Review: April 24, 2026 Completion: November 9, 2017

I love my Interlock roof! No more climbing up to clean it, and no more gritty debris falling into my garden after a few years. It looks fantastic and performs exactly as it should. The installers were excellent—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and personable. Ivan is a gem! He handled a small flashing addition efficiently and cleaned the entire roof with a blower in no time. After almost ten years, it’s still the only roof I would choose.

Review: April 20, 2026 Completion: June 20, 2019

We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.

Review: January 20, 2026 Completion: August 10, 2001

Fast response and excellent work. The technician drop by within couple of days, found the cause, and provided quote. The price was reasonable for the work scope. They were able to secure the work slot as soon as the raining season was over and kept me informed on the schedule. In addition, they inspected remaining roof as well. Note: the leak was due to gutter pulling the corner flashing. The 10+ year Interlock roof tile remained good.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Bridgeton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Bridgeton, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Bridgeton.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, cedar shake, or tile?

Yes—Interlock offers five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile, each cast from roofing-grade aluminum to match the visual character of those materials. The aluminum panels are four-way interlocking, so they install as a unified system while delivering the appearance you want. With about 2,957 sunshine hours per year in Bridgeton, the Alunar 70% PVDF coating maintains color fidelity for 30 years against chalking and fading, so your roof's look stays true through decades of Pacific Northwest weather.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's lifetime, metal roofing typically saves money because you won't replace it. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in wet climates; Bridgeton receives about 1,468 mm of rain annually, which accelerates degradation. A metal roof's lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty covers material defects for the original owner, and the roof is transferable—giving the next owner 50 years of protection from completion. That means no tear-off costs, no labor for replacement, and no asphalt debris in landfills. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.

Why can't aluminum roofs rust like steel ones, and does that matter in the Pacific Northwest?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust only forms when iron oxidizes. Instead, aluminum develops a thin oxide layer that is actually protective and self-heals if scratched. In wet climates like Bridgeton (about 1,468 mm of rain yearly), steel roofs slowly corrode, weakening fasteners and panels. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of Interlock panels, adding a second barrier against moisture in salt air and high-humidity zones. This dual protection means your roof resists the damp that degrades other metals.

Is a metal roof fire-resistant?

Interlock aluminum roofing is non-combustible and earns Class A fire classification when installed to spec—the highest fire rating available. The material itself will not ignite, burn, or spread flames, making it a strong choice if wildfire risk or fire code compliance is a concern. The roofing is verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790 (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025) and CALGreen standards, so it meets both Oregon residential code and energy-efficiency guidelines. Combined with its durability through Bridgeton's freeze–thaw cycles (about 36 days yearly), a Class A metal roof offers both fire safety and long-term weather resistance.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt or wood. Asphalt shingles suffer in Bridgeton's wet climate—about 1,468 mm of rain annually promotes algae, moss, and granule loss that demand regular cleaning. Wood roofs (cedar shake) are prone to rot, splitting, and insect damage in the same moisture-heavy environment. Interlock's aluminum and Alunar fluorocarbon finish are verified CALGreen-certified for reduced maintenance; they shed moss and debris naturally and don't require sealing, re-staining, or tear-offs. You'll spend less time and money keeping your roof sound.

Will a metal roof help my home's curb appeal and resale value?

A metal roof signals durability, quality, and low future maintenance to buyers—attributes that appeal in a wet Pacific Northwest market where roofing problems are common and costly. With five aesthetic profiles available, you choose the look—not a compromise between appearance and performance. The roof's 30-year color warranty and Class A fire rating are features buyers research and appreciate. The lifetime material warranty and 50-year transferable coverage give the next owner peace of mind. In Bridgeton, where annual snowfall reaches about 48 cm and wind gusts to 116 km/h, a roof that won't fail, rot, or leak is a genuine value-add.

How long does installation take, and can you install metal roofing over my existing roof?

Installation timelines depend on your roof's size and weather, but metal roofing typically installs faster than shingles because the interlocking panels cover more area per piece. One major advantage: Interlock's extraordinary lightweight design—the Shingle profile at about 0.41 lb/sq ft and the Mediterranean Tile at about 0.59 lb/sq ft—means you can usually install over an existing roof without structural reinforcement. This eliminates tear-off labor and debris fees. Our local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and can assess your roof and provide a timeline. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Significantly. Interlock aluminum roofing is approximately 95% recyclable—at end of life, the material returns to the recycling stream instead of a landfill. By contrast, asphalt roofs are torn off every 15–20 years in Bridgeton's wet climate and sent to disposal. Over a century, a home might see six asphalt replacements, while one metal roof lasts a lifetime. The recycled aluminum content in Interlock panels, plus the elimination of repeated tear-offs, means you're breaking the asphalt replacement cycle and reducing your home's landfill footprint significantly.

Will a metal roof withstand Bridgeton's wind and storms?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Bridgeton's typical daily-max winds are about 15 km/h, with gusts reaching 116 km/h—well within the roof's rated capacity. The interlocking design means panels lock together mechanically; they don't rely solely on fasteners, so wind can't peel or lift individual shingles the way it can with asphalt. Combined with your region's heavy annual rainfall (about 1,468 mm) and freeze–thaw stress (about 36 days yearly), the panel's structural integrity keeps you protected through every season.

Does my metal roof warranty cover hail damage?

Yes. Interlock roofing earns UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty explicitly covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rigorous impact rating is rare; many standard roofs carry Class 1 or 2. Some insurance companies recognize Class 4 impact resistance and offer premium discounts on homes with such roofing. Because Bridgeton receives weather-related stress (about 36 freeze–thaw cycles yearly), the combination of impact resistance and non-corrosive aluminum means your roof absorbs storm damage better than materials that degrade over time.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Bridgeton’s climate?

Yes. Bridgeton averages about 48 cm of snow, 1468 mm of rain, roughly 36 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 116 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
