in Worcester County, and freeze-thaw cycling happening roughly 93 days per year, aluminum's non-porous structure won't absorb meltwater or develop ice dams the way asphalt does. The lightweight panels (Cedar Shingle installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) mean no structural reinforcement is needed, even in heavy accumulation years. Snow guards are available if you prefer to manage slides.
Does metal roofing crack in freeze-thaw weather?
No—aluminum is inherently resistant to freeze-thaw damage because it contains no iron and cannot rust or rot, and it doesn't absorb moisture that causes material breakdown. Shrewsbury experiences about 93 freeze-thaw days per year, a condition that splits wood shakes and degrades asphalt. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels (ASTM B209 spec) flexes without cracking, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating—warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—protects against the salt and mineral deposits that accelerate deterioration. The Guardian warranty covers cracking and splitting for the life of your roof.
Can a metal roof rust in Massachusetts winters?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—only the corrosion-resistant 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209). Even when scratched, aluminum naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that re-protects the surface, a chemistry advantage steel simply doesn't have. Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, providing extra defense in Shrewsbury's wet climate (about 1058 mm of rain annually). The Guardian warranty explicitly covers rusting, giving you a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty—peace of mind your steel-roofed neighbor won't have.
Will a metal roof hold up in Worcester County wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above Shrewsbury's typical gust speeds of about 104 km/h. The interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire roof system, and the lightweight construction (Slate profile ~0.41 lb/sq ft) means less wind resistance without sacrificing strength. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with current IBC/IRC wind codes. Your roof stays secure whether you experience spring nor'easters or the occasional strong coastal flow.
How does metal roofing perform in heavy rain?
Metal roofing channels water off quickly because of its hard surface and panel slope—no water pools or gets trapped the way it can in asphalt shingle valleys. Shrewsbury receives about 1058 mm of rain per year, and the interlocking panel design ensures water flows directly to gutters without seeping into seams. Installation over a solid deck with 30-pound felt underlayment creates a redundant leak barrier. When installed to specification by a qualified contractor, metal roofs are among the most leak-resistant options available. The Guardian warranty covers any water intrusion due to defects in materials or workmanship.
Does hail damage metal roofing, and could I get insurance savings?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance means your roof withstands harder impacts than asphalt or wood can, reducing the likelihood of damage claims. Many homeowners see lower insurance premiums because metal roofing's durability and non-combustibility (Class A fire rating available) reduce risk from the insurer's perspective. Contact your agent to ask about discounts; the combination of impact resistance and 25+ year lifespan often qualifies for favorable rates.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?
No structural reinforcement is necessary. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, and even the heavier Shake option weighs only about 0.58 lb/sq ft. This lightweight advantage means you can install metal roofing directly over most existing asphalt roofs without adding beams, trusses, or additional framing. That saves thousands in structural work and installation time. The panels' strength comes from their four-way interlocking design and aluminum's inherent rigidity, not from weight—a smart engineering choice for any home, regardless of age.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?
Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or traditional tile. Asphalt shingles need regular inspections for splits and curling, wood shakes can rot or attract insects, and tile can crack. Interlock's aluminum panels resist all three problems—they don't split, rot, or crack, and their non-porous surface sheds debris and moss growth. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years, resists fading and chalking even under Shrewsbury's 3054 annual sunshine hours. After installation, plan on a simple annual gutter cleaning and occasional inspection. You'll spend less time on maintenance and more enjoying your home.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?
Yes—it's the last roof you'll buy. While asphalt costs less initially, it typically lasts 15–25 years and requires periodic repairs, tearoffs, and landfill disposal. Interlock's Guardian warranty is non-prorated lifetime limited for the original owner, transferable for 50 years to the next owner. Over a 40-year horizon, one metal roof (installed once) beats two or three asphalt replacements plus labor, disposal, and the convenience disruption. Current financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Factor in energy savings from energy-efficient colors (up to 0.55 solar reflectance) and potential insurance discounts, and the cost-per-year is actually lower than asphalt.
Is metal roofing better for the environment?
Absolutely. Aluminum is about 95% recyclable, meaning at the end of its life—which won't happen in your lifetime—it returns to manufacturing without losing quality. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are torn off every 15–25 years and sent to landfills where they persist for decades. Interlock's manufacturing in Delta, BC since 1998 uses durable, reusable materials, and installation often happens over existing roofs, avoiding unnecessary tearoff waste. The CALGreen-verified design also supports reduced long-term maintenance burden. By choosing metal, you're breaking the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle and investing in a roof that lasts generations and can be recycled when it finally does reach end-of-life.
