The crew we had was very competent. I didn't quite understand why they didn't stay in Watertown instead of driving back so far. That didn't make any sense to me. I would like to be close to my work site. They were here some nights until after dark. That's why I'm worried about these leaks. I've got spots on the floor in the attic and on the ceilings in the bedrooms. I thought they were going to soak it down first, but that didn't happen. They did come back to fix a few things, and they were very amicable. It too such a long time, and that made it a little ore difficult. They should have the sales people come out and see the things a worker might run into.

I was disappointed that I couldn't afford a rood from Interlock Roofing because I did like what I had seen.

A representative of your company on site. There is no representation of your product on site except for the big arrow sign, not vehicles, clothing etc. Install manager (Jesse) was only here for a few hours for the entire install. One intaller signed off on the job with the leadmans name. Who are these people contracted by you? Why did the installers take a whole case of roofing back with them if I paid for them?

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Watertown Heights

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Watertown Heights, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Watertown Heights.

How does a metal roof handle Watertown Heights' snow and ice buildup?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt shingles, because aluminum is non-porous and slippery—ice doesn't bond to it the way it does to granular surfaces. With about 86 cm of snow per year and roughly 87 freeze-thaw cycles annually, your roof experiences constant expansion and contraction; aluminum's stable thermal properties and flexibility prevent the cracking and curling that plague shingles. Optional snow guards can be installed at eaves if you prefer to manage shedding. The lightweight design (the Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft) also means no structural stress from accumulated snow load.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Wisconsin damage an aluminum metal roof?

No. Aluminum is inherently resistant to freeze-thaw damage because it has no moisture absorption and doesn't expand or contract the way wood shingles, slate, or asphalt do. Watertown Heights experiences about 87 freeze-thaw days per year—a climate that splits and curls traditional materials—but aluminum's crystalline structure simply cycles without degradation. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating, warranted for 30 years against chalking, further protects against UV stress that accelerates thermal cycling damage. Over decades of Wisconsin winters, your roof's structural integrity remains intact while competitors fail.

Can an Interlock metal roof withstand Watertown Heights' wind gusts?

Yes—the roof is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, and Watertown Heights' typical gusts reach only about 95 km/h. The four-way interlocking panel design locks each sheet to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire system rather than concentrating stress on a few fasteners. This engineering is validated in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, the code compliance standard for metal roofing across the IBC and IRC. Seasonal spring and fall storms, which produce the highest gusts in your region, pose no structural risk to an Interlock roof.

Does Interlock metal roofing reduce hail damage claims in Wisconsin?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This exceptional durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts, especially in hail-prone regions, though you should confirm with your carrier. Wisconsin's hail season, combined with 788 mm annual rainfall and frequent spring thunderstorms, means impact resistance is a genuine asset. Unlike asphalt shingles that dimple and lose granules after moderate hail, Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy absorbs impact without compromising the roof's weather seal or aesthetic finish.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof in Watertown Heights?

Almost never. The Interlock Mediterranean Tile profile, despite its authentic appearance, weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roofs without structural reinforcement. Even the heavier Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft is negligible compared to traditional materials. This light weight is a major advantage in Wisconsin's heavy snow climate (about 86 cm annually): it reduces structural load during the heaviest accumulations and simplifies installation. Your existing roof framing, engineered for asphalt shingles, easily supports aluminum without costly reinforcement or engineering review.

What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it really last?

Interlock offers the Guardian warranty—a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. This is transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding resale value. The coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 measured). With panels manufactured since 1998 and installed across 25+ years of Watertown Heights' freeze-thaw cycles, rainfall (788 mm/year), and snow (about 86 cm/year), real-world data shows these roofs routinely exceed 50 years. This is genuinely your last roof.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood?

Interlock requires virtually no maintenance—no granule replacement, no moss treatment, no wood sealing, no gutter debris from deteriorating shingles. The non-porous aluminum surface sheds leaves and needles cleanly; seasonal inspection of fasteners and seals is standard practice for any roof but far simpler with metal than with wood or asphalt. Watertown Heights' combination of 788 mm rainfall and about 86 cm snow creates challenging maintenance cycles for traditional materials: asphalt shingles degrade faster under wet conditions, and wood shakes split in freeze-thaw stress. Interlock's design is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning your time and money stay in your pocket, not on ladder repairs.

Can Interlock metal roofing reduce cooling costs in a Wisconsin summer?

Yes, if you select energy-efficient colors with high solar reflectance—up to 0.55 for Aged Copper Penny and lower values for darker shades. These colors reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic, reducing cooling load on hot days. With about 3,093 annual sunshine hours in Watertown Heights, even modest reflection compounds over time. All energy-efficiency options have thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they radiate absorbed heat away instead of storing it. While Wisconsin's cooling season is shorter than southern states, homes with excellent attic ventilation and reflective roofing report noticeably lower air-conditioning costs on peak-temperature days. The Alunar coating maintains these reflective properties for 30 years.

Is Interlock metal roofing fire-resistant for Wisconsin?

Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible—it cannot burn—and Interlock offers Class A fire rating availability, the highest fire classification. This is especially relevant for properties near wooded areas or in regions with elevated wildfire risk, though Wisconsin's climate (788 mm rain, 86 cm snow annually) makes wildfire less likely than in western states. The non-combustible aluminum material is validated under ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, meeting IBC and IRC code standards across all jurisdictions. If your homeowner's insurance or local code favors fire-resistant materials, an Interlock roof with Class A certification satisfies those requirements without compromise on aesthetics or durability.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Watertown Heights, and how experienced are they?

Interlock Metal Roofing, the manufacturer, has been serving the Watertown Heights region and surrounding Jefferson County since 2001. This direct relationship means your roof is installed by the people who engineered it, ensuring adherence to design specifications and warranty requirements. With over two decades of Wisconsin experience—managing the region's 88-90 cm annual snow, 788 mm rainfall, and freeze-thaw stress—our installers understand how to optimize flashing, ventilation, and panel orientation for local conditions. You're working with the source, not a third-party contractor, which simplifies warranty claims, technical questions, and any future service needs.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Watertown Heights’s climate?

Yes. Watertown Heights averages about 86 cm of snow, 788 mm of rain, roughly 87 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 95 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
