What our customers are saying:
Positive, Responsiveness, Services: Roof installation
Originally my house had an aluminum shingle roof by Fin-all. Eleven years later, after an oak tree fell across my house , my insurance company installed a steel shingle roof because they said Fin-all was no longer in business. I was disappointed because I felt the replacement roof was not up to the standard of the aluminum roof that I originally had. Then we had a bad ice storm that broke huge branches from all the trees - sending a large branch spearing through my roof. After failing to be able to find out what kind of roof the insurance company had installed on my house they finally agreed to replace the entire roof again. After much research I finally found Interlock. I found out from Damon that Interlock is actually the company that bought out Fin-all; my original roof! Even though interlock was more expensive than any other estimate I received my insurance company accepted their estimate. All this to say: Interlock is even better than my original roof because they have made improvements on the original design and the quality is obviously better than the steel shingles that were replaced. The Interlock crew chief took the time to explain the differences in manufacturing and installation -Interlock is sturdier and has better texture for a much more appealing look. Both my previous roofs would take damage if walked on but because of the design and texture in these new shingles, they are much sturdier. I am confident that I now have the best roof on the market- and an excellent warranty as well!! Positive: Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism Services: Roof damage repair, Roof installation
We are completely satisfied with our beautiful new roof. We had an old concrete tile roof before which had developed a few leaks and was extremely heavy for our 1960s house to continue to support. I love the look of a tile roof and really wanted to continue with something that looked similar. Interlock produces a tile look roof which I fell in love with. Yes it is more expensive than most other roofs but the benefits make it worth it in our opinion. The aluminum roof will last for longer than we will, it is the lightest roof we could get and we have definitely noticed the difference in how cool the house has been since it was installed. The garage has been a good 10 degrees or more cooler and is actually comfortable to work in now!The crew of young men who did the installation were fantastic. Victor and his crew had the tile roof and the composition roof underneath torn off and disposed of in two days and the new roof on and the yard completely cleaned up in another two. This was during 100+ degree weather. We had an all-around wonderful experience with Interlock and definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. We think our roof is the prettiest one in the whole neighborhood!
Very pleased with Ivan's work from Interlock at our home!
Jared form Interlock was great. Very detail oriented and thorough explaining all the types of roofing offered and providing us with a comprehensive estimate. If looking for a new roof. Dont hesitate, give them a call.
We are extremely pleased with the quality, appearance and fast installation of our new Interlock roof. The crew did awesome work and were friendly and careful. We feel so much safer with the protection of our metal roof on our home, which is surrounded by beautiful fir trees.
I had a "slate style" metal roof installed by Interlock Roofing and these guys are great! They were so polite and fast, they got my whole roof done in just two days and cleaned up the site perfectly. I would highly recommend them. Positive, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Update on my Interlock Roof System. I encourage you to read all of this review, because it has a very important element to it, and it might surprise you.I had the roof installed 2 years ago, & as noted in my original review below, the subcontractor at that time was less than attentive. Turns out, his crew was, too. In late 2020, there was a pretty significant leak into the kitchen from the sola tube, which prompted a repair call. The responses from customer service were a bit iffy, but Ivan (super knowledgeable guy) came out to inspect the leaks. At that time he also investigated the leaking behind the gutters & facia boards that had been happening right from the beginning. Apparently there was excessive condensation happening above and below the waterproofing, & it was a mystery why that was happening. It took two attempts to fix the leak into the kitchen, & a few more inspections to investigate the failing roof. There several visits and emails, & finally, in early 2021, I found it necessary to formally executed a warranty claim on the roof to HQ in Canada. I expected resistance. Here is the great part. Not only did Interlock Roofing take my warranty claim seriously, having Ivan come back yet again & open up a portion of the roof to inspect further; Mr. Yvon Giroux, VP of Installation in Canada, decided to have his best crew come out & completely tear off not only the Interlock Roof, but the asphalt roof underneath it as well, & start from absolute scratch. A fully new installation. To no one's surprise, they found mistakes were done by the first subcontracting crew (who didn't work for Interlock very long that year). I can tell you, the crew that came out last week were top notch. I haven't seen that amount of dedicated hard work in a very long time. It was obvious right from the start this crew was knowledgeable & well polished.I am so impressed with the Interlock Roofing System, the Company, and their integrity! The tear off, any repairs, & full installation was done in 2 days. Right after, we had several days of heavy rain. Not. One. Drip. Anywhere. The roof is even more attractive and beautiful than before. Interlock earned every one of their 5 stars. The roof is amazing, and I am one very satisfied customer.\*\*Original Review\*\*The roof is amazing. It looks great and the neighbors compliment it all the time. Big bonus is I have hardly used my air conditioning at all this year. What Interlock told me appears to be pretty spot on as far as the roof keeping the house cooler during hot weather. And finally, I really enjoy not having to get up on the roof several times a year to maintain it, knowing it is going to outlast me.The company was very gentle with us when we asked to postpone our fall scheduled installation for a few months due to a series of deaths, and as soon as weather permitted in the spring, we had the roof installed. The only thing that I was not thrilled about was when the installers arrived, I found out they were not employed by Interlock, as we were led to believe when we signed the contract last year. Quite honestly, had I known the installation was sub-contracted out, it would have been a deal breaker and I wouldn't have signed the contract. The sub-contractor was often busy with his other business needs and wasn't always on site during the installation. I understand his crew might only work on Interlock installations, but the owner of the contracting business was not solely dedicated to Interlock. He was a really nice guy, but not super attentive to my questions or concerns, which came back to haunt him later. I had requested a customer service follow-up after the installation that took a couple of months to have my concerned addressed fully. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the sub-contractor instead of employees for the install, and the fact the customer service response was pretty slow. In the end, Interlock made good on everything. I still recommend them as a company, and I definitely recommend the roof. Services: Roof inspection, Roof installation, Roof repair
Looks great, unlike the common metal roofs you see.And being aluminum it won't rust out. Recently we had freezing rain which caused some tree limbs to break off and fall from a tree close to our house which demolished one gutter and part of another one, also partially smashing a roof vent ; but the metal roof held up supprisingly well. We also had a forest fire this past summer before putting this roof on that came close.A metal roof is just a little more deterent you can add against such events.5 stars. Damon, the installers, and everyone at interlock were wonderful and easy to work with. THANKS . Positive, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Value, Services: Roof installation
We had our roof replaced about 1.5 years ago with Interlock and the experience was amazing. They were easy to schedule, matched their estimate to the cent, helped us find a great financing company, and were ahead of schedule. The whole process from meeting & picking from a great selection to watching them tear down layers of shingles and apply a seamless roof was impressively efficient. It still looks amazing, and we’ve had no problems. I’d highly recommend them & their products. Our house is a ton lighter, easier to maintain and is more efficient to heat & cool. Great product, great selection, and great company overall. Positive Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Value
Excellent product and insulation was also excellent. I would recommend this product as the last roof your house will ever need. The fir needles wash off with a good rain and the slate roof looks just like slate. AAA+++
We had a metal roof already, but we wanted a nicer looking metal roof that didn’t stand out in the neighborhood. After seeing the Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems at the Home Improvement Show, we set up an appointment. I had already checked them out on their website, so it wasn’t whether or not we were going to do the roof, rather what style and color did we want. Interlock kept us up to date on when they would be out here. The installers arrived in December 2016 and in two days we had a new roof. They were the most polite workers that we have ever had at the house. They showed us the material they that lay down before the roof goes on it was a very thick underlayment. No wonder our house is 5 degrees warmer and the heater doesn’t come on as much as it did before. They did an excellent job of clean up. You could not even tell that we had anything done outside. A few weeks after the roof was installed Glenn Boss and his boss showed up in person to make sure that everything was right and see if we had any questions. You do not see this level of service anywhere. This year here in the Pacific Northwest we have gotten a record amount of rain. With our old metal roof, it would have been really loud, but with the Interlock Roofing System, we can barely hear it. The only way that we knew it is raining is if we hear it hit the windows or we look outside and see it coming down. We just love our new roof! The house looks so much nicer than it did before with our other metal roof. And we are really enjoying how much warmer our home is now.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Monitor
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Monitor, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Monitor.
How does a metal roof handle Monitor's heavy snow loads and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice efficiently because aluminum's smooth surface prevents accumulation better than asphalt, and the interlocking four-way panel design resists buckling under load. Monitor averages about 220 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 37 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions that cause traditional shingles to curl and crack as moisture cycles in and out. Interlock's aluminum alloy (3105-H24 / 3003-H24) maintains structural integrity through these stresses without the degradation that wood or asphalt suffer. Snow guards can be added if desired, and the lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no costly structural reinforcement is needed, even over existing roofs.
With 1,732 mm of annual rainfall in Monitor, will a metal roof leak?
No—the four-way interlocking panel system creates a watertight envelope that actually improves leak resistance compared to shingles, which deteriorate and gap under sustained moisture exposure. Monitor's 1,732 mm annual rainfall is distributed across the year, creating constant moisture stress that degrades asphalt coatings and opens seams in traditional roofs. Metal panels interlock on all four sides, shedding water at the seam rather than pooling it, and because there are no nails through the field of the panel (fasteners are hidden), there are no puncture points for water intrusion. Proper installation over existing roofing with underlayment—standard in the region since 1997—ensures complete leak protection for the roof's lifetime.
Why won't an aluminum metal roof rust like steel roofing does in rainy Oregon?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and degrades in steel. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the underlying metal. This is why Interlock panels have been installed successfully in salt-air coastal environments and even at Antarctic research stations since 1998. Monitor's climate combines 1,732 mm of rain with about 116 km/h wind gusts that drive moisture deep into crevices, but aluminum's oxide layer regenerates when scratched, whereas steel's rust spreads and weakens the panel. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating—warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214)—provides a second defensive layer, making corrosion physically impossible.
Can a metal roof withstand Monitor's winter wind gusts without coming loose?
Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above the maximum recorded gusts in Monitor of about 116 km/h. The four-way interlocking design means each panel locks to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners like shingles do. This redundancy is why the system carries an ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) for code compliance in high-wind zones. Because the panels interlock mechanically rather than relying on fastener strength alone, wind cannot peel or lift the roof even when gusts approach or occasionally exceed typical conditions. Installation to specification is key—the local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., has served the region since 1997 and understands Oregon's wind patterns.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to replacing asphalt shingles every 15–20 years?
Over a 50-year horizon, metal roofing is typically less expensive than asphalt because you install it once, whereas asphalt requires two to three full replacements and recurring tear-off labor. Asphalt shingles cost less initially but degrade rapidly in Monitor's climate: 1,732 mm annual rainfall, 37 freeze-thaw cycles, and 220 cm of snow all accelerate the breakdown of bitumen binders and fiberglass reinforcement. A metal roof never needs replacement, and its transferable lifetime limited warranty—covering the original owner for life and the next owner for 50 years from completion—protects your investment across ownership changes. Current financing through Interlock includes no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation, reducing the effective first cost. When you factor in the environmental cost of landfilling asphalt three times over 50 years, the economics favor metal decisively.
Does my Monitor home need structural reinforcement to support a metal roof?
No—Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light, and the Mediterranean Tile profile (the heaviest aesthetic option) installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than the concrete or clay tile it replicates. Most homes can accommodate metal roofing over their existing structure without reinforcement because the weight of a full metal roof system is often less than a single layer of traditional asphalt shingles. This lightweight advantage is crucial in Monitor, where heavy snow loads (about 220 cm annually) and 37 freeze-thaw cycles stress structural framing; a lighter roof distributes those snow loads more efficiently and reduces the cumulative burden on trusses and walls. The ability to install over existing roofing—without tearing off the old asphalt—further simplifies the project, cuts labor time, and preserves the building envelope during installation.
What warranty backs an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it actually last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning there's no diminishing coverage year-to-year—and it transfers once to the next owner for an additional 50 years from completion. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance, addressing every failure mode relevant to Oregon's climate. Non-prorated warranty is rare in roofing; most competitors prorate coverage, meaning you pay for repairs yourself as the roof ages. Because aluminum is inherently corrosion-proof and Interlock's 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against fading (ASTM D4214), the warranty reflects the material's true durability rather than industry pessimism. In Monitor's moisture-rich environment (1,732 mm rain, 37 freeze-thaw days), a roof that genuinely lasts for life—not merely for 20 or 30 years—represents genuine financial security.
Can an energy-efficiency metal roof lower cooling costs in Monitor's sunny climate?
Yes—Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning these finishes reflect heat rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does. Monitor receives about 3,004 sunshine hours annually, so even in a mild climate, reflective roofing reduces the heat load transferred into living spaces and air conditioning demand. Cool Roof Rating Council certification validates this performance under standardized conditions. While Monitor's heating season dominates (mean annual temperature 11.5°C), the shoulder seasons—spring and fall—see days warm enough that lower solar absorption through the roof reduces HVAC cycling and associated energy use. The reflective advantage also extends roof lifespan by keeping surface temperatures lower during the 37 annual freeze-thaw cycles, reducing the thermal stress that causes asphalt and wood shingles to curl and crack.
What architectural styles does Interlock metal roofing offer for a Monitor home?
Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile, each with four-way interlocking aluminum panels that replicate traditional materials while delivering metal's durability and performance. The Cedar Shingle and Shake profiles echo the craftsman and rustic aesthetics common in Pacific Northwest homes; Slate suits contemporary and historic revival designs; Standing Seam provides clean, modern lines; and Mediterranean Tile brings European formality. All profiles are made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), manufactured in Delta, BC, since 1998, and finished with Alunar 70% PVDF on both sides for salt-air durability. The profiles are available in multiple colors, so curb appeal is customizable to your home's character while gaining the weather resistance and 120 mph wind warranty that no traditional material can match.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Monitor, and how experienced are they?
Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. is the local installer serving Monitor and Marion County, with 27 years of regional experience dating back to 1997. Long tenure in the Pacific Northwest means deep familiarity with Oregon's climate challenges—the 220 cm of annual snow, 1,732 mm rainfall, 37 freeze-thaw cycles, and 116 km/h gusts—and proven expertise in flashing, ventilation, and waterproofing details that suit the region. The installer handles the full range of Interlock profiles and colors, can advise on existing roof conditions, and executes the installation to the standard that validates the ICC-ES ESR-1790 code evaluation and the Guardian Warranty's coverage. Current promotion includes no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making this an opportune time to connect with an installer who understands both the product and your local weather.
