I didn't get as many updates about scheduling as I would have liked. I had to call several times to get projected dates over the course of several months. We are very happy with the finished roof. The crew did a very neat and professional job, with careful attention to detail. We love the color.
The installers were not Interlock employees. I assumed they would be and was surprised to learn that they were "piece mealed". They were independent roofing contractors who install many different roof materials and as a result, there were some mistakes made that needed to be corrected after I brought them to the Installer Manager's attention. They also did not speak English well or at all. At times, I was having conversations with the Supervisor through an iPhone translation app. The cost for the job was outrageous in my opinion but then I did sign the contract agreeing to this as I knew much of the cost was to support the warranty and future trips to the house for repairs if needed. In other words, I was paying for a warranty not the cost and reasonable markup for the job. Having paid that, my expectations were high yet I had to get pro actively involved to make sure the job turned out as expected. So in a nutshell, I would be somewhat hesitant recommending Interlock Roofing because of the price and non-English speaking installers. Get your own English speaking roofing employees. Had no idea at the time we signed the contract that you were merely a materials supplier. Attention to details. Got to demand it to get the job done right.
I had full length venting at the peak of my roof, not the typical multiple roof vents scattered about. After install I asked if the top cap put on was adequate for the same type venting that it replaced. A man called and explained it was vented at the peak and I would be able to see this from inside the attic, which is not easy to access on my roof. Anyway, I'll trust your company that my roof is properly vented per building codes, but you might consider some type of "show and tell" to other customers with peak vented roofs like mine to assure them "visually" that the Interlock peak shingles do in fact vent adequately/per code requirements. -Rocky Cowart We've had several slow vehicle drive bys of people looking at our new roof. I'd be very surprised if you haven't received calls from some of them as your "high vis" advertisement sign is also hard to miss.... :-)
They could improve on timing relating to weather.
Since weather was an issue, it would have been nice if the office staff would have called instead of emailed when there were changes. The only frustration my husband and I had was not knowing who to contact for our job. In the emails sent to the customers it should include the project formans name, and contact number. Also, it should include a start time or encourage the owner to call the project Forman to clarify a start time. I am so happy that we made the choice to install an interlock roof, thank you for the best product we could invest in.
