Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Rosburg, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rosburg
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rosburg, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rosburg.
Does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice buildup in Rosburg winters?
Yes—aluminum's smooth surface sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt shingles, reducing ice dam risk. Rosburg receives about 49 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles per year, conditions that create ideal ice-dam problems on conventional roofs. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 120 mph, meaning snow guards (if you choose them) stay firmly anchored. The four-way interlocking design prevents water infiltration even when snow and ice melt repeatedly. Many Rosburg homeowners add snow guards for safety and aesthetic control, and the light weight of aluminum—about 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile—means no structural reinforcement is required.
Will a metal roof leak in Rosburg's heavy rain?
Heavy rainfall like Rosburg's annual 1,578 mm is where four-way interlocking aluminum panels excel. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, directing water down and out rather than allowing it to pool or seep into gaps. The overlap design means water cannot penetrate even during the intense rain events typical of Wahkiakum County winters. Paired with a solid deck and proper underlayment during installation, an Interlock metal roof performs identically to asphalt in the rain—silent and leak-free. The aluminum oxide layer is self-healing, so minor scratches during installation don't compromise the seal. Homeowners typically notice their roof never leaks, even in the heaviest downpours.
Can aluminum roofing rust in a wet Pacific Northwest climate?
No—aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. When exposed to moisture, aluminum forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal underneath. This is why Interlock has installed roofs from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998, all without corrosion failures. Your roof is manufactured from roofing-grade 3105-H24 or 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides—a 30-year warranted coating against chalking and fading. In Rosburg's maritime climate with about 1,578 mm of rain annually, this means you're investing in a roof that will never develop the rust stains, streaks, or structural decay that plague steel roofs or aging asphalt in high-moisture regions.
Does a metal roof reduce hail damage, and can it lower my insurance premiums?
Interlock achieves the highest hail rating available: UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In Rosburg's weather environment—where gusts reach 103 km/h and the roof endures repeated freeze-thaw stress—this durability translates to fewer claims and visible peace of mind. Many insurance companies offer discounts for Class 4-rated roofs because the risk of damage claims drops significantly. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack and puncture under hail, aluminum's hardness and flexibility absorb impact without permanent deformation. Contact your homeowner's insurance agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating; many will apply a discount immediately upon installation confirmation.
How long does a metal roof last, and what does the warranty cover?
An Interlock aluminum roof lasts 50+ years and is backed by The Guardian, a lifetime limited non-prorated material warranty for the original owner. This means if the aluminum or coating fails—rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, or loss of impact resistance—Interlock covers the repair or replacement at no cost for your entire ownership. The warranty is also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 additional years of coverage from completion, a powerful selling point if you ever relocate. Combined with Rosburg's moderate climate (about 2,757 sunshine hours annually prevent the extreme UV degradation seen in southern regions), your roof will reliably outlast 3–4 asphalt replacements, making it the last roof you'll buy.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Over the roof's life, aluminum metal roofing is significantly cheaper than asphalt despite higher initial cost. Asphalt shingles fail in 15–20 years in Rosburg's wet, freeze-thaw environment (roughly 34 cycles annually), requiring tear-off and landfill disposal, then reinstallation. A metal roof lasts 50+ years with zero tear-offs. On a 2,500 sq ft home, you'll avoid 2–3 complete asphalt replacements plus labor and haul-away. The Guardian Warranty is lifetime non-prorated for the original owner, eliminating unexpected repair costs. Current financing through Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making the entry cost manageable. When amortized over 50 years, metal roofing's total cost-per-year is typically one-third of asphalt.
Will my home's structure need reinforcement for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Slate profile installs at roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake at 0.58, and the Mediterranean Tile at only 0.59 lb/sq ft. The Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so it exerts minimal load on your home's framing. This extreme lightness allows installation directly over most existing roofs, saving tear-off labor and debris disposal costs. In contrast, traditional tile or slate tile can weigh 10–15 lb/sq ft and often require costly structural upgrades. Rosburg homeowners with older homes, additions, or weaker framing benefit enormously because the lightweight metal roof simply attaches to existing decking without reinforcement, and your contractor can assess whether re-roofing over existing shingles is feasible during the site visit.
What architectural styles does Interlock metal roofing come in?
Interlock offers five profiles to match your home's aesthetic: Slate (clean, contemporary lines), Cedar Shingle (traditional New England cottage), Shake (rustic, dimensional texture), Mediterranean Tile (European villa curves), and Standing Seam (modern, sleek appearance). Each profile uses the same four-way interlocking aluminum construction and is available in multiple colors. The visual variety ensures your metal roof complements Rosburg's mixed architectural character—from Victorian farmhouses to modern coastal homes. All profiles are manufactured to the same durability standards (ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance, UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating) and carry the same 30-year coating warranty. Choose based on your home's style and neighborhood context; the roofing performance and longevity are identical across all profiles.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood?
Interlock aluminum requires virtually no maintenance beyond occasional gutter cleaning. Unlike asphalt shingles, which require periodic inspection for missing granules, curling, and moss growth in wet climates like Rosburg's (1,578 mm rain annually), aluminum panels don't degrade from moisture, UV, or biological growth. The 70% PVDF Alunar coating on both sides is warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading, so color loss is not a concern. Unlike wood shake roofs, aluminum won't split, rot, or require cedar treatment. Unlike concrete tile, it won't crack in freeze-thaw cycles (Rosburg averages 34 per year). The self-healing aluminum oxide layer protects even scratched areas. CALGreen verification confirms the reduced-maintenance design. In Rosburg's rainy environment, your maintenance burden drops from annual inspections to almost nothing—no moss removal, no sealant reapplication, no structural concern about water retention.
How well does a metal roof hold up to Rosburg's wind and storms?
Interlock is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Rosburg's typical daily-max winds are about 15 km/h with gusts reaching 103 km/h, well within that protection envelope. The four-way interlocking panel design is the key: each panel locks securely to its four neighbors (top, bottom, left, right), distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. This interlocking geometry means wind cannot lift or separate panels, even in strong gusts. Contrast this with asphalt shingles, which lift, peel, and tear in sustained winds above 60 mph. In Rosburg's maritime climate with frequent storms, the interlocking design provides confidence that your roof will still be intact after the worst weather the Pacific Northwest delivers, with no blown-off sections or emergency tarping required.
