Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lattingtown

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lattingtown, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lattingtown.

Will a metal roof hold up to Lattingtown's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum's oxide layer actually improves with thermal cycling. Lattingtown experiences roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year, and roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209) expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling like asphalt or wood shake do. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate this movement, and the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (both sides) resists degradation through those seasonal swings. After 27 years of installations across coastal and continental climates since 1998, material brittleness from freeze-thaw is not a failure mode.

How does metal roofing handle heavy snow in Nassau County?

Lattingtown averages about 63 centimeters of snow annually, and aluminum's extreme lightness is an advantage: the Slate profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft—so snow load stress on your framing is minimal compared to traditional slate or tile. The interlocking four-way panel design resists wind-driven drifting, and optional snow guards can be added to manage discharge. Unlike wood shake, aluminum will not absorb meltwater or become prone to ice-dam rot. The solid deck and underlayment create a thermal break that reduces ice-dam formation.

Is a metal roof strong enough for Nassau County wind and gusts?

Absolutely. Lattingtown's typical gusts reach 135 km/h, and Interlock panels are four-way interlocked and warranted to resist wind up to 120 mph when installed to spec—well above local design wind speeds. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) confirms compliance with the IBC/IRC for this region. Unlike loose-laid or nailed shingles that can be torn away, the mechanical interlocking system distributes wind load across the entire roof plane, and the lightweight aluminum (versus concrete tile at 96% heavier) reduces uplift force. Nassau County coastal and inland homes both benefit from this engineered resistance.

Why doesn't aluminum metal roofing rust like steel does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms an extremely thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal permanently. Lattingtown receives about 1251 millimeters of rain yearly, and the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides) adds a 30-year warranted defense against chalking and fading—crucial in salt-air and wet climates. Even if the coating is scratched, the oxide layer regenerates. Steel roofing, by contrast, rusts through once the paint fails. This is why Interlock aluminum has been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations without corrosion failure.

With 1250+ mm of annual rainfall, will metal roofing leak?

Heavy rainfall is exactly why metal roofing excels. Lattingtown receives about 1251 millimeters of rain per year—well above the U.S. average—yet aluminum's smooth, interlocking panel design sheds water faster than textured asphalt shingles. The four-way mechanical interlock creates a labyrinth that directs water outward; there are no adhesive seams to fail in freeze-thaw cycles or UV breakdown. When installed over a solid deck and underlayment to spec, the system is as water-tight as any roof. The Guardian warranty covers leakage from material defect for the original owner's lifetime and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years.

Can hail damage a metal roof, and will insurance cover it?

Metal roofs are exceptionally hail-resistant. Interlock panels earn UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and are even warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Nassau County does experience occasional severe weather, and many insurers recognize this durability by offering premium discounts or reduced deductibles for metal roofing. Class A non-combustible aluminum also qualifies for fire-discount bundling on homeowner policies. When filing a claim, the lifetime limited Guardian warranty covers impact damage to the material itself, complementing your insurance coverage.

Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for metal shingles?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft and the Tile just 0.59 lb/sq ft—making it about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most existing roofs can support Interlock aluminum without additional framing or engineer approval, which saves thousands in structural work. Lattingtown homes with aging rafters or trusses particularly benefit from this lightness. Because installation can go directly over an existing roof, you avoid a costly teardown and the structural disruption of re-roofing with slate, clay tile, or concrete. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation explicitly covers direct-over installation, so a licensed contractor can confirm your specific structure during the site visit.

What warranty covers an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The Alunar coating itself is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). The warranty is one-time transferable: if you sell, the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from the completion date. This transferability boosts resale appeal in Lattingtown's competitive market. No other roofing product—asphalt, wood, slate, or steel—offers a non-prorated lifetime guarantee, making Interlock your final roof investment.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need?

Virtually none. Asphalt roofs require annual inspections for gutter debris, moss, mold, and shingle deterioration; wood shake demands regular treatment against rot and splitting; and clay or concrete tile needs resealing and moss removal every few years. Aluminum is maintenance-free. Rain (Lattingtown averages 1251 mm yearly) naturally cleans the Alunar-coated surface, and the non-porous aluminum resists moss, algae, and mold growth. The CALGreen-verified rating recognizes reduced maintenance as a sustainability advantage. Interlock Roofing of America, serving the region since 2014, routinely inspects gutters and flashing during annual gutter cleanings, but the metal itself requires no upkeep.

Can a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. While Lattingtown enjoys about 3115 sunshine hours annually, energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorb it like asphalt shingles do. Reflectance ratings reach up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity is 0.84, reducing roof surface temperature and lowering air-conditioning load in warm months. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating proves this measurable benefit. Aluminum's high conductivity also means trapped heat beneath the roof dissipates faster. Over the roof's 50+ year lifespan, energy savings compound—particularly as summer temperatures warm. Combined with the non-prorated lifetime warranty, your cooling cost reduction is literally built in.
