Review: September 5, 2015Completion: August 24, 2015

First of all. On the day of delivery" 8/15/2015, "I called Jeniffer and she told me the delivery truck was on its way. There was no previous notice of delivery. What if I was not home? Or had something to do of importance. This was not considered. Second of all Michael B. spent to much time in my garage inspecting. My brush to my heavy vacuum, went missing. I noticed it immediately after he left. As far as your workers, some smoke to much and where not efficient enough and worked very slow. They took more breaks than work. No one spoke English except one person who was suppose to be in charge. And while the stripping was being done the leader kept leaving and left for hours and the workers were not prepared properly. After two days of stripping my plants where not protected as promised. I yelled at one worker for carelessness. Every morning I was promised they would start work at 7am. They never ever showed up until 11:30am everyday after; except the last day which was day 5. And instead of 7am as promised it was 7:45am. They milked my whole weekend. They started on a Thursday and ended after noon" on Monday. I never got the paperwork for the dumpster which had no permit to be on the street. It would never had fit in my driveway. Michael B. knew this. This is why they chose to work on the weekend so they would not have to pay for the dumpster permit. I had to go and by traffic cone and caution tap to mark off the dumpster and protect my property from traffic. Also the objects used to brake up snow fall were promised on both sides of the main roof. However when the leader came to me and said they where not ordered he only had enough for one side of the house. And that the material that was ordered and not used or not here", would be deducted from the original price. When the material was delivered it was placed inside my garage I did not get a manifest of what was actually purchased. My gutter hangers were re bought because of the mis-care of dismantling and new hooks had to be purchased. They were just snapped off. That did not please me. I did feed them the last day of work to show my kindness. However part of my gardening tools went missing. The clean up looked ok, but after a day of getting my house back I did a clear inspection and found cigarette butts all over the place and nails. They should have been vacuumed up. This was a ruff 5days for such a small project. There promptness to time and duty showed no respect to me as the owner of said property. There was very little communication because it did not make sense to talk to the workers because no one spoke English. What a nightmare. By day 4 I wanted them gone. But I could not interact because my roof's would not have gotten done or finished. One noticeable thing was when they called and said there tire's had gotten slashed and they would be late. On that same day after the repair, the leader went out to Home Depot, 3 miles away and he got another flat and came back after 6pm. Leaving inexperienced workers just standing around smoking cigarettes, lying down on the roof waiting. My neighbors came over to my home and even called me on the phone wondering why or what was wrong. This was not a good day. This set me a day back. I was not happy. No communication and not happy. What a lazy crew. After they left I sent jeniffer a good report and photo's. When I went to get my gardening tool" and found it was missing, all gloves came off and the real truth came out which is now. I was willing to forget and forgive. But sense you asked for this survey, you are getting the truth and "I WILL STAND BY THIS STATEMENT". LIKE OR NOT. And after I sent Jeniffer that invoice for the items purchased by fax (508-660-6918) and phone call 508-660-6665; all I get is CANADA answering service. And no email from [email protected]. I have left messages with InterLock Inc. for Jeniffer with no response. I get very angry when I get no response from a company that I am spending thousands of US Dollars with and they just fall off the grid", because the billing and workers are not connected. It feels almost like a scam. There are still missing pieces to my gutter hangups. All of the hangups were present when they started but not when they finished. And the snow breakup material for the "Main Roof" are only on one side. Yet I paid for all the materials for the whole completion and got only half. I know I signed off on this project. However you have material at my cost that does not belong to you and no material list of deduction paid for and "not received. I trusted you. And you are asking me for a referral? I don't think so. It's only been 8 days since you left. And it took me eight days to do my final inspection of the truth. I left them on there own to lockup after cleaning up. I had to leave on a important matter. It has not rained yet, so I do not know if there will be any leaks. Its a shame when you have only "one person with total experience and the rest have to wait to be told what to do. That's why it took five days to complete the roof's work. What a shame. And what a nightmare for the owner'; "me. I ate the steak. So I have to pay for it. HOWEVER, I WILL NOT REFER ANYONE TO DINE OR EAT AT YOUR TABLE. The garage and home looks good. We'll just wait for the weather to see how well your material and work hold.If there is a problem", YOU WILL BE CALLED. And if there is no proper response, you will get a call for my State Of Rhode Island Governor's Office to your State Governor's Office and State Legislators and State Representatives as non- cooperative, out of state out of country business.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wanskuck

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wanskuck, Rhode Island. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wanskuck.

How does metal roofing handle Wanskuck's winter snow and ice buildup?

Interlock metal panels shed snow and ice far better than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and interlocking seams prevent moisture from pooling. With about 76 cm of snow annually and roughly 83 freeze-thaw cycles per year, your roof faces real stress—but aluminum's non-porous construction means water trapped in asphalt's texture won't cycle between ice and melt, which causes deterioration. Snow guards are available if you need them, and the lightweight profile (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural worry from accumulated load either.

Will freeze-thaw cycling crack or damage aluminum metal roofing?

Aluminum roofing is immune to the freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood shingles. The material itself has no porosity—water doesn't penetrate and expand to cause splitting or cracking as it freezes. Wanskuck's 83 annual freeze-thaw days are harsh on traditional roofs, but the aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24 / 3003-H24) simply doesn't absorb moisture, so it laughs off that cycle. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating protects the fastener zone, and the Guardian Warranty explicitly covers cracking and splitting for life.

Can aluminum roofing rust, and does it hold up in wet Rhode Island weather?

Aluminum roofing cannot rust because aluminum contains no iron—the only element that rusts. When exposed to moisture or salt air, aluminum forms a transparent oxide layer that seals itself automatically; if scratched, it heals. Because Wanskuck receives about 1,198 mm of rain yearly, corrosion resistance matters deeply. Steel roofing rusts in just a few years without constant maintenance; Interlock's aluminum, coated on both sides with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon, stays sound for decades in this wet climate. The Guardian Warranty covers rust for the original owner's lifetime.

Is metal roofing safe in high winds? What about those coastal gusts?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec—well above Wanskuck's typical gust speeds of about 118 km/h. The overlapping seams lock panels together so wind can't lift or separate them. Rhode Island's coastal exposure brings serious wind pressure, and metal roofing's rigidity (unlike asphalt, which cups and flaps) means it stays put. Your home's structural integrity is never compromised, and you won't lose shingles in fall storms like you would with traditional materials.

What hail rating does metal roofing have, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact rating available—and the warranty covers hailstone perforations up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers offer discounts on homes with Class 4 roofing because claims are far less likely. Rhode Island's thunderstorm season brings hail risk, and asphalt shingles often need replacement after a single severe storm, while Interlock's aluminum is essentially impervious. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating; many carriers recognize the reduced risk and adjust your premium.

Is metal roofing expensive compared to asphalt over the long run?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but becomes cheaper over time because you buy it once. Asphalt lasts 15–25 years and must be torn off and landfilled; you might replace it twice in a metal roof's lifespan. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited (non-prorated for the original owner), and zero maintenance is required beyond occasional debris cleaning. A current offer provides no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. Over 50+ years in Wanskuck's freeze-thaw, rainfall, and wind climate, the total cost of ownership—material, labor, disposal, and maintenance—favors metal decisively.

What warranty comes with metal roofing, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for you as the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also transferable once; the next owner gets 50 years from completion. Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998 and installing for over 25 years, so real-world performance is proven. In Wanskuck's 1,198 mm annual rainfall and 83 freeze-thaw days, traditional roofs show serious wear by year 20; metal still looks and performs like new. This is genuinely your last roof.

Does a metal roof shaped like tile or slate need a stronger frame?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than real concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over your existing roof and frame without upgrades. Cedar Shingle comes in at 0.41 lb/sq ft, lighter still. Your home's structure doesn't know the difference between a metal tile roof and a standard asphalt installation, which eliminates thousands in reinforcement costs that tile or slate would demand. This makes authentic-looking slate or tile finishes affordable and practical on any home, old or new.

Does metal roofing reflect heat or make cooling bills worse?

energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat instead of absorbing it like asphalt does. Interlock panels with Cool Roof Rating Council certification reach thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they bounce roughly half the sun's energy away before it heats your attic. With about 3,050 annual sunshine hours in Wanskuck, that reflection adds up to measurable savings on cooling—especially on south and west exposures. Aluminum's conductivity is excellent, so if you pair it with attic ventilation, you'll keep interior temperatures lower and reduce air-conditioning load significantly.

Is metal roofing more environmentally friendly than asphalt?

Interlock roofing breaks the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life, and the material itself is made from recycled content. Asphalt roofs generate tons of waste every 15–25 years; over a 50-year period in Wanskuck, you'd dispose of multiple roofs. Metal roofing installs over your existing roof in many cases, eliminating one tear-off entirely. The manufacturing process (Delta, BC, since 1998) and CALGreen verification underscore a commitment to reduced environmental impact. Choosing metal means your home's final roof never reaches a landfill.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Wanskuck’s climate?

Yes. Wanskuck averages about 76 cm of snow, 1198 mm of rain, roughly 83 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 118 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
