| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
We are completely satisfied with our beautiful new roof. We had an old concrete tile roof before which had developed a few leaks and was extremely heavy for our 1960s house to continue to support. I love the look of a tile roof and really wanted to continue with something that looked similar. Interlock produces a tile look roof which I fell in love with. Yes it is more expensive than most other roofs but the benefits make it worth it in our opinion. The aluminum roof will last for longer than we will, it is the lightest roof we could get and we have definitely noticed the difference in how cool the house has been since it was installed. The garage has been a good 10 degrees or more cooler and is actually comfortable to work in now!The crew of young men who did the installation were fantastic. Victor and his crew had the tile roof and the composition roof underneath torn off and disposed of in two days and the new roof on and the yard completely cleaned up in another two. This was during 100+ degree weather. We had an all-around wonderful experience with Interlock and definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. We think our roof is the prettiest one in the whole neighborhood!
Positive, Responsiveness, Services: Roof installation
Originally my house had an aluminum shingle roof by Fin-all. Eleven years later, after an oak tree fell across my house , my insurance company installed a steel shingle roof because they said Fin-all was no longer in business. I was disappointed because I felt the replacement roof was not up to the standard of the aluminum roof that I originally had. Then we had a bad ice storm that broke huge branches from all the trees - sending a large branch spearing through my roof. After failing to be able to find out what kind of roof the insurance company had installed on my house they finally agreed to replace the entire roof again. After much research I finally found Interlock. I found out from Damon that Interlock is actually the company that bought out Fin-all; my original roof! Even though interlock was more expensive than any other estimate I received my insurance company accepted their estimate. All this to say: Interlock is even better than my original roof because they have made improvements on the original design and the quality is obviously better than the steel shingles that were replaced. The Interlock crew chief took the time to explain the differences in manufacturing and installation -Interlock is sturdier and has better texture for a much more appealing look. Both my previous roofs would take damage if walked on but because of the design and texture in these new shingles, they are much sturdier. I am confident that I now have the best roof on the market- and an excellent warranty as well!! Positive: Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism Services: Roof damage repair, Roof installation
Very pleased with Ivan's work from Interlock at our home!
Jared form Interlock was great. Very detail oriented and thorough explaining all the types of roofing offered and providing us with a comprehensive estimate. If looking for a new roof. Dont hesitate, give them a call.
We are extremely pleased with the quality, appearance and fast installation of our new Interlock roof. The crew did awesome work and were friendly and careful. We feel so much safer with the protection of our metal roof on our home, which is surrounded by beautiful fir trees.
I had a "slate style" metal roof installed by Interlock Roofing and these guys are great! They were so polite and fast, they got my whole roof done in just two days and cleaned up the site perfectly. I would highly recommend them. Positive, Professionalism, Services: Roof installation
Update on my Interlock Roof System. I encourage you to read all of this review, because it has a very important element to it, and it might surprise you.I had the roof installed 2 years ago, & as noted in my original review below, the subcontractor at that time was less than attentive. Turns out, his crew was, too. In late 2020, there was a pretty significant leak into the kitchen from the sola tube, which prompted a repair call. The responses from customer service were a bit iffy, but Ivan (super knowledgeable guy) came out to inspect the leaks. At that time he also investigated the leaking behind the gutters & facia boards that had been happening right from the beginning. Apparently there was excessive condensation happening above and below the waterproofing, & it was a mystery why that was happening. It took two attempts to fix the leak into the kitchen, & a few more inspections to investigate the failing roof. There several visits and emails, & finally, in early 2021, I found it necessary to formally executed a warranty claim on the roof to HQ in Canada. I expected resistance. Here is the great part. Not only did Interlock Roofing take my warranty claim seriously, having Ivan come back yet again & open up a portion of the roof to inspect further; Mr. Yvon Giroux, VP of Installation in Canada, decided to have his best crew come out & completely tear off not only the Interlock Roof, but the asphalt roof underneath it as well, & start from absolute scratch. A fully new installation. To no one's surprise, they found mistakes were done by the first subcontracting crew (who didn't work for Interlock very long that year). I can tell you, the crew that came out last week were top notch. I haven't seen that amount of dedicated hard work in a very long time. It was obvious right from the start this crew was knowledgeable & well polished.I am so impressed with the Interlock Roofing System, the Company, and their integrity! The tear off, any repairs, & full installation was done in 2 days. Right after, we had several days of heavy rain. Not. One. Drip. Anywhere. The roof is even more attractive and beautiful than before. Interlock earned every one of their 5 stars. The roof is amazing, and I am one very satisfied customer.\*\*Original Review\*\*The roof is amazing. It looks great and the neighbors compliment it all the time. Big bonus is I have hardly used my air conditioning at all this year. What Interlock told me appears to be pretty spot on as far as the roof keeping the house cooler during hot weather. And finally, I really enjoy not having to get up on the roof several times a year to maintain it, knowing it is going to outlast me.The company was very gentle with us when we asked to postpone our fall scheduled installation for a few months due to a series of deaths, and as soon as weather permitted in the spring, we had the roof installed. The only thing that I was not thrilled about was when the installers arrived, I found out they were not employed by Interlock, as we were led to believe when we signed the contract last year. Quite honestly, had I known the installation was sub-contracted out, it would have been a deal breaker and I wouldn't have signed the contract. The sub-contractor was often busy with his other business needs and wasn't always on site during the installation. I understand his crew might only work on Interlock installations, but the owner of the contracting business was not solely dedicated to Interlock. He was a really nice guy, but not super attentive to my questions or concerns, which came back to haunt him later. I had requested a customer service follow-up after the installation that took a couple of months to have my concerned addressed fully. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the sub-contractor instead of employees for the install, and the fact the customer service response was pretty slow. In the end, Interlock made good on everything. I still recommend them as a company, and I definitely recommend the roof. Services: Roof inspection, Roof installation, Roof repair
Looks great, unlike the common metal roofs you see.And being aluminum it won't rust out. Recently we had freezing rain which caused some tree limbs to break off and fall from a tree close to our house which demolished one gutter and part of another one, also partially smashing a roof vent ; but the metal roof held up supprisingly well. We also had a forest fire this past summer before putting this roof on that came close.A metal roof is just a little more deterent you can add against such events.5 stars. Damon, the installers, and everyone at interlock were wonderful and easy to work with. THANKS . Positive, Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Professionalism, Value, Services: Roof installation
We had our roof replaced about 1.5 years ago with Interlock and the experience was amazing. They were easy to schedule, matched their estimate to the cent, helped us find a great financing company, and were ahead of schedule. The whole process from meeting & picking from a great selection to watching them tear down layers of shingles and apply a seamless roof was impressively efficient. It still looks amazing, and we’ve had no problems. I’d highly recommend them & their products. Our house is a ton lighter, easier to maintain and is more efficient to heat & cool. Great product, great selection, and great company overall. Positive Responsiveness, Punctuality, Quality, Value
Excellent product and insulation was also excellent. I would recommend this product as the last roof your house will ever need. The fir needles wash off with a good rain and the slate roof looks just like slate. AAA+++
We had a metal roof already, but we wanted a nicer looking metal roof that didn’t stand out in the neighborhood. After seeing the Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems at the Home Improvement Show, we set up an appointment. I had already checked them out on their website, so it wasn’t whether or not we were going to do the roof, rather what style and color did we want. Interlock kept us up to date on when they would be out here. The installers arrived in December 2016 and in two days we had a new roof. They were the most polite workers that we have ever had at the house. They showed us the material they that lay down before the roof goes on it was a very thick underlayment. No wonder our house is 5 degrees warmer and the heater doesn’t come on as much as it did before. They did an excellent job of clean up. You could not even tell that we had anything done outside. A few weeks after the roof was installed Glenn Boss and his boss showed up in person to make sure that everything was right and see if we had any questions. You do not see this level of service anywhere. This year here in the Pacific Northwest we have gotten a record amount of rain. With our old metal roof, it would have been really loud, but with the Interlock Roofing System, we can barely hear it. The only way that we knew it is raining is if we hear it hit the windows or we look outside and see it coming down. We just love our new roof! The house looks so much nicer than it did before with our other metal roof. And we are really enjoying how much warmer our home is now.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Labish
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Labish, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Labish.
Does metal roofing handle Lake Labish's heavy rainfall without leaks?
Yes—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed water by design, and Lake Labish receives about 1,329 mm of rain yearly without issue from properly installed Interlock systems. The interlocking seams overlap in all directions, preventing water from finding a path underneath; combined with a solid deck and underlayment, the installation is as leak-proof as any modern roof. The aluminum itself is non-porous, so trapped moisture cannot degrade the material. After 27 years of installations across wet Pacific climates, Interlock's warranty covers water intrusion from manufacturing defects.
Why choose aluminum metal roofing instead of steel in a wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched or dented, so Lake Labish's ~39 annual freeze-thaw cycles and moisture won't trigger corrosion. Steel, by contrast, requires constant paint maintenance to prevent rust, especially in wet climates. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is the same material used on Antarctic research stations and coastal salt-air homes. The dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating adds 30 years of chalking and fading resistance as an extra safeguard.
Can my house handle a metal tile roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?
No reinforcement needed—Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. That means you can install it directly over your existing roof in most cases, saving the cost and mess of a tear-off. By contrast, a traditional tile roof would demand expensive structural upgrades to support the weight. Lake Labish homeowners often face the choice between upgrading their home's frame or settling for a lighter alternative; aluminum tile eliminates that trade-off. The lightweight advantage also reduces the load your home's rafters bear during the region's ~111 km/h wind gusts.
Will a metal roof blow off in Lake Labish winds?
No. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, well above Lake Labish's typical gust speeds of about 111 km/h. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors in horizontal and vertical directions, so wind cannot lift a single panel without unraveling the entire roof—a structural advantage asphalt shingles do not have. The UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating also means the panels flex under stress without loss of performance. Homeowners in high-wind zones have trusted this system since 1998.
Does hail damage metal roofing, and can I get insurance help?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 testing simulates repeated impacts equivalent to severe hail, so the roof maintains its integrity and appearance after storms. Many homeowners report that their insurance companies offer discounts for Class 4-rated roofing, since claims are so rare. In Lake Labish, where hail is less frequent than in mountain regions but freeze-thaw cycles are common at ~39 per year, the durable aluminum construction proves its value by surviving both impacts and seasonal stress without cracking or curling like asphalt or wood.
What is the warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it actually last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That means no gradual deductible increases—a claim filed in year 5 or year 25 is treated the same. The warranty transfers once, giving the next owner 50 years from completion, a major resale advantage. Over Lake Labish's ~1,329 mm annual rainfall and ~39 freeze-thaw cycles, the coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). This is your last roof—no tear-offs to landfill, no re-roofing in 15 or 20 years.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood shakes?
Metal roofing requires minimal upkeep—occasional gutter cleaning and debris removal, but no sealing, no algae treatment, and no seasonal repairs. Asphalt shingles need re-sealing and show granule loss after 10–15 years, especially under Lake Labish's 1,329 mm rainfall and ~39 freeze-thaw cycles. Wood shakes crack, split, and rot in wet climates and demand annual staining. Aluminum won't rot, split, or curl, and the Alunar coating prevents chalking and fading for 30 years. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance liability. Over a 50-year lifespan, the labor and cost savings compound significantly—money you save on repairs can go toward other home improvements.
Will a metal roof help cool my home and lower energy bills?
energy-efficient Interlock colors are rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny finish. That means the roof reflects heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. In Lake Labish, where you get about 3,054 annual sunshine hours and winter temperatures average around 12°C, the reflective coating reduces cooling load in summer and, in combination with proper attic ventilation, can lower your air-conditioning costs. The energy benefit compounds over decades; a cooler attic also reduces ice damming risk during the ~39 freeze-thaw cycles that occur each year.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, ending the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle entirely. Asphalt shingles are disposed of in landfills by the millions of tons each year and cannot be recycled. A metal roof installed today can be recovered and reused as raw aluminum material in building, automotive, or beverage industries—preserving value instead of waste. Over Lake Labish's ~1,329 mm annual rainfall and ~39 freeze-thaw cycles, a 50-year metal roof avoids three or four complete asphalt roof replacements and their associated environmental cost. CALGreen verification documents the sustainability benefit, relevant to Oregon homeowners and increasingly important for resale appeal.
Can metal roofing look like slate, cedar shake, or tile instead of a corrugated steel look?
Yes. Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each engineered to replicate traditional high-end materials in authentic detail. The Slate and Shake profiles mimic dimension and texture; the Mediterranean Tile captures curved tile character; the Cedar Shingle offers the warmth of wood grain; Standing Seam delivers a clean, contemporary aesthetic. All use the same durable 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum core with dual-sided Alunar coating. Lake Labish homeowners who want curb appeal and resale value without the maintenance burden of actual slate, wood, or clay tile choose these profiles. The visual appeal is coupled with the weather durability that slate, shakes, and tile cannot offer in wet Pacific climates.
