The crew we had was very competent. I didn't quite understand why they didn't stay in Watertown instead of driving back so far. That didn't make any sense to me. I would like to be close to my work site. They were here some nights until after dark. That's why I'm worried about these leaks. I've got spots on the floor in the attic and on the ceilings in the bedrooms. I thought they were going to soak it down first, but that didn't happen. They did come back to fix a few things, and they were very amicable. It too such a long time, and that made it a little ore difficult. They should have the sales people come out and see the things a worker might run into.

I was disappointed that I couldn't afford a rood from Interlock Roofing because I did like what I had seen.

A representative of your company on site. There is no representation of your product on site except for the big arrow sign, not vehicles, clothing etc. Install manager (Jesse) was only here for a few hours for the entire install. One intaller signed off on the job with the leadmans name. Who are these people contracted by you? Why did the installers take a whole case of roofing back with them if I paid for them?

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Ixonia Heights

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Ixonia Heights, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Ixonia Heights.

Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt or slate?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts uniformly, unlike asphalt that becomes brittle or slate that cracks under the 81 freeze-thaw days Ixonia Heights typically experiences annually. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) does not absorb moisture, so ice damage common in traditional materials simply cannot occur. Combined with the four-way interlocking panel design, your roof moves as one system without the micro-fractures that degrade other materials through repeated winter cycles.

How does Interlock metal roofing perform under Ixonia Heights' typical 88 centimeters of annual snowfall?

The lightweight aluminum panels—just 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile—shed snow efficiently without adding structural burden, even when accumulation reaches regional averages. The smooth, low-friction surface prevents ice dam formation that plagues asphalt and wood shakes. Snow guards install cleanly into the four-way interlocking system if you need them. Ixonia Heights receives roughly 775 mm of rain yearly plus that snow load; the panel design channels both away without pooling or backing up under gutters.

Why won't an aluminum roof rust like steel roofing, especially in Wisconsin's wet climate?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust chemically. Instead, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that stops corrosion instantly when exposed. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) protects both panel surfaces, which is critical in regions receiving 775 mm annual rainfall. Even if the coating scratches, the aluminum substrate remains inert. Steel roofs require constant vigilance; aluminum in Jefferson County's wet conditions simply cannot corrode.

Can Interlock panels withstand the wind gusts typical of this region?

Ixonia Heights experiences gusts up to 100 km/h regularly; Interlock is warranted for 120 mph (193 km/h) winds when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking mechanism locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This design, verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790 (2025), means even severe regional storms—well below the 193 km/h warranty threshold—will not compromise panel attachment or seals.

What hail rating does Interlock metal roofing carry, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because claims for impact damage become extremely rare. Many carriers recognize the ICC-ES ESR-1790 listing and Class A fire rating as risk reducers. Contact your insurer with the product specifications; Class 4 impact resistance is a material factor in premium calculations for Wisconsin homeowners.

Will a metal roof actually reduce cooling costs in Wisconsin, or is that mainly a southern benefit?

Ixonia Heights receives approximately 3,074 sunshine hours yearly—every one of those reflects heat away from your attic when you choose an energy-efficient Interlock color. Aged Copper Penny achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning summer cooling loads drop noticeably. The 775 mm annual rainfall and 88 cm snow also mean your roof spends months protecting rather than absorbing heat. Over 50+ years, the efficiency gain compounds, especially during spring and fall when Wisconsin receives strong sun but you're still conditioning your home.

Is my house's structure strong enough for a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?

No reinforcement is required. Interlock's lightest profile—the Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft—weighs about 96% less than concrete or clay tile, and even the heaviest (Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft) remains a fraction of traditional materials. Most homes can install Interlock directly over an existing asphalt roof, eliminating the tearoff cost and mess. The four-way interlocking panels distribute their negligible load evenly, so older structures in Ixonia Heights that might struggle under slate or tile accept metal roofing without any structural modification.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need in a climate like Wisconsin's?

An aluminum roof requires virtually no maintenance—no algae treatments, no wood rot inspections, no re-sealing. Unlike asphalt shingles that degrade under Wisconsin's 81 annual freeze-thaw cycles, or cedar shakes that split and curl, Interlock panels remain stable. Gutters need clearing as always, but the roof itself—manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC and verified CALGreen-compliant for reduced maintenance—sheds debris cleanly and resists the 775 mm annual rainfall without deterioration. After 50 years, your maintenance log will be nearly blank.

Is a metal roof a smart investment in Ixonia Heights, or just an aesthetic upgrade?

It is the last roof you will install. A metal roof costs more upfront than asphalt, but the lifetime limited (non-prorated) Guardian Warranty—plus 50-year transfer to the next owner—means you avoid the tear-off cycle every 15–20 years. Over 50 years, asphalt requires 2–3 replacements and landfill disposal; Interlock is ~95% recyclable and remains on your home. The transfer warranty also increases resale appeal in Jefferson County. When you factor installation once versus three times, plus avoided structural repairs from ice dams and freeze-thaw damage common over 88 cm of annual snow, the lifetime cost is lower, not higher.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Ixonia Heights, and how long does the job take?

Interlock Metal Roofing, based locally and serving the region since 2001, installs the full Interlock lineup in Ixonia Heights. Installation timeline depends on roof size and complexity, but the lightweight panels (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) allow faster handling than slate or tile. Most systems install directly over existing asphalt without tearoff, cutting labor time and jobsite debris. Since Interlock has been manufactured since 1998 and installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica, your local installer has access to proven techniques for Wisconsin's 775 mm annual rainfall and 100 km/h gusts. Call for a site assessment and timeline specific to your home.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Ixonia Heights’s climate?

Yes. Ixonia Heights averages about 88 cm of snow, 775 mm of rain, roughly 81 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 100 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
