Review: October 14, 2025Completion: August 31, 2025

We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.

Review: October 9, 2025Completion: August 12, 2025

The installers were not Interlock employees. I assumed they would be and was surprised to learn that they were "piece mealed". They were independent roofing contractors who install many different roof materials and as a result, there were some mistakes made that needed to be corrected after I brought them to the Installer Manager's attention. They also did not speak English well or at all. At times, I was having conversations with the Supervisor through an iPhone translation app. The cost for the job was outrageous in my opinion but then I did sign the contract agreeing to this as I knew much of the cost was to support the warranty and future trips to the house for repairs if needed. In other words, I was paying for a warranty not the cost and reasonable markup for the job. Having paid that, my expectations were high yet I had to get pro actively involved to make sure the job turned out as expected. So in a nutshell, I would be somewhat hesitant recommending Interlock Roofing because of the price and non-English speaking installers. Get your own English speaking roofing employees. Had no idea at the time we signed the contract that you were merely a materials supplier. Attention to details. Got to demand it to get the job done right.

Never have them do business with them. Not honest, transparent. They then tried to take legal action against me. Transparency and being honest. They used subcontractors. They should not be rude and disrespectful to their customers. Patrick should be fired.

Review: August 23, 2025Completion: July 31, 2025

We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Oneida

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Oneida, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Oneida.

How does a metal roof handle Oneida's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock metal panels shed snow and ice effectively because aluminum expands and contracts uniformly, resisting the cracking and curling that plague asphalt in freeze-thaw weather. Oneida averages about 49 cm of snow and roughly 34 freeze-thaw days annually—conditions that accelerate asphalt degradation. The four-way interlocking system prevents water infiltration during the melt-and-refreeze cycles common here, and the panels' smooth, hard surface discourages ice dam formation. Snow guards can be added if desired. This durability in your specific climate is why the Guardian Warranty covers cracking and curling for the original owner's lifetime.

Does heavy rain in Oneida pose a leak risk with metal roofing?

Oneida receives approximately 1,578 mm of rain annually, yet Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to overlap and seal, preventing water penetration even in sustained downpours. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with building code water-shedding requirements. Installation over a solid deck with underlayment creates a watertight envelope comparable to asphalt, but without asphalt's tendency to deteriorate under constant moisture exposure. The self-healing oxide layer on aluminum also resists corrosion from acidic rainwater—a genuine advantage in the Pacific Northwest's wet climate where steel would eventually corrode through.

Will a metal roof help with insurance costs after Oneida hail storms?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty explicitly covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers recognize this superior resilience and offer premium reductions, though discounts vary by carrier and policy. This matters in Oneida, where gusts occasionally reach 103 km/h and spring weather can turn severe. Contact your insurer directly with the UL 2218 documentation and warranty details; many will credit the non-degrading, non-hail-damage-prone nature of aluminum against your deductible or renewal rate.

Can a metal roof withstand Oneida's winter wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Oneida's typical gusts average 15 km/h with peaks near 103 km/h—well within safe limits. The four-way interlocking design distributes lateral stress across the entire roof assembly, preventing individual panel lift-off even in strong gusts. This engineering is verified in the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, which covers wind loading for the IRC and IBC. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, degrade at the edges and become more vulnerable to wind damage over time; aluminum does not.

Why does aluminum roofing not rust like steel in a wet climate?

Aluminum contains no iron—the element that oxidizes to form rust. Instead, aluminum naturally develops a thin, protective oxide layer when exposed to air, and this layer self-heals when scratched. In Oneida's 1,578 mm annual rainfall environment, this is a decisive advantage over steel, which corrodes from the inside out once its coating is breached. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) coated with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides—extra protection in salt-air zones. Steel roofs eventually require replacement due to rust; aluminum does not, backing the Guardian Warranty's coverage against rusting.

Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof without reinforcement?

Absolutely. Interlock metal roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, for instance, is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile and installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft. This means most existing structures need no reinforcement, and the roof typically installs directly over your current asphalt, saving tear-off costs and labor. In Oneida, where 2,757 annual sunshine hours means seasonal thermal expansion is gradual, the lightweight aluminum panel system is stable and predictable. Compare this to slate or traditional tile: installing those would require structural upgrades costing tens of thousands of dollars. Metal replicates their look without the load.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof require in the Pacific Northwest?

Interlock metal roofs require minimal maintenance—annual gutter cleaning and occasional inspection are sufficient. The aluminum will not split, crack, curl, or rot like asphalt, wood shake, or tile do over time, especially in Oneida's 49 cm annual snow and 1,578 mm rain. There is no algae growth, no moss accumulation requiring removal, and no granule loss. The Alunar® fluorocarbon coating is warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading (measured per ASTM D4214 and D2244). Once installed, an Interlock roof frees you from the 5–10 year asphalt maintenance treadmill—and the Guardian Warranty even covers maintenance-related claims.

What is the real lifespan and warranty on Interlock metal roofing?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—in essence, the roof. It is also one-time transferable to the next owner, who then receives 50 years of coverage from the completion date. No other roofing system offers this combination. Interlock has been manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and is installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station—proof of 25+ years of real-world durability. In Oneida's freeze-thaw environment (34 days per year), this non-prorated guarantee means you own a roof that outlasts the house.

What style options does Interlock offer for a Oneida home?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each with authentic texture and dimension. The aluminum construction is coated with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish in multiple colors, so you can match the aesthetic of your home's architecture while gaining metal's 120 mph wind warranty and Class 4 hail rating. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles suit traditional Pacific Northwest homes; Standing Seam offers a contemporary look; and the Mediterranean Tile evokes European charm. All profiles are identical in durability and non-corrosion properties. Choose based on curb appeal; the underlying aluminum will outlast asphalt regardless.

Is metal roofing actually better for the environment than asphalt?

Interlock metal roofing is approximately 95% recyclable and eliminates the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that accumulates thousands of tons of waste annually across the nation. When an Interlock roof reaches end-of-life—a timeline measured in decades, not years—the aluminum is reclaimed as scrap and remelted into new products, generating zero waste. By contrast, asphalt shingles are difficult to recycle and clog landfills. In Oneida, where environmental stewardship matters, switching from asphalt to aluminum means your roof never becomes a landfill problem. The CALGreen verification of Interlock also credits the reduced maintenance cycle—no yearly replacements, no chemical treatments. One roof, one installation, a lifetime of sustainability.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Oneida’s climate?

Yes. Oneida averages about 49 cm of snow, 1578 mm of rain, roughly 34 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 103 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
