We are completely satisfied with our beautiful new roof. We had an old concrete tile roof before which had developed a few leaks and was extremely heavy for our 1960s house to continue to support. I love the look of a tile roof and really wanted to continue with something that looked similar. Interlock produces a tile look roof which I fell in love with. Yes it is more expensive than most other roofs but the benefits make it worth it in our opinion. The aluminum roof will last for longer than we will, it is the lightest roof we could get and we have definitely noticed the difference in how cool the house has been since it was installed. The garage has been a good 10 degrees or more cooler and is actually comfortable to work in now!The crew of young men who did the installation were fantastic. Victor and his crew had the tile roof and the composition roof underneath torn off and disposed of in two days and the new roof on and the yard completely cleaned up in another two. This was during 100+ degree weather. We had an all-around wonderful experience with Interlock and definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. We think our roof is the prettiest one in the whole neighborhood!

They could have told us they were changing the date and about any problems. They could have called, text, or emailed. They could have done something, but they did nothing.

They still need to finish up the very last final touches but still overall they were excellent and went over and above the call of duty. I would give a 10 out of 4 stars! It was an extremely pleasant experience! They went above and beyond the call of duty. The were over the top!

Review: June 13, 2019 Completion: May 30, 2019

A mistake was made in the installation of the valley on the front of the house. It was crooked. We were not told this. They left it like that, and continued to proceed. We discovered it ourselves. Nothing was done to correct it until after talking to the "big boss" twice. "don't remember his name". The first time he said, "They said that they followed the "line". The next time he came by, Charlie told him..."We can't leave it like this. This isn't going to work for me." He said they would fix it. They had to pry up the new tile on both sides for several feet, straighten out the valley and force it all back into place. We don't think they had any ideas how upset we were. We are still concerned that the redo they did could cause a leak at some time in the future. It does look great now and I know we will enjoy it for many years. We would recommend better communication when or if there is a problem We should have been told IMMEDIATELY, AND THE AND THE VALLEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN STRAIGHTENED OUT BEFORE CONTINUING ABOVE IT. No

I'd like to get it done for 30,000 instead of 32,000; they need to lower their price one crumb. It needs to be 30 on the spot.

Review: November 13, 2018

The presentation was very good and extremely informative. We thought that the product was wonderful, but it just came down to the fact that we are not going to be in this home for more than 10 years, so it wasn't cost effective for us. If we knew that we were going to be staying here for 20 to 30 years, then we would have done it.

Review: January 15, 2016 Completion: December 17, 2015

Their product is good. They should work on their communication. We would not have had a problem, if they would have called us, even if they would have had to put it off. Their communication skills is an area that they should improve on. We were asked whether it's noisy or not, since the installation. I'll have to say, it's not noisy.

Very upsetting had a week event on pay 4 view that weekend & no dish. DirecTv could not relocate tell Monday. My dish hanging by the cable off the house. Sales peaple sould have told me I needed to move it. I could have had it moved in plenty of time if I know. I did get call on Delivery of materials but not when they would start work. not sure who or remember who Divid Droubay is. But installation crew was great. If thats who Divid is thry where great.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Brooks

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Brooks, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Brooks.

Does metal roofing handle heavy rain better than asphalt shingles in Brooks?

Metal roofing's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed water faster than asphalt and won't absorb it. Brooks receives about 1329 mm of rain annually, and metal's solid surface—when installed over a solid deck with underlayment—channels that volume directly off the roof without the saturation and pooling that degrades asphalt over time. The interlocking design eliminates gaps where water can migrate sideways into seams, making leaks far less likely over decades of Marion County's consistent moisture.

Will a metal roof reduce my insurance premiums if hail strikes in Brooks?

Many insurers offer discounts for UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated roofing, and Interlock's aluminum panels meet that highest available standard—warranted even against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Contact your agent with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 rating and Class 4 documentation; some carriers reduce premiums 10–15% for Class 4 metal. Given Marion County's wind gusts reaching 111 km/h and freeze-thaw cycles around 39 days per year, impact durability directly lowers your risk profile.

Can metal roofing withstand the wind gusts we get in Brooks, Oregon?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Brooks experiences typical gusts around 111 km/h, well within that rated capacity. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel on all sides—top, bottom, and both flanks—so wind pressure cannot lift or separate them the way it can peel asphalt tabs. This anchorage design, combined with proper fastening, means your roof stays secure through Marion County's seasonal gusts without the gradual loosening that compromises shingles.

Does aluminum roofing require structural reinforcement on older Brooks homes?

No. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roofs without reinforcing the framing. Even the heavier Shake profile is only 0.58 lb/sq ft. Older Brooks homes often cannot support tile's 600–900 lb load, but aluminum delivers tile's visual appeal at a fraction of the weight. You can often install over your current roof, avoiding the cost and mess of a complete tear-off.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; rust requires iron oxide to form. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with an Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides. When aluminum is scratched, its oxide layer self-heals, sealing the exposed metal. This is why Interlock panels have been installed successfully from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica's research stations since 1998—the material's chemistry simply does not corrode.

Can a metal roof actually lower cooling costs in Brooks?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors have thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55, reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Brooks receives about 3054 sunshine hours per year; that persistent reflectance reduces cooling load throughout the warm season. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable energy performance. Over a roof's 50-year life, this efficiency advantage compounds—less air-conditioning runtime means lower monthly bills and slower aging of your HVAC system.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover and for how long?

The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion date. Unlike prorated warranties that shrink over time, this means you're covered for the full scope of defects for your entire ownership. The Alunar coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244). For Brooks homeowners planning to stay long-term, that's genuine peace of mind.

What roofing profiles does Interlock offer for Brooks homes?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam—each in roofing-grade aluminum with authentic dimensional texture. Slate replicates cut-stone appearance; Cedar Shingle and Shake mimic wood grain and coursing; Mediterranean Tile echoes barrel-clay profile; Standing Seam suits modern or industrial aesthetics. All profiles carry the same four-way interlocking system, Alunar 70% PVDF dual-sided coating, and lifecycle advantages. Your choice is purely aesthetic; performance remains identical across Marion County's rain, snow, and freeze-thaw cycles.

How long does metal roof installation take, and can it go over my old roof?

Installation timelines depend on roof size and complexity, but aluminum's light weight and panel-based design typically accelerate the job compared to asphalt re-roofing. Because Interlock panels weigh 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft and the interlocking system requires no underlayment changes, you can often install directly over an existing roof in good structural condition—eliminating tear-off labor and landfill fees. Brooks's wet climate means avoiding a winter delay on tear-off debris. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving the region since 1997, will assess your deck during the free estimate and advise on the fastest, most cost-effective path.

Is aluminum roofing really more environmentally responsible than asphalt?

Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life, and Interlock's panels can be recycled into new products indefinitely without degradation. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are typically torn off every 15–20 years and sent to landfills, creating a perpetual waste cycle. Over 50 years in Brooks—with its 1329 mm annual rainfall and 39 freeze-thaw days accelerating asphalt breakdown—you would replace asphalt 2–3 times, generating tons of waste. One aluminum roof eliminates that cycle entirely, and when it eventually ends its service life, it enters the recycling stream rather than a dump.
